Mia Pov

I was talking to Shea when I heard the elevator door open and my dad was walking out of it. I knew he was drunk because he wasn't walking straight.

"Mia, what the hell are you doing here?" He asked me

My mom pulled me behind her. I looked at my dad and he started walking over to use. He wasn't walking straight that's when I knew that he was drunk. Before he could get to close this tall black guy got in between us and him.

"Man, you need to calm down." He told him

"You don't tell me what to do. Now I'm taking my daughter home." He said getting angry

"I'm not going with you." I tell him moving from behind my mom

"The hell you aren't. Mia get your ass over here." He tells me

He started walking toward me. I was slowly backing up from him.

"DANNY!" I heard my mom yell

He turned around and said "WHAT?!"

She walks over to him and pulls him into an interview room.

I finally told a breath that I didn't know that I was holding. I opened my eyes and saw that they were looking at me.

"What the hell is going on?" the tall black guy asked me

"Who are you?" I asked him

"I'm Charlie and this is my partner Ray. Now can you tell me what the hell is going on?" He said

"You can't help me I'll just be back with his and a few days I might as well just go with him now." I said

I walked to where my parents were. I walked in and said "I go."

"Smart choice kid, but don't think that you won't be punished for the stunt you pulled tonight." He said to me calmly but I could see in his eyes that I would be getting some new bruises tonight. I walked out and into the main part of the office. I walked over to the elevator and opened it. I was my mom and dad walk back in. My dad walked into the elevator with me and I saw the look in my mom eyes when Danny closed the door to the elevator. Once the doors were closed and we were heading down. He turned toward me and punched me in the stomach. I bent over and hugged on stomach in pain.

"You think that was bad just wait until we get home." He said with a smirk

Erica Pov

After I saw Mia and Danny leave I turn to a wall and punched it.

"Feel better?" Ray asked

"NO I DON'T FEEL BETTER!" I yelled

I took a deep breath and then said "Sorry Ray."

"Erica, what the hell is going on?" Charlie asked me

"Mia, has been in 10 different foster homes since I went to prison. She has been abused in every foster home she has been in and I am pretty sure that Danny is hitting her too." I explained to him

"Then why did she go with him knowing to he is going to beat her?" Lloyd asked

"Are you seriously asking me that question right now? She has nowhere else to. Of course she is going to go with him, and I'm pretty sure he already started hitting her in the elevator." I told them

I was pacing back and forth running my hands through my hair trying to figure out what I can do.

"Erica you need to calm down." Charlie told me

"How the hell can I calm down Charlie my baby girl is getting abused as we speak and I can't do anything about it." I said to him

"I'll call social service and get Mia out of there." Charlie tells me

"Are you serious, she is just going to end up right back with him by the end of the week! Do you really think that the law will finally be on my daughter and my side now of all time." I explained to him

"They aren't going to do shit." I said then grabbed my stuff and walked into the bathroom to get changed.

I pulled out my phone and called Mia.

When she pick up I asked "How much pain are you in?"

"Mommy it hurts to breath." She tells me I could hear her crying through the phone.

I knew when she called me mommy that she was in a lot of pain. Because she never calls me mommy unless she is in trouble or in pain. I close my eyes, I could feel the tears coming.

"Baby, I want you to listen to me okay." I told her

"Yea mommy." She said

"I am going to get you out of there tonight. Do you understand?" I told her

"How are you going to do that?" She asked me

"I'll figure it out just make sure you have some bags packed okay." I said

"Okay I love you mommy, please hurry I don't know when he will wake up again." She told me

"I love you too baby. Everything will be okay." I told her then hung up the phone

I walked out of the bathroom without changing back into my prison suit. I walked into Charlie's office and said "We need to get Mia out of there tonight."

"What are you talking about?" He asked

"I just got off the phone with her. He beat her just like I told you and I think she needs a hospital. She told me that it hurt to breath, I think he might have broken a rib or two." I explained to him

He got up from his chair, grabbed his coat and we walked out of his office. Ray looked up and asked "What is going on now?"

"We need to get Erica's daughter out of that house now." He said walking to the elevator

"Juiles, have some uniforms meet us at the house." He told her
