Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't updated in a really, really, really, long time! It took me awhile to come up with this chapter because I didn't have a good idea and no one, absolutely no one! Commented with ideas! Since I am a ninja master, (YES! I am!) I have come up with an awesome chap. For YOU! Can you believe that some people (awesomekittycat) do not think that I am a ninja master?! Can you believe it? Well then you are probably thinking: "Who is bookwrmgirl? Why is she a ninja master and I'm not? Why hasn't she started the story yet?" Well, I can't answer those because the story is about to start!
Chapter 5
(Pepper's POV)
I woke up with a splitting headache and a big scar on my arm. I looked around and found myself to be in a small room with no windows or furniture, with one scrawny light bulb hanging from the ceiling, it was nicely wallpapered though, I have to say. It was cold though, very cold, too cold, I'm shivering very badly and I think I might be sick, I needed a tissue bad, but until I find one, I'll have to use my sleeve.
I heard some shuffling outside the large metal door and tried to scoot farther towards the corner when the door opened to reveal a large, muscled man who stared at me as if I shouldn't be here.
"Did the boss sack someone last night?" he said to someone I couldn't see.
"Yea, Starks lady, trying to get somethin' out of her" someone said from down the hall.
I didn't really know if I should talk to them or just play dumb, I went with the other option, screaming.
After the guy left I started to scream, and scream, I didn't know how long I could keep it up. The guy yelled at me to shut up, but I persisted for about five more minutes, when another person started to unlock the door. I tried to move away, but my I couldn't support myself on my arm, I'm so weak, how long have I been here? I screeched in pain, which sounded too feminine and shy for the tough image I was trying to put up. I couldn't move. I was stuck leaning against the wall closest to the door. After the unlocking process was done, someone slipped into the room.
"Stop your screaming, the boss will be here soon." the person said, it was someone new.
As the person stepped into the light, I surprised to see that it was a woman, her hair was brown and in a braid along her neck. She wore black skinny jeans and a black leather jacket, with what looked like a silver shotgun hooked on her belt.
"What are you looking at?" she said with a confused expression.
I didn't answer her and she frowned.
"Dinner's in an hour, Red'll bring you something to do till then. And don't try to escape because the door has 15 locks, the boss says your "important". Anyway, you're gonna be here for a while, until the conference or something like that. Enjoy your stay."
She left and said something to the guy who I guessed was Red.
I barely heard it but I think she said something about "what can the boss possibly want with her" before I heard footsteps going up stairs.
I missed Tony so much, but I knew he would rescue me, at least I hoped he would.
About 15 minutes after my visit with the woman, I decided to call her Lany, she looked like a Lany, Red brought in a box and left. I scooted over to the box, only my left hand would work. Inside was a children's puzzle of Ironman, yarn, and a bottle of ketchup. On the back of the ketchup bottle was a note from Red.
I'm sorry I was ruf to you, I don't like being mean, but the boss is my dad and I has no choice. Please enjoy this ketchup, it's my favorit.
Red seemed nice, he probably just wasn't brought up right. I opened the puzzle box, it looked like it had been completed many times, the edges of the pieces were bent and frayed. I refused to busy myself with such childish things, but the yarn may come in handy later, I do know how to crochet.
After lots of boredom and a short nap, I found a plate on the floor, someone must have put it there when I was asleep. There was bread, corn, an apple, and a bottle of water. I guessed it wasn't poisoned, they said they needed me for something. The bread was hardly stale and the corn was only a little mushy. It didn't fill me up, but it sure did help. I took the yarn and started to finger knit it, it might keep me warm and it was more entertaining than staring at the wall and worrying. After a while I fell asleep, but woke up to the sound of someone screaming on the other side of the wall.
Thanks for reading! Please review, favorite, and follow! I would really like that, maybe my ninjaness will rub off on you! Bye!
