*Derek's POV*

I pull up my pants, zipping them up, and walk the girl to the front door after agreed that it was time for her to leave. Vanessa had been denying me for the last three weeks and it has been hell. At first, I thought that maybe it was her time and it made her not want to. But then I realized, that she really was just turning me down and I don't understand why. Vanessa had always wanted us to have sex and now she doesn't want to anymore.

"Thanks for tonight." The blonde girl says when she turns to face me. She had a sparkle in her eye that announced satisfaction. "Maybe we should meet up more often."

"That sounds perfect." I told her with a smile and made sure that we exchanged numbers and agreed on a day to meet up again before I watched her leave.

It wasn't until about an hour later that my dad came home. He greeted me when he walked through the door and asked how my day was before going to the kitchen to get something to eat for dinner.

"Do you want me to cook something or you want to order take out?" He asked from the kitchen.

"What do we have to cook?" I asked when I walked into the kitchen.

Looking back in the fridge he groaned. "Not much. We have some chicken and potatoes. We also have some rice in the cabinet. We're going to have to go to the supermarket tomorrow to get some more food."

"We'll order some take out then, so we don't waste the bit that we have here." I answered.

"Sounds good. Look at the menu and let me know what you'd like." He said as he closed the fridge and loosened up his tie.

As I go to look at the menu, dad looks through his phone and smiles when he gets a new message. I look at him as he reads the message and quickly replies to it before putting down the phone and thinking about something. After figuring out what I wanted, I handed him the menu, telling him what I wanted, and saw him dial the number as he looked over the menu himself before someone on the other end answered.

"I'm going to go take a shower." He says after hanging up and putting the menu away. "I'll be down in a bit."

"You okay, dad?" I asked him, noticing that he has been a lot calmer than he usually is.

"Yeah, I'm good." He replies with a smile. "I just have something on my mind, is all.

I watched as he walked up the stairs and heard him close his door. I sighed and sat down on the couch and watched some television. Something was different about him and I didn't know why. Maybe it was the divorce that he was now going through with Leah's mother. They had been together for a while before getting married, but even though they were together, that still didn't stop him from cheating. This 'affair' as some would call it, that he has with Vanessa has been the longest time that he's gone with just one person and that was a shocker, even to me. He's never stayed this long with someone without straying. At least, that's how it ended up.

Dad came back downstairs in a pair of basketball shorts and a grey wife beater, showing his large muscles. He took a seat next to me and surprisingly didn't say much about a show that I decided to watch as we waited for the food to come.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

He looks over at me. "I'm good. There's nothing wrong."

"Is it about Vanessa?" I ask.

My dad looks over at me and furrows his eyebrows. "Nope. How come the two of you don't hang around each other like you used to?"

"I don't know." I replied, letting out a sigh. "She has been turning me down over the last three weeks. Vanessa hasn't been doing that to you?"

"No, not really other than that one week." He replied.

"Is it okay if I bring another girl around?" I asked.

He looked over at me seriously. "Don't be getting into the habit of bringing all of these girls into the house, Derek."

"I'm not, dad." I tell him without mentioning that I already have a girl in mind, after tonight, to come back. "It's just, I need to get off somehow and my hand can only do so much."

"Do you have condoms?" He asks.

"Yes, sir." I tell him reassuringly. "Does Vanessa know about the divorce?"

"Yeah, she knows." He tells me. "I told her the same day that I found out."

I looked at the door when the doorbell rang and saw my dad getting up and going over to the door. He pulled out his wallet when he saw the it was the delivery guy with our food in his hands. They exchanged a few words and a small smile before my dad closed the door and came back in as I followed him into the kitchen to get the food out and ready to eat.

"I'm guessing she took to it well." I add when he says nothing about her reaction.

"At first she was a bit iffy about it and I completely understand." He tells me. "There's guys out there who have affairs and then they tell this women that they're going to leave the wife or the girlfriend and they end up continuing to stay with the wife or the girlfriend so I understand why she was iffy about it. I showed her all of the documentations stating that Tina filed for divorce and that I wasn't going to fight it. I still won't fight it. We have a hearing coming up to officially start the process. Since we weren't married long and we don't have any kids together, there's not really much for us to try to split up."

"Did you sign a prenup?" I asked.

"Yes." He replied as we both sat down to begin eating. "She didn't want to at first, but eventually agreed to it a few days after I showed it to her. Now as far as this house goes, because she didn't want to put her name on it along with mine, it's just my name that is on this house. So I doubt that she'll be able to have this house, but I was considering moving out anyways."

"Do you really want to move out of this house, dad?" I ask him, looking at his expression as it slowly changes into one of thinking. "There are a lot of memories in this house since we came here."

"I know, but with you moving out at the end of the summer to go to college, I'm going to be here by myself." He says. "It's a really big house and I'm sure that there's another family out there who will need this much space more than I do."

"You don't want anymore kids?" I ask, almost surprised.

He shrugged. "I'm not 18 anymore, Derek. How many more kids will I be able to have?"

"You and mom had me when you were both 19 years old. I'm sure you'll still be able to have at least one more." I say and earned myself a look from him.

"Don't worry about me, especially when it comes to kids." He says. "I'll be fine."

I decided to not say anything about. I knew that he was just going to keep saying that he was going to be fine. "So what are you going to do when the divorce is final?"

"I'll probably take some time for myself and then when I get myself together, I'll see what happens." He replies. "By the time that happens, Vanessa will probably already be in college, so we'll see what happens."

I could tell by the look on his face, that he didn't like the sound of that and it made me wonder about what was really going on with the two of them. Hell, it made me wonder if he was still interested in the whole Leah and Dean thing that he and Vanessa had going on or if he was more interested in something else that was now taking his attention away from those two.

"What are we going to do about Leah and Dean?" I ask him.

"I don't know. I was still thinking about doing what we had planned." He tells me. "You got any other plans?"

I shrugged and shook my head. "No, not yet anyways."

*Dean's POV*

"That's too expensive." I tell Roman as we go look at a few things.

"What do you mean, it's expensive?" He asked.

"Ro, I don't have a lot of money like you do." I tell him. "I wish I did so that I could buy her this, but I don't."

"Then I'll get it for you." He says.

"No, you're not." I tell him immediately. "I am not letting you do that. It's too much money. I want it to be genuine and for her to know and feel that it came from me."

He sighed. "You're insistent on getting that one because you know she's going to love it. Let me help you. You've been helping out a lot with the party that we're going to have at the end of the summer, and I want to repay you for that. Besides, it is going to be from you."

"Yes, but this is too much money, Roman." I plead with him. "And you've helped me out a lot this year. This is too much of me to ask of you."

"You're not asking, Dean." He says to me. "And you don't have to because I'm offering. Let me help."

"How am I going to pay you back?" I asked him. "This is a lot of money that I don't have right now and you know that."

"You don't have to pay me back." He says to me, with a serious look on his face.

I looked at him. "Wait, yes I am. If you do this for me, I'm going to pay you back. I'll find a way to do it, even if it's in payments or something. I'm not going to let you spend all this money on me and me not pay you back. I'll just get her something simple. I know you're just trying to help, but it's so much money." I say as I look down.

Roman gave me a small smile. "Okay, how about this: let's look for something more affordable that we know Leah will love. Let's look at our options and see what we can get. We have until the day of the party and that's a good amount of time to save up some money and to plan this to be a romantic day for the two of you. If you still want to get that one for her when the time comes to buy it, then we'll get it. But you have enough time. Just don't take too long trying to decide on one thing if you want to do it before we all go to college."

"Thanks." I tell him softly as I smile to myself before we walk out.

We see the girls walking around and hope that they didn't notice what store we had just walked out of, to not ruin anything of the surprise. Walking up to each other, we greeted each other before I took Leah in my arms. Her long brown hair was in a ponytail as she wore a beige dress that reached her knees and sandles.

"Hey." She said with a big smile on her face as her arms wrap around my neck.

"Hey." I reply with a smile of my own as I lean down to give her a kiss before it turned into sharing a few more kisses.

Leah touched my nose with hers and smiled up at me. I couldn't help but smile at her. I gave her another kiss before placing one on her cheek and keeping her in my arms as her hands moved down my arms and rested there as she laid her head on my chest.

"You two are so cute together." Naomi said as she stood next to Jimmy.

I looked down at Leah and saw her cheeks turn into a slightly shade of pink as she dug herself into me. I chuckled softly and kissed her head.

"Where are you guys off too?" Asked Brittney as the girls all looked at us. Because Roman, the twins and myself were going to look at a few things, the girls decided to spend the day together and have a girls day.

"We're going to go get haircuts." Roman said calmly and we followed his lead. Even though it was true, we still didn't want them to know about the whole thing. "What about you?"

"Manicures and pedicures." Said Naomi, probably not noticing much. "We're all still meeting up for dinner tonight, right?"

"Yes ma'am." Said Jimmy as he smiled at his girlfriend and kissed her cheek.

After a few more minutes, we walked the girls to the nail salon that was nearby. Leah and I stayed behind as we happily held hands before she gently tugged on my arm.

"Our lease ends next week, we still don't where we're going to go." She whispers to me.

"I got it under control." I tell her reassuringly. "Roman agreed to let us stay with him."

"Are you sure?" She asks me. "I don't want to burden him or his parents."

"It'll be okay. We can stay with him and now that we're working, at least we'll be out doing something instead of just being there all day." I tell her. "We'll help out around the house like we used to do when we were there before. And this gives us a better chance at saving up some more money before we leave to Florida for school. AND he's going to make sure that we can stay in the same room together instead of having two separate rooms like last time."

Leah looked up at me with her beautiful blue/grey eyes and I fell into them. I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her softly. "Look, I don't want us to go back to living that lifestyle of being homeless and sneaking into places so that we can sleep. I want to be able to provide for you. I know it's hard to go from place to place and I know that you don't ask for anything, but it's better than being out on the streets like we used to be. You're my girlfriend, I want to make sure you have a roof over your head. I want to make sure you're okay and that you're happy."

"I'm happy with you." Leah tells me softly.

I give her a smile. "I'm happy with you, too. I love you."

"I love you, too." She replies before we share a few more kisses. "Have a good time with the guys, okay?"

I nodded. "Okay and you have a good time with the girls."

We shared one more kiss before I let her go with the girls. I went with the guys as we made our way to the car.

A/N: Now that the divorce between John and Leah's mother will officially begin, do you think that this can open the door for anything between Vanessa and John to happen? Will this hinder anything that they may have planned against Leah and Dean? What do you make of the reaction that Derek got from his father when John said that Vanessa would be in college by the time he got himself together? Will he realize something that they may not be seeing? What about Dean looking for something with Roman and the twins? Will he allow Roman to financially help him get something for Leah? What about the two of them moving back in with Roman once their lease on their apartment is over?
