The months passed and Vanellope was happier than ever. Not only did she have her love Ralph, but her father and her past friendship with Taffyta had been restored to her. Plus she had a bunch of new friends as well.

It was now about a year after Ralph and Vanellope had started dating. Ralph had made a big decision, one that caused him to break a jawbreaker until it was in many pieces. Obviously this took a long time, and a lot of energy. He had to sit down for a while when he was done.

Then once he regained his strength he picked up the smallest piece and headed back for his game. As expected, the jawbreaker piece alerted Surge Protector.

"Name?" Surge Protector asked.

"Wreck-It-Ralph." Ralph sighed, just wanting to get back to his game.

"Where were you coming from?" Surge Protector asked.

"Sugar Rush...which I happen to enter every day." Ralph pointed out with annoyance.

"Where are you heading?" Surge Protector ignored Ralph.

"Fix-It-Felix Jr." Ralph frowned.

"Smuggling candy out of Sugar Rush?" Surge Protector guessed.

"No." Ralph quickly hid the jawbreaker piece behind his back.

After all it worked before...however this time was different.

"Not this time Ralph." Surge Protector this time actually looked up. "Come on, put it back."

"Whoa wait, how did you even know?" Ralph was surprised. "You never caught me smuggling fruit out of PacMan-" He then blushed. "Uh...I mean..."

"That was different Ralph." Surge Protector sighed. "Back then I knew that you weren't getting a lot of good food. I know what goes on in every game...though I admit Turbo's takeover of Sugar Rush fooled me. Anyway, since you weren't getting a lot of good food back then I decided to cut you some slack. But now you are getting good food, you don't need to smuggle food anymore."

Ralph was stunned.

"Well...thanks...for the past I mean..." Ralph rubbed the back of his head. "But this jawbreaker isn't for food, I need to make something out of it."

Surge Protector gave him a skeptical look.

"It's a surprise...for Vanellope." Ralph admitted. "Please, I promise this isn't for eating. I'm just taking it back to my game because I need metal tools instead of candy ones."

Surge Protector hesitated...

"Okay, last time." Surge Protector gave in. "Anything else to declare?"

"I don't hate you as much as I used to." Ralph smiled.

"Well that I don't get a lot." Surge Protector smiled. "Go on, I'll leave you alone when you enter your game."

Sure enough when Ralph activated the alarm in his game Surge Protector didn't show up. Ralph continued on and headed for town, which was far away from Niceland. Yeah there was a town, I mean where do you think the Nicelander's got their food? They needed ingredients for pies especially after all. Anyway, Ralph bought the tools he needed - fortunately he had started getting paid around the time he started getting more respect - and took everything back to his place. He then got to work.

A couple days later, after the arcade closed, Ralph headed for the castle. No not the race track, he was going to see King Candiel not Vanellope. Sour Bill showed him in right away since Ralph didn't need permission.

"Ralph!" King Candiel smiled. "I was just heading down to the race track to watch everyone race. Would've been there sooner but I had to finish redecorating my room and fix my kart. Man Turbo messed up more than the codes when he took over..."

Yeah Turbo had redone so much in King Candiel's room, plus destroyed his kart, that it took King Candiel a long time to set everything back to normal. First of all he had to find new decorations and a new bed and such since Turbo destroyed almost all of his old stuff. This took a long time since household items hadn't been made in years. And of course the kart almost took forever...he still would be at it if he hadn't remembered Felix's hammer.

Sure enough Felix then showed up.

"Hey brother, just finished repairing his old kart." Felix smiled. "Going to see my wife now."

"Okay, tell her I said hi." Ralph smiled.

"Will do!" Felix waved as he left.

"So what brings you here?" King Candiel asked. "Normally you see Vanellope first thing."

"I know, I just needed to ask you something important." Ralph explained. "But before I do...you still have your old kart?"

"Well had...I have it back...whatever." King Candiel shook his head. "But yeah, I kept it for nostalgic reasons even after Vanellope assumed the throne. It turned out to be a good thing, before Turbo took over she liked racing me now and then."

Now before I continue I probably should explain something: when they talk about stuff that had happened before they were plugged in, like Vanellope taking over as ruler, it was backstory stuff. That is they remembered it happening even though they actually didn't physically experience it. All game characters had memories of a past life before game time, including their childhoods. Anyway...

"Oh I see." Ralph smiled. "Well, I know you and Vanellope had only been reunited recently, less than a year in fact, and I wanted to make sure that my idea is okay with you."

"What idea?" King Candiel asked, confused.

"I, uh, I was thinking of proposing to Vanellope." Ralph honeyglowed a little. "Anyway I wanted to make sure that you're okay with this, giving your daughter away I mean."

"Ralph, are you kidding?" King Candiel beamed. "You don't need my permission I want you to marry her."

"What?" Ralph was happily stunned. "Really?"

"Of course. I mean after all that you've done for her how could I not want it?" King Candiel shrugged. "You did more than fix her life Ralph, you made it even better."

Ralph was extremely touched. You couldn't blame him, I mean he was the wrecker in his game, the wrecker pretty much everywhere he went if he wasn't careful. Fixing just wasn't in Ralph's code, wrecking was, and yet despite that here was someone telling Ralph that he actually fixed something. More than fixed something even.

"Thank you Candiel." Ralph smiled.

King Candiel and Ralph had gotten on such good terms that he had Ralph drop the title. Felix and Tamora were allowed to drop the title too, same with Taffyta. He also tried to get Sour Bill to drop the title but Sour Bill kept refusing (because to him King Candiel will always be the true king, not Turbo...it was kinda a guilt complex) so Candiel gave up.

"No, thank you Ralph." Candiel smiled back. "Now go propose to my daughter, that's a direct order!"

"Yes sir!" Ralph saluted. "After the race."

"Well yeah...oh we'd better get going if we want to see the end of it." Candiel remembered.

"Right." Ralph agreed.

So they headed for the track and got there in time to see the winner. Candiel waved the checkered flag for the winner: Vanellope. Sometimes she still won non-gamer races due to always wanting to do her best.

"Way to go Sugar Cookie!" Candiel cheered.

"Thanks daddy." Vanellope beamed. "Hey Stinkbrain, glad you made it in time for the finish."

"Same here Van." Ralph grinned. "Great work."

"Well, can't expect anything less from our president." Taffyta grinned. "She is the best Racer ever after all."

"You're an excellent Racer too Taffy." Vanellope grinned. "Good enough to give me a challenge even."

"Thanks Vanny." Taffyta grinned back. "Hey Racers, you know what to do now: Pile On Ralph!"

"Uh-oh." Ralph smirked dryly, knowing what was coming.

Sure enough all the Racers except for Vanellope laughed and leapt onto Ralph, nearly covering him. This had happened many times since Vanellope convinced the Racers to befriend Ralph not long after the game reset. They were hesitant to at first - considering their first impression of Ralph you couldn't blame them - but once they got to know him they ended up loving him like a huge brother.

"Whoa!" Ralph laughed before friendly-sarcastically saying: "Okay thank you, really, this work-out has honestly made my job in Fix-It-Felix Jr a lot easier. Now run along you Candy Corn Kids Vanellope and I have something special to do today." He grinned affectionately as he kneeled down so that they'd have a shorter route to the ground.

The Racers chuckled or giggled as they let go and ran off. Vanellope then went over to Ralph and kissed him. He kissed her back.

"You know, if it wasn't for the harsh life Turbo gave her I'd be jealous of our president for her wonderful new life." Crumbelina smiled quietly to the other racers.

"I know, she really deserves all the great things that have happened to her since the game reset." Taffyta agreed, smiling too.

"So what's the special thing we're going to do today?" Vanellope asked Ralph.

"It's kinda a surprise." Ralph smile. "And it starts with me taking you somewhere special."

"Oo where are we going...or is that part of the surprise?" Vanellope guessed.

"It's part of the surprise, though it's not the main part so I won't need to blindfold you."

"Okay, let's get going then." Vanellope grinned. "See you guys later. Bye daddy, bye Taffy."

"Bye." The other Racers waved.

"Bye Vanny." Taffyta waved.

"Bye Sugar Cookie." Candiel smiled happily.

Ralph led Vanellope through various parts of Sugar Rush, until they came across where they first had made that deal.

"So much has changed since that day." Vanellope smiled. "And all of it for the better."

"I know, I've never regretted making that deal with you." Ralph smiled back.

"Hey there's that jawbreaker you broke." Vanellope spotted the split jawbreaker. "You know, I stopped thinking of you as a stinkbrain when you did that."

"Really? Because you still call me that." Ralph was confused.

"Yeah, when you broke that jawbreaker I started thinking of you as a cool stinkbrain." Vanellope grinned.

"Oh so my 'stink' became a good stink to you?" Ralph double-checked, smirking.

"Yup, your stink became a candy stink instead of a garbage stink." Vanellope nodded.

"So now I'm a 'sweetbrain' huh?"

"Yeah but I figured that Sweetbrain would be too demeaning for a strong heroic guy like you so I stuck with Stinkbrain."

"I dunno, I like both."

"Eh, I prefer Stinkbrain because of our past. You know, nostalgia." Vanellope shrugged.

"Gotta agree with you there." Ralph admitted.

They continued on until they came across the candy cane forest. Ralph then stopped in front of a taffy puddle with a candy cane tree growing in the middle of it. He sat down and Vanellope joined him.

"This was where we first met." Vanellope recognized the area.

"Yeah, I figured this was the perfect place to ask you a very important question." Ralph smiled.

"What question is that?" Vanellope asked.

Ralph suddenly got down on one knee and pulled a ring out of his pocket. Vanellope's heart glitched rapidly.

"Will you marry me?" He asked.

"Yes." Vanellope grinned...then she started leaping and glitching all over the place. "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!..."

As she continued Ralph didn't know whether to be happy, amused, or annoyed. Sure he was happy Vanellope accepted his proposal and he had to admit her reaction was kinda amusing...but she didn't give him a chance to put the ring on her finger. Meaning he was still on one knee and he didn't know how long he could stay in that position. Finally he decided to interrupt her.

"I take it that's a yes?" Ralph smirked sarcastically.

Vanellope suddenly glitched so that she was now kissing him.

"What do you think?" She smiled.

"I think I'd better put the ring on your finger and stand up before I get cramps in my legs." Ralph replied before doing just that.

Vanellope grinned as she admired her ring...and then her grin turned into a look of recognition.

"Wait a minute...Ralph did you make this ring out of a jawbreaker?" She asked.

"Yeah I wanted something that would last long and still fit the candy theme." Ralph nodded before joking: "You know that jawbreaker nearly became a fist-breaker...then it later became a knife-and-drill-breaker."

Vanellope, touched, kissed him again and then hugged him.

"You'll always be my Stinkbrain." She said.

"And you'll always be my President Fart-Feathers." Ralph hugged her back.

"Hey, I'm now the first president with a lifelong term." Vanellope joked.

"No." Ralph corrected her. "An eternity term."

They continued hugging for a while, then Vanellope remembered something.

"Oh...what about my dad?" She asked. "He just got me back recently - relatively speaking - you think he'll be okay with this?"

"Don't worry, I asked him for permission before I proposed." Ralph smiled. "Turns out it wasn't necessary, he wants us to marry...he even ordered me to propose to you."

Vanellope gave a sigh of relief and then smirked.

"Still have others to tell though." Ralph added. "I mean the other citizens and our friends of course, but also my mom."

Ralph's mom Brenda lived near the town where he got the tools he used to carve Vanellope's ring. Because of this she obviously never showed up in the game (wasn't necessary anyway), but Ralph still visited her now and then. He didn't as often back when he was an outcast, since he didn't want her to find out (where do you think he got his temper from?), but when he started getting more respect he started visiting her more often. Tamora and Vanellope had met Brenda and Felix's mom Kimberly before, and even visited them with Ralph and/or Felix a few times as well. Plus they all saw each other every Christmas.

Brenda admired Tamora and became very fond of Vanellope. In fact when Ralph and Vanellope first started dating she was extremely happy about it, especially since she had been hoping that Ralph would find someone. Kimberly was a bit caught off-guard by Tamora's attitude and role in her game, but having worked with Brenda for years allowed her to get used to Tamora. Eventually the two became really good friends and Kimberly started to think of her as a daughter. As for Vanellope Kimberly liked her and was glad that she made Brenda's son Ralph happy.

Anyway, back to the story:

"Definitely." Vanellope agreed. "The other citizens first, since they're closer."

"Right, do you want to tell them now or hang out for a while first?" Ralph asked.

"Oh let's go ahead and tell everyone, we have the rest of our lives to hang out." Vanellope grinned.

Ralph couldn't help but grin back.
