This fic takes place in the future the events of Veritas accrued (so if you haven't seen it yet there will be spoilers). Castle and Beckett are married but the season finale is not part of this the wedding will be mentioned but it will be the way I image their wedding. Everything else is as is on the show.

Chapter 12: Daddy and Me

Kate was released from the hospital a few days ago she was laying in the huge bed in her and Castle's bedroom in the Hamptons trying to rest but it was hard with her arm in bandages and a sling. She brought Castle's pillow to her smelling him on it she held it close tears pricking her eyes. She hated Bracken he'd been destroying her life since she was 19, she thought she finally won when she arrested him, she thought she was safe, she thought throwing away her birth control on her wedding night was the best thing she ever did but now she wasn't so sure. Her good hand traveled down to her still flat stomach thinking back to her wedding night.

Kate stood in the huge bathroom adjoined to their huge bedroom she looked at herself in the mirror a wide smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes as she looked at the rings glisning on her ring finger. At that moment she made a decision she picked up her little compact containing her birth control pills and tossed them in the trash she adjusted her white lace see threw nighty showing her matching lace white panties and bra underneath she'd brought for tonight, her wedding night she smiled and opened the door walking over to the bed.

"Ah there's my beautiful bride" Castle pulls her to him on the bed kissing her.

"Rick wait" she pulls away gently "I want to tell you something" she bites her lip nervously.

"Kate? Are you okay" he asks seeing her bite her lip

"I'm fine" she nods

"Then what is it because as much as love talking to you there are things I'd much rather be doing on our wedding night" he grins winking at her.

She laughs "Rick I didn't take my pill" she replies softly

"But its our wedding night I want to make love to my gorgeous wife" Castle whines

Kate grins when he calls her his wife "Rick I threw my pills away I want us to have a baby" she leans in kissing him

Castle pulls away smiling "Kate are you sure I'd love to make babies with you but there's no rush we can wait until you're ready"

"I'm ready Rick I caught my mom's killer and I'm married to my favorite author now I want to have his baby give his amazing daughter a brother or sister" Kate looked into his blue eyes.

"I love you so much Mrs. Castle lets do it, lets make a baby" he pulls Kate close to him kissing her as he lays her on the bed and they begin to make love for the first time of many that night.

Tears filled Kate's eyes as she cradles her flat stomach "Mommy's so sorry baby sh..she thought yo..you'd be safe" she cries softy

"He or she will be Katie" a soft voice replied

Kate looked up seeing her dad standing there "Daddy" she whispered "wh..what have I..I done"

"What do you mean Katie" Jim sat on the bed with her.

"I..I'm bringing a child into the world that c..could lose its mom or dad o..or i..it might not get to be born at all" her body shook with tears.

Jim gently pulled his little girl into his arms being careful of the sling. "Katie do you know how happy your mom would be to see you happily married to an incredible man who loves you more than his own life with a beautiful daughter of your own with a second child on the way"

"R..Really you think mom would have loved Rick" she asked her head resting on her dad's chest.

"Are you kidding she would have loved Rick she read all of his books but most importantly he loves her baby girl, he saved her, he gave her back her smile and showed her how to love again" Jim smiles

"Rick is a special man Katie he waited for 4 years to have his love returned he was patient and caring I knew how he felt about you I told him once I know my Katie is complicated and hard to get to know but she loves you Rick please don't give up on her and he said I don't plan on ever giving up on her sir someday I'm going to marry her "he looks at his daughter's good hand the rings shining on it "I'm glad he did because I know my little girl and my grandchildren are safe as long as he's around"

"You really like Rick don't you daddy" Kate smiles

"No Katie I don't like Rick I love him he's the son I always wanted and he looks at you the way I used to look at your mother" Jim replies

"You wanted me to be a boy dad" she questioned

He laughs "No no I'm happy you were a girl but your mother and I did try for a boy but it never happened the doctor said the reason we couldn't get pregnant again was because there was too much damage from your birth so I thought I'd never have a son and I was okay with it but then you married Rick"

Fresh tears fill Kate's eyes "I'm scared daddy Bracken is still out there he'll keep coming after me until he gets me and he'll hurt you, Alexis or Rick to get to me all I keep thinking about is that day on the beach it could have been Jenny an..and Ryan would never forgive me but even worse it could have been Alexis and Rick h..he'd never forgive me" she cried into her dad's chest.

"Katie listen to me everyone is fine but had it been Alexis or Jenny, Kevin loves you and you know how much Rick loves you they would have known it wasn't your fault you weren't the one with a gun" Jim hugs her. "Why don't you try to get some rest" he ads when he feels her yawn against him.

"Okay" she nods "Daddy"she whispers "Will you lay with me like you did the night mom died" she asked quietly

"Of course sweetheart" Jim lays beside his daughter.

Kate smiles a little "Thank you dad I love you" she whispers closing her eyes.

"I love you too Katie, always" he kisses the top of her head.

Castle stands in the doorway of his bedroom smiling watching his wife and father in law it touched him when Jim said always. As a father himself he admired Jim. When Alexis first came home from Paris she had nightmares that someone kidnapped him or Kate killing them he spent a few nights in her bed comforting her the same way Jim was with Kate right now. He knew they'd all be okay they had a house filled with family willing to do anything to protect one another. He tip toed in the room placing a softly kiss on Kate's cheek whispering "I love you, always" before quietly leaving the room to star dinner knowing she and their growing baby would be hungry after her nap.

Author's Note: Hello Caskett lovers! I'm back! OMG I'm soo sorry I haven't updated in 2 months! I've been busy finding out my lil sis is expecting twins due on my birthday! Meeting Sandra Oh from Grey's Anatomy and Malcolm Jamal Warner from The Crosby show and I had a severe case of writer's block. Hmm I wonder what Castle does for writer's block lol. Anyway this is a filler chapter its mainly Kate talking with her dad and a flashback of Kate's thoughts on her wedding night which are in italics I hope this chapter is at least okay lol Oh and September 29th hurry up and get here and September 16th Season 6 on dvd Always deleted scene woohoo!
