The Plan

2nd September 2001, The White House, 10:05 AM

Arthur Helmsley was sitting at the situation table. He was sitting there along with the head and deputy head of the Aurors, Scott Parson, and Andrew Malfoy. There was also the head of the Magical section of the CIA, Richard Goldman. There were worried faces all around, none of the visitors knowing why they were here. As they were getting ready, or at least attempting to get ready for whatever was going to happen when the doors were opened, and the President walked in. They stood up. "Keep your seats." As they sat down, Bartlet threw a muggle phone, and Arthur saw a small sneer on Malfoy's face. "A day ago, I received a text from my daughter in England, telling me that her headmaster has removed her guards." At this, the Minister was struggling to keep his mouth shut. "I brought you here so that we can decide what to do. I want three plans, one from you Minister, one from the Auror department, and one from the CIA. You have an hour." At that, they all stood, and Bartlet left, leaving them all to their thoughts.

After one hour, Arthur was certain that he had a plan ready for action, he knew his people, and hopefully, his deputy head Auror should support it once he had heard it, but he had seen the other three talking about a plan together, and he knew that he was probably going to get shutdown. When the President walked in again, they all stood, expecting to sit down again, and where surprised when they weren't. "I asked for three plans. Scott, what do you have for me?"

"Well Andrew, Richard, and I have the same plan sir. We want to send in a few special troops, and move your daughter out of Hogwarts, and recommend that she enrol in an American School. If our daughter is being effectively held hostage in another country, we have to react in a way which says we will not take this."

"Okay, your turn Arthur."

"Well sir. My plan is that we do not send in any military. We would cause a diplomatic disaster. I happen to believe that Andrew here is related to a member of the board of governors at Hogwarts. We could use him to keep an eye on your daughter and hopefully use him to call for security if needed." As he finished, Bartlet was standing there thinking.

"Is this true Andrew?"

"Yes sir, I'm related to Lucius. Distantly but close enough."

"Very well. Get it done but, if this doesn't work out I will get her out." Bartlet said, as he walked out again.

2nd September, Hogwarts, 12:30 PM

After the end of the morning of classes, everyone was in the hall, eating lunch and talking about their day. Except one. Amelia Bartlet was simply reading a book, whilst having a small helping of steak pie which in front of her. "Come on Amy, you've got to eat at some point." Draco said, trying to load more food on to her plate.

"Draco stop it, I am trying to read."

"You can do it later, for now, just have some food, you must be hungry." Draco whined, still not giving up.

"Ok, ok. God help you if there is no food." Amy said, putting down her physics book, and picking up her fork. Draco picked it up, and then frowned questioningly.

"What is physics?" He asked, and Amy turned to look at him.

"Muggle science, understanding how things work. You wouldn't get it."

"Why are you still reading muggle books? You're a witch now. You don't need them" A girl across from them asked.

"My dad doesn't think that I should close my options of living in the muggle world afterwards, especially when a very annoying family is pestering me all the time."

"Oh ok. Potter is a bit annoying. Pansy Parkinson." She said, reaching her hand over the table.

"Amelia Bartlet." Amy said back, shaking her new friend's hand. At that moment, the doors to the great hall opened, revealing someone who reminded Amy of Draco. He walked up to the staff table, and whispered something to Dumbledore. He then walked into the antechamber at the side, with Dumbledore, Snape, and the two Potter teachers following him.

"Lucius, what can I do for you?" Dumbledore asked as they stepped inside, Snape closing the door as he did so.

"It has come to my attention that Mr Bartlet's daughter has had her protection removed. I am simply asking why?"

"Because it was not necessary. Our daughter has nothing to fear here." Lily said, and Lucius turned to her.

"She has nothing to fear? Sounds like you are a few years behind the times Mrs Potter, as you do not have a daughter. Referring to someone else's daughter as your own might be interpreted as a cause for concern."

"With respect Lucius, how do you know that I removed them? As far as I am aware, the board did not know of any guards."

"Then you are a fool Headmaster. You know that the board agreed unanimously to let her bodyguards protect her around the school. The information that I have received that the school removed them was from my cousin in America, who heard it himself from the President. He was very close to attacking the school if I'm not interpreting the information incorrectly." At that, Dumbledore visibly paled. "However that is neither here nor there. The board is meeting on September 12th to discuss who will be allowed to guard her. American and English Aurors are being considered. You may even submit a list if you want Headmaster. Until then, I have selected someone to watch her. Until next time Dumbledore." He finished, before he walked into the Great Hall, and motioned to his son to meet him outside. Draco got up and excused himself, before walking quickly to join his father.

"Father."

"Draco, Ms Potter is unguarded until September 12th. You have until then to administer the potion."

"Yes father, but if we are caught, won't they know it was us."

"No Draco, I myself found a discreet Potions Master, who has been able to modify it so that when tested it does not show the job it does, or who it directs it towards. It will take a master in order to spot it on any magical test. We are safe."

"Yes father." Draco said, and walked back in. Lucius smiled, and walked away, happy that his plan was underway.
