Disaster

September 11th 2001, The White House

"Good morning Mr President."

"Good morning Mrs Landingham. Are they in there?"

"Yes sir." Mrs Landingham replied, handing him a pile of papers, before sitting down at her desk. Jed then entered the office, and everyone stood up.

"Be seated. What have we got today?"

"There is a vote for a education bill going we should win today." Josh said.

"But your main thing is that school visit you have at ten." Leo said, and Jed looked up.

"I have a school visit?"

"No, you are going to the school."

"Since when was I doing that?"

"Since last Wednesday Mr President." C.J said, and Jed looked at her in confusion.

"What?"

"We needed some PR, and a school visit is always good."

"What am I going to be doing?"

"It's a first grade visit, so you'll just be reading them a book and asking any questions they have." As C.J finished speaking, the door opened.

"FBI on the line sir, its urgent."

"Thank you Mrs Landingham. If that's all people." Jed said, dismissing the group, before picking up the phone. "What is it?"

"Mr President, we have a problem."

"What problem."

"We have three planes have gone off course sir, and are heading for an unknown location. We will keep you updated as we get our news sir."

"Very good." Jed said, and went into Leo's office.

A few minutes into their conversation, the news channel changed location, and Leo gasped. Jed turned around and looked at it. "God help us all."

September 11th 2001, London

Lily Potter was walking through muggle London. Although she didn't go out to it very often, she still liked to shop there from time to time, and she had no teaching periods for the next hour or so. After all, there were a lot of things you could get here which you couldn't get in Diagon. As she crossed the road, she spotted a crowd of people outside one of the stores. She approached it, and started to push through the crowd, until she could see what was going on. She gasped as she watched, and ran off to find a spot to apparate from. James needed to know.

September 11th 2001, Hogwarts

Lessons were just restarting at Hogwarts. Draco and the Slytherins were sitting down in their Defence class. Many of the Slytherins resented the two Potter parents, as the rumour was abound the house that it was their fault that Amelia had left. Draco had started the rumour, and it had done nothing but grown since then. Even some Ravenclaws were hearing about it. As James Potter walked in, he did not move to the front of the class. "If the Slytherin students would like to follow me to the Great Hall, there is an announcement to make." Potter said, shakily, and Draco noticed that his hands were shaking. If there was any news, it couldn't be good.

"What is going on?" Pansy asked, and Potter looked straight at her.

"It is not for me to say. Just know that it is important. Harry, if you could come as well please." Draco paled as he said that. There was only one reason that Harry Potter would need to go as well.

As the first years entered the Great Hall, they noticed that it was mostly only Slytherin House. The only others that were in the hall were the Potters, Snape, Dumbledore, and several prefects from each of the other houses. The hall quietened as Dumbledore approached the pulpit. "As Slytherin House could be the most affected by this news, I have summoned them all, as the incident could involve one of their former students. However, prefects are here in order to carry the news to the other houses. New York has been attacked by an unknown group. The reason I am saying this is because it is inevitably, a highly populated magical area. However, the main reason for the whole of Slytherin house to be here, is that we believe that Amelia Potter was at school in the area. If any of you have contact with her, please see if you can get some correspondence through. Even though she is no longer here. Hogwarts will be here to support her. Classes for all houses are cancelled. If you have friends or family in America, or if anyone in your house does, please tell them they are free to contact them. Thank you."

With that, Dumbledore ushered the hall out.

Dumbledore was smirking as they left. "Why are you smiling Headmaster. People are dying, and my daughter among them!" Lily shouted, and Dumbledore raised his hands.

"Peace Lily. If my information is correct, then Amelia is currently somewhere else, so there is no worry for her. As for my smiling, I know that some people in Slytherin did become great friends with her in the week she was here. If I can get a tracker on the letter, we can find her." Dumbledore said. The Potters nodded, and left.

Down in Slytherin, Draco was pacing. "Draco sit down." Daphne said, getting annoyed at his constant walking.

"But what if she is hurt or injured?"

"Draco sit down!" Pansy shouted, and Draco looked at her coldly, before sitting down.

"We need to think about this." said Blaise Zabini. "Why would Dumbledore only call Slytherin house to this. If he was going to tell people, why not tell the school?" The group of four was silent for a moment.

"There are two possibilities." Draco said. "One is that the Potters still have some sort of sense of caring for their child."

"Or the more likely option that they hope one of us will send her a letter in the hopes that they will find her." Pansy stated, earning a nod from them.

"Right. I am going to send two letters. One to father, and one to Amy. I'll send them both to my father first, and then he can send the one to Amy on." Draco said with finality, and walked away.

September 11th 2001, Texas Academy of Magic

"Amy, wake up." Were the words that Amy awoke to. It was eight o'clock, and most people were already awake.

"What time is it?"

"Just gone eight, listen get dressed, and come down to the breakfast hall. Something has happened." A voice she recognized as Eleanor's said, before she heard the door shut. She got up, and went to have a quick shower, before getting dressed and going down. As she entered, she gasped at the large TV that was hanging on the wall.

"A second plane has just crashed into the towers, this crashing into the south tower, and there is panic on the streets here in New York. There has been no official response from either the White House or the Pentagon on the situation. If you are just joining us here at Fox News ..."At that, Amy did the best thing she could do. She started to cry.

September 11th 2001, The White House

"America, I speak to each and every one of you today. This morning, two planes were crashed into the towers of the World Trade Center, killing as of yet unidentified number of people. The Pentagon has also been attacked, and a fourth plane crashed before reaching its target. Already, there is evidence that these attacks have been carried out by trained agents, who are deliberately trying to destabilize these United States. They have attempted to scare us, in order to achieve their goals. This shall not happen. I call upon all Americans to be vigilant in this time of crisis. My hearts, and those of America, are with those who have lost family members and loved ones. However we shall not give in to acts of terror, and I believe, that with you, the people of America, we can win this war on terror."
