"You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom"
OC in this chapter, via Itachi's girlfriend. The one who was never named.
Everyone meet Lila Uchiha. And a jealous young Sasuke.
Itachi: Age 11
Sasuke: Age 6
"Sasuke, this is Lila."
The six year old narrowed his eyes at the memory that only happened three days ago.
"She's my... Eh, well...girlfriend."
Sasuke remembered tilting his head in confusing as he stared at the girl, who had her arm wrapped around his nii-san's left one. Lila gave him a smile and waved to him. She looked at Itachi and he gave her one that meant he was truly happy.
An emotion he's never felt before shot through his heart, he felt angry.
Jumping up he grabbed a hold of his aniki's free hand and yanked on it. "My nii-san!" He announced possessively, as he glared at Lila and pouted.
The eleven year old only smiled at his otouto, taking his hand away from Sasuke's grip and ruffled the boy's black hair. "Don't worry, otouto. I'll still spent time with you, I promise.
When will that be? You haven't spent any time with me these last three days. You've only been with her. Lila, she was basically taking his aniki away from him, and for that he hated her. but he didn't understand why, he was never liked this when his nii-san was around Shisui, so why was he feeling this emotion towards a girl that looked so kind?
The six year old decided to ask about the situation he was in. "Mother?"
Mikoto Uchiha looked up from the book she was reading. "What is it, sweetheart?"
Sasuke was a little hesitant for a few minutes. "It's just- Every time I see nii-san with Lila, I get this weird feeling in my heart, and I don't know why. Is there something wrong with me, mother? Am I sick? I don't have a fever do I?"
His mother's eyes widened for a second then they softened as she smiled. "No, honey your not sick, you don't have a temperature. What your feeling is an emotion called jealousy."
"Jealousy?" Sasuke repeated confused. "What's jealousy?"
Mikoto ruffled his hair. "It's what you feel when someone is trying to take what's yours."
Takes away what's yours? "How do I get rid of it?" The child asked, curiously.
His mother smiled a second time. "All you need to you is that no matter what you think, Itachi will always be your big brother, girlfriend or not. He'll never forget you."
"Okay! Thank you, mother!" Sasuke stated, feeling a lot better now that he has gotten an explanation to his question.
"Your welcome, Sasuke." Mikoto leaned down and kissed his forehead. The younger Uchiha smiled at his mother, he stood up and walked out of the room.
Mother's right.. I was silly to think that nii-san would ever stop spending time with me. Sasuke thought to himself. Feeling a little guilty that he thought that way about Itachi.
"I'll go apologize." He whispered. But how? A simple: 'I'm sorry.' Won't do, what else could he do to not only apologize but to show Itachi how much he meant to him?
Then it hit him, one of the many memories that he cherished with his big brother.
"Sasuke, wake up."
The four year old child groaned tiredly. He stubbornly did not open eyes black eyes. After a minute he felt a hand rest on his shoulder, it gently shook him. "Otouto, your so stubborn."
Realizing then that his was his brother, Sasuke cracked open his eyes. "Nii-san?" He asked curiously. Itachi smiled at his otouto, his index finger lightly glided over Sasuke's cheek, the boy giggled softly as it tickled and made him smile. "Come with me, Sasuke. I have something for you." Itachi stated his voice above a whisper.
"What is it?" The younger child asked. "Where are we going, aniki?"
Itachi just grinned as he stood up and walked towards the door. "You'll see."
The two brothers quietly snuck outside so as to not walk their late sleeping parents up, when Itachi then made his little brother close his eyes. With his arm around Sasuke's shoulders he lead him to their destination.
Then they stopped.
"Okay, Sasuke. Open your eyes."
Doing as he was told, Sasuke open them and immediately was taking in the sight of the morning sun rise. It was so pretty. Beautiful. They actually were high enough to here they could see it slowly peaking out of the mountain.
The sight was mesmerizing. He never wanted to look away.
"Here, otouto." Sasuke heard his big brother say. The scenery he was gazing at was suddenly blocked by something being waved in his face. Impulsively, he jerk his head back in surprise. Calming down when he realized what Itachi had offered him.
It was a Dango stick.
He took it and started to nibble at his treat as he continued to watch the sunrise. "Aniki?" Sasuke looked up at Itachi.
"Hmm?" Itachi hummed out as he looked down.
As peaceful and beaitiful as this was, he had a question. "Why did you bring me here?"
The older of the two boy's chuckled softly. "I thought you'd like to see a sunrise. I also wanted to spend some time with my little brother."
Upon hearing those words Sasuke's heart filled with warmth, he moved to his right. Laying his head on his nii-san's chest, right where his heart was. Itachi immediately put his arm around his otouto and pulled him close.
"Glad I woke you up?"
Sasuke nodded. Leaning closer into his nii-san. "Thank you, nii-san."
His big brother signed peacefullymas he rubbed Sasuke's shoulder.
"Your welcome, Sasuke."
Yes. That was perfect. That's what Sasuke will do. Although the sun will soon be setting not raising, it is still beautiful either way. Smiling, practically jumping with excitement, he ran out of his house and down the street of his Village.
Their had been a massive line when the six year old got to the store that sold Dango sticks, some new recipe all the kids and their mothers wanted to try, so by the time Sasuke got his treats for Itachi and himself, the sun was beginning to decend into the mountains.
It's only just starting. Still have enough time to find my aniki. Sasuke thought with grin on his young face.
The child looked and looked around his Village but couldn't find his brother. Where could he have gone? Sasuke chanced a looked at the sky, and he was filled with disappointment, the sun had set in his search for Itachi.
Oh well he and I can still-
"Oh Itachi, that was wonderful!" A familiar voice said. Looking up he saw that it was Lila and his Nii-san. The younger boy smilled. "Nii-!"
"That sunset gorgeous! I couldn't tear my eyes away from it, I'm surprise I didn't hurt them by staring too long and that Dango stick? Delicious! This was so peaceful, thank you."
"Your welcome, love." Came Itachi's reply.
Sasuke felt his heart plumit to his stomach. He stood there like a statue. His aniki had taken Lila to see the sunset? He had taken her and left Sasuke behind?
T-This was our memory! Our moment we cherished together! And you spent it with her? You held her? Nii-san!? How could you about forget our memory!? How could you- could you forgot about me!
Hot, broken tears spilled for his eyes. His mother was wrong. Itachi had forgotten him. Forgotten and replaced him with... Lila. The Dango sticks fell from his hands and landed on the ground with a rathe, strangely loud plop!
Itachi heard this strange noise and turn his head away fro his girlfriend and saw his otouto standing there, wearing a heart broken expression. Stopping in his tracks, he instantly became concerned. What happened? Did some bully his precious brother while he was on his date with Lila?
"Otouto? What's-?"
Sasuke bolted the other direction.
His black eyes widened in shock. "SASUKE!" He yelled. Letting Lila's arm go and immediately ran after the six year old. "SASUKE! Stop!"
But Sasuke didn't stop, he wouldn't until he was far away from his big brother as possible. Out of nowhere, a hand grasped his shoulder, he jerked back and tried to get away because he knew who it was.
"Stop! Sasuke! Calm down, otouto. It's me."
Yeah, I know. Let me go! Sasuke wanted to say but stayed silent. "Why would you run away from me, otouto? You know I'd never hurt you." He felt a hand brush his cheek, jumping back he tried to get out of Itachi's grip.
"Let go! Let go!" He announced, tears falling down his face harder then ever. "Y-You don't need me! You have Lila!" His body started shaking from how badly he was sobbing. "How could you!? You took her to watch the sun fall. You took her and not me! That was our memory! It was just the two of us, just us! Watching the sunset or raise together! Why did you do that!? Why did you have to forget me!" He stated loudly as he squeezed his eyes shut, his sobbing now combined with violent hiccups.
Itachi's eyes widened. His heart cracking as listened to his brothers words. He thinks that I... Because I took Lila to watch the sunset? Itachi never realized adding Lila to their memory would hurt his otouto that much. But really he should have, he should have known that Sasuke was feeling this way. And the eleven year old couldn't blame him, he has been, after all, spending the last three days with Lila. And here he was saying he would still spend time with Sasuke.
Tears formed and fell down Itachi's face as he realized and regretted his mistake. Cupping the child's face in his hands, he laid his forehead against his little brother's. "Otouto! Don't ever say such a thing again! I could never forget you! Please, forgive me for not realizing how you would feel if I added someone else when you were so use to having just you and me, without asking for your consent... I'm sorry, Sasuke! I'm so so sorry, otouto!"
And he waited, waited to see if his brother would indeed forgive him and his actions. Itachi knelt there for what felt like an eternity.
Then he felt small, chubby hands grasp his arms. Sasuke's hands and body shook as he held on for dear life. "N-Nii-san!" That word, that choked out, broken word was all he needed. Itachi moved his hands away from his brothers cheeks and proceeded to wrap them around him, and pulled him close, in a safe fierce embrace.
His otouto returned the hug, desperately. He clung around Itachi as a baby Koala would do with it's mother. "Big brother! I'm sorry!"
Wrapping his arms around Sasuke tighter, he placed a small kiss on the boy's temple. "No, this is my fault. Please, Sasuke. Never think I'll forget you, that will never happen! If I ever move away, or I get married someday, have children of my own, I won't ever lose my thoughts of you, I could never forget my precious otouto."
Hearing those words, Sasuke cried all the harder. Thank god, thank god his big brother was still here and honestly saying he won't forget him.
"Aniki?" Sasuke's voice and body were exhausted from all the emotional pain he put it through.
"Yes?" Itachi whispered back.
"Do you really like Lila?"
The eleven year old smiled, as he thought of Lila, he has never felt this way towards any other girl, except for Lila. Who was different then all the other Uchiha girls that were the same age. She was kind, passionate, driven, honest- sometimes blunt. He did, he truly, honest did like her. And if time went on, maybe something more.
"I do. She's amazing."
Sasuke smiled against the older Uchiha. "Okay." And just like that, everything was fine. Letting out a huge yawn, he felt himself beginning to fall asleep.
Itachi laughed out softly. "Come on, little brother. Let's get going. Mother is probably worried about you." He said standing up, as he held Sasuke in place against his chest. In an instant, the child wrapped his short legs around his nii-san's waist. Not completely ready to let go just yet, and honestly neither was Itachi.
"Big brother..." Sasuke stated sleepily as he nuzzled his head against the older boy'a neck.
"Hmm?"
"..."
Itachi smiled as he heard Sasuke gentle snoring, indicating that Sasuke was fast asleep. Turning around, his black orbs locked on Lila who was standing a few feet away with her hand partially over her mouth, almost completely hiding her smile.
"Hey." He whispered out. "Sorry, you had to see that."
Lila shook her head as she quietly stepped toward him. "Don't be. Your his big brother. It's your job to be there for him and to love him."
"A job, I'll never regret or complain about."
Lila smiled, kindness in her gray eyes. "That's one of the many things I like about you, Itachi. Though I think I should apologize to Sasuke. I never meant to get between your guy's relationship. I would never want you to stop spending time with him."
"You didn't. It was just a misunderstanding, and a mistake I made about not asking Sasuke how he felt. I just hope he'll forgive me."
Lila laid her smooth hand on her boyfriends arm. "Do you honestly think he would be clinging to you if he didn't?"
Instinctively, his arms tightened around the child in his arms. "Thank you, Lila. For being so understanding. If anyone else saw what just happened they'd lecture us about showing weakness. and I know I've been told not too." He sighed annoyed by the law of a shinobi to not cry. "But whenever I'm around him, I can't help it."
"You otouto brings out the best of you." His girlfriend said a-matter-of-factly.
Itachi took a deep breathe and he nodded his head. "That he does."
"Brother..."
They both looked at six year old, who was talking in his sleep. "Love...yo...you..nii-san..." Itachi heart filled with warmth. Laying his cheek against his otouto'a head, he sighed contently. "I love you too."
Next to him, he heard a soft squeal. He gazed at Lila, who was grinning from ear to ear with a hand over her heart. "Aww! That was adorable! You both are so kawaii!"
The eleven year old's cheeks turn bright red, embarrassed by those words, he started making his way out of the alley they were in and down the streets.
His girlfriend giggled, slyly as she quickly caught up to him. "Don't be so embarrassed, darling. It was a compliment." She said still laughing, running a hand through his black hair.
Itachi smiled, but said nothing as he silently walked down the streets with Lila, holding his precious Sasuke, protectively in his arms.
AN: I always wonder what Itachi's girlfriend was like when I found out he had one, one that he was in love with and actually had to kill her! That must have been as painful as lying to Sasuke about why he killed their Clan and seeing the pain in his eyes.
I actually think that's really sad. He was able to kill everyone, even his girlfriend, the woman he was in love with, but he couldn't kill Sasuke?
Meh, maybe he told her what was going on and she just understood. Or maybe she found out and killed herself so he wouldn't have too. Sadly, we will never know.
Regardless if he was able too or not. It still broke him to bits and I still love him! ^w^
Anyway! A penny for your thoughts? Please leave them in a review and I'll see you all soon!
