This fic takes place in the future the events of Veritas accrued (so if you haven't seen it yet there will be spoilers). Castle and Beckett are married but the season finale is not part of this the wedding will be mentioned but it will be the way I image their wedding. Everything else is as is on the show.

How ever I do own all 6 seasons of Castle on DVD, all 6 Nikki Heat books, a calendar, a t-shirt and a Caskett wedding picture paper weight!
Chapter 18: Questions and Answers
Kate looked up at her mother in law "Ma..Martha i..its" she stopped.
"It's what dear?" Martha rubbed her back getting a bad feeling.
"I..it's not him, i..it's not Rick." she sobbed.
Martha sighed relieved that her only child wasn't lying in morgue. "If it's not Richard why are you so upset?" she asks.
"Th..There were similarities" Kate whimpered "Bracken k..killed him as a..a warning Martha n..next time it will be Rick."
"Oh phish posh." Martha waved her hand 'We don't know that the senator killed that poor man and even if he did Richard will be fine we'll find him."
Kate didn't say anything, her hand moved to her stomach. She hoped Martha was right she needs Rick, Alexis needs him, and so does the tiny life growing inside of her. She rubbed her flat stomach; she didn't want her child to grow up never knowing his or her father.
"Come on Katherine let's get you out of here." Martha offers her hand to her daughter in law.
Kate hesitates but takes her hand letting the older woman help her up. Esposito saw them come out of the bathroom. "Beckett, are you okay? Was it Castle? " he asked
"It wasn't Richard" Martha answered when Kate remained quiet. "She thinks it was a warning from the senator." she explained
"Well Mrs. Rodgers that could be possibility but the good thing is that means Castle is still alive." Esposito replied.
"Pleas call me Martha and I know you and Kevin will find Richard." Martha tells him.
"Stop it." Kate whispers
"Stop what dear?" Martha wonders.
"Stop pretending everything will be okay when we don't know that, It wasn't Rick in that room but he could still be dead!" Kate's voice quivers and tears fill her eyes.
"Yo Beckett you can't think like that Castle is crazy about you he'll fight to get back to you, Alexis and the baby, I know Ryan and I like to tease him but your husband is pretty smart and pretty tough he's gong to come home." Esposito tried to comfort her.
"He's right Katherine my son is fighter." Martha takes her hand "Now let's go back to the house so you can eat and take nap."
"I'm not hungry and I don't feel like sleeping." Kate frowns.
"I know darling but you need to take care of yourself and the baby besides you want to be able to give Richard a perfect homecoming."Martha winks. "And you can't do that if you aren't well."
Esposito groans "images of mom and dad I don't want to see"
"Mom and dad? What does that mean? Martha questions
Kate sighs "Esposito an Ryan like to joke around they call Rick and I mom and dad it kinda fits since the two of them act like little boys half the time"
"Oh we're little boys this from the one who married a 9 year old on sugar rush." Esposito teases.
Kate's eyes filled with tears again she actually loved her husband's childish side, she loved everything about him and all she wanted was to b back in his arms.
"I'm sorry chica I was just teasing." He apologizes
"I..I know Javi can we just go back now" she whispers.
"Of course kiddo." Martha puts her arm around Kate leading her out of the building.
When they arrive at the house everyone starts asking Kate questions but she just walks past everyone and goes upstairs to her and Castle's room. She curls up on the bed hugging his pillow to her chest and cries.
"Mom?"Alexis said quietly standing by the bed "Was it dad i..is he," tears filled her blue eyes.
Kate sat up "Come here sweetie." she held her arms out to her daughter.
Alexis crawls into Kate's arms and starts crying.
"Shh it's okay Alexis it wasn't your dad. "She rubbed the younger Castle's back.
"S..So if h..he's alive wh..where is he" Alexis asked.
"I don't know sweetie but I promise we'll find him." Kate hoped that was a promise she could keep she hoped her husband, Alexis's dad would come home soon. "Hey want to lay with me? "She knew Alexis was a grown woman but everyone needed comfort and to be honest she didn't want to be alone.
Alexis just nods and the two women lay down curling up together they both soon give in to exhaustion.
In a dark basement Castle sits tied to a chair. The door opens and Bracken walks in with another guy. They walk up to the writer. "Well Mr. Castle it seems your wife is one who doesn't give up she will find you but the question is will she find you dead or alive?" Bracken gets in his face.
"She'll never give you that tape asshole!" Castle snaps.
"Oh but she will! Or her favorite writer will die!" Bracken grabs his neck.
Castle's hands are tied so he spits in the senator's face angering him. "Bruno you know what to do!" he yells at the other guy in the room as he laves to wash off his face.
"It's just you and me now writer." Bruno snarls "Now you're gong to call the Mrs and tell the bitch to give the senator the tape!"
"I won't do that!" Castle snapped back.
"Oh yes you will!" Bruno unties one of his hands giving him a cell phone and puts a gun to Castle's head. "Now dial! " he demands hand on the trigger.
Castle has a plan he just hopes it will work he isn't very religious but he says a little prayer as he dials Kate's number.
