Beca and Chloe were late to practice. They had stopped by one of the workshops on writing a resume. Neither were really interested in the workshop itself, but they were interested in the free pizza served there. They arrived at practice, both holding slices of pizza. When they entered the auditorium, they were greeted by Megan. "I see you two finally decided to show up."
"Why are you here?" said Beca. "Are we getting another presentation about social justice?"
"No," said Megan. "I'm in charge of the Bellas now."
"What!" Chloe dropped the pizza she was holding. "What about Aubrey?"
"About her," said Megan. "Apparently an anonymous student came forward and claimed Aubrey groped her. I thought you knew? They sent emails to everyone in the Art Department, the Bellas, and even her parents. Pretty much anyone Aubrey knew."
"Who did this?" said Chloe.
"It was an anonymous accusation," said Megan. "It could be anyone."
"So, how do you know it's true then?" said Chloe. "Couldn't anyone have made said Aubrey groped her?"
"Excuse me?" said Megan. "Whoever brought this accusation to light did a brave thing. We shouldn't try to shame her."
"So it was a girl?" said Chloe.
"Not necessarily," said Megan. "I meant to say we shouldn't try to shame him or her."
"Well why are you in charge then?" said Beca. "Chloe's been around the longest. Shouldn't she be in charge?"
"The Art Department was concerned with your lack of enthusiasm for the new social justice initiative," said Megan. "I'm going to replace Aubrey, at least until you show a greater appreciation for our new program."
Beca and Chloe conceded defeat and joined the other Bellas in practice. The other Bellas were equally annoyed with Megan, who had apparently spent all day making an ass of herself. "Okay, so your current set-list really lacks diversity. All the songs are by white artists."
"What about 'Give Me Everything?" said Stacie. "Isn't Pitbull Hispanic and Ne-Yo black?"
"True," said Megan. "But their music is a reflection of white culture. We need to sing songs that reflect black culture."
Beca whispered into Chloe's ear. "This is gonna be good."
"For instance, why don't we sing some tribal music from Nigeria?" Megan turned to Cynthia-Rose. "Would you like to sing the lead?"
"Excuse me!" said Cynthia-Rose.
"You know," said Megan. "As a tribute to your ancestors."
The rest of practice was spent trying to keep Cynthia-Rose from knocking Megan's teeth to the ground. Eventually Megan decided that the Bellas had enough practice for one day, and ran out of the auditorium while Lily and Stacie held Cynthia back. Once Megan was out of the room, Beca and Chloe got together to discuss what had happened.
"She can't do this," said Chloe. "Let's be honest, she was the one who said Aubrey groped a girl."
"I know," said Beca. "But what can we do? Not unless Megan confesses to the Art Department, which I sincerely doubt."
"No," said Chloe. "Not unless we force her to."
"And how do you propose we do that?" said Beca.
"I don't know," said Chloe. "But I think I've got an idea."
