"What the hell were you thinking!" I exclaimed, narrowing my eyes and glaring at him "you didn't stick to the deal so you will probably have to go another night outside!"
Daniel looked calmly back at me and said "trust me what I had to go through in there was much worse, that family are like a living hell!"
I folded my arms and considered what he said for a moment, the family defiantly seemed very odd, so I could see why Daniel would find them hell! I finally told him "fine I'll reason with James so that you don't have to spend another night outside."
Daniel grinned a huge grin that slowly spread across his face, "I knew you didn't really hate me!" He smirked, and I gritted my teeth the moment he said it, wanting to punch him in the face.
"Just because I'm doing this one thing for you doesn't mean in any circumstance that I still don't hate you, in my eyes you are still an evil twat, nothing more!" I exclaimed, raising my voice when I spoke. I looked at my watch for a second and saw the time 10:20, and gasped in horror, then in a flash I grabbed Daniel's wrist, suddenly realising where we were supposed to be!
"Ow ow ow, get off my arm, stop pulling me, I can walk myself!" Screeched Daniel, frantically moving his arm to try to pull it out of my grasp. I let go of his arm.
"Well then if you can walk yourself, I suggest you walk with me towards the dining room for breakfast considering we are 20 minutes late and Mrs Aldine will be worried about where we are!" I said in the calmest voice possible, despite the growing stressed feeling I began to feel inside, before bolting down the corridor in the direction of the dining hall. He immediately followed me towards the hall for breakfast.
The hall was a huge disappointment, it was much smaller than I had imagined, with most tables squished as close together as possible. The white paint chipped walls also covered the dining room as they did the rest of the hotel, and the hall was filled with a few old, and almost broken dusty lamps. As Daniel and I walked towards the table, the floorboards creaked underneath me as I walked, making a terrible squeaking sound everywhere we walked. It was enough to drive anyone mad!
When I reached the table with Daniel, I saw James, madly waving at me, pointing towards an empty chair he saved next to him, whilst Daniel made his way to the other end of the table for the only other empty chair.
Before we reached the chairs, Mrs Aldine appeared behind us, grabbing us both by the shoulder, and turning us around to see her bright red angry face. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her hair was a mess, she was panting heavily almost like she had been running!
"Where the hell were you two!" She screeched in our faces "I ran round and round the school looking for you two, you were no where to be found, and I though you had been kidnapped," she said in a very fast and frantically, huffing and puffing as she spoke.
"We were err…." I didn't know how to finish my sentence, I couldn't exactly explain what exactly happened otherwise Mrs Aldine would know that we still have our wands!
James then leapt to his feet waving his hand in the air so Mrs Aldine could see him then spoke "excuse me miss but I know exactly where they were, Daniel here was doing a spot of baby sitting for one of the other guests, and lily and I realised he was going to be late so lily with her kind heart went to go and get him!" Explained James, who didn't actually realise part of his story was true, he had just made it up on the spot.
"Very well then, I guess I can except that," then Mrs Aldine turned to Daniel and smiled "it's just so great how you are embracing muggles into your life, I'd love to meet the family!"
Daniel half heartedly smiled back, not at all happy with this suggestion, he wanted to be free of that family, but he guessed at this rate it wasn't going to happen. "Sure" he said in a dull voice, walking towards his chair and slumping into it, putting his head in his hands, wanting to scream at how horrible this holiday was turning out!
Meanwhile I sat down in my chair and said "phew!" I was so relieved James saved us. I hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek, smiling.
"Thanks for saving us," I smiled "but how did you know that I found Daniel looking after a little girl in one of the rooms?" I asked wondering how James somehow managed to make up an accurate story without me telling him anything.
"Wait you are telling me that what I said was true…" James smirked, then all of a sudden bust out laughing, and tears of joy began to roll from his eyes, then everyone stared at him. He was getting several weird looks across the table. He stopped and went "sorry, lily just said something funny," to the whole table. Everyone simultaneously turned back to what they were doing except Daniel, who gave James a glare. He knew the laugh was probably about him!
