Hi guys!

This chapter sets up the Mukxo family (Roxas and Xion)

I only own my OC's: Yuyake, Maxine, Katsuro, Kamiko, and Orochi.

Too High

Roxas blew his whistle and all the children became silent. "Ok, kids, we're gonna have a competition today."

"Yea!"

The students followed him to the ropes hanging from the ceiling. "We're gonna see who can climb the highest, today. So, line up!"

At the end of the line, Roxas's own son stood, shaking. His indigo eyes followed his fellow students as they climbed the rope.

"What's wrong Yakey?" The raven-haired boy looked up and saw three kids coming his way: Seifer and Fuu's son, Katsuro, his twin, Kamiko, and Rai's son Orochi.

"Leave me alone, Katsuro…"

The other boy got in front of Yuyake. "I'm just curious about what you're gonna do."

"Yea," his twin added, "Does your Dad know you're scared of heights?" The boy looked down. "I thought so…"

Orochi laughed, "You're gonna fail in front of your old man, totally."

"No I won't!"

"Oh really," Katsuro laughed, "Go ahead… this'll be fun."

The boy timidly approached the rope. "Yake…" He looked and saw his best friend, Maxine. "You don't have to prove anything. Just tell your dad that you're scared of heights."

"No," Yuyake shook his head, "my dad's a hero and not scared of anything. What will he think when he figures out I'm scared of heights?" Without waiting for a reply, he kept walking towards the rope.

Roxas smiled as his son came closer. "You ready Yake?"

"Yes, Dad…" He grabbed the rope and began climbing. His eyes looked upwards, not daring to look down; his only thought was to make his dad proud.

"Yuyake!" Roxas called, "You've climbed the highest in the class; you can come down now."

In one moment, the boy's eyes swept downwards and he froze, clutching the rope. "I… I…"

"Yake, come on down…"

"I… I can't!"

Roxas's eyes widened. "It's ok Yake, don't be scared."

"I can't! I'll fall!"

Roxas went to a rope, beside the one his son was on, and climbed. "Yuyake, look at me." His son looked over and saw his dad beside him. "Yuyake, I'm gonna reach over and grab you. I'll help you down."

"If I let of the rope, I'll fall!"

"No you won't. I'll be holding on to you." Roxas reached over and wrapped an arm around his son.

"Dad…"

Roxas pulled himself closer, "I've got you. Now, let go on three; I've got you… one… two… three."

Yuyake let go and Roxas pulled him close. They came back down the rope. "Dad… thank you…"

The boy stiffened as laughter rang out behind him. All the students, except for Maxine, were laughing. "Yake is a scaredy cat! Yake is a scaredy cat!"

"HEY!" Roxas stood to his full height. "You do not make fun of students, especially my son, and especially in front of me!"

"But Coach Roxas…" A glare silenced the children instantly.

"All of you, except for Maxine, go run 5 laps around the gym NOW!" the kids took off running.

"Yake! Wait!"

Roxas turned and saw his son running out of the gym. "Yake! Yuyake Lea Mukxo!"

The boy ran out of the school and just kept running. He went into the woods and into the mansion. He went down to the white pod and climbed inside; the pod didn't close. He curled up his knees to his chin and began to sob.

"Yuyake did what?"

Roxas took the rest of the day off to look for his son. He went back to his house, first; his son wasn't there, but Xion was. "He ran off. The other kids were making fun of him because he was scared of heights."

"Do you know where he is?"

"I thought he might be here, but, I guess not." He looked at his wife. "He probably went to the mansion."

"Let's go find him."

"Yuyake…" Roxas came up to the white pod, where his son sat, sobbing. He reached in and picked him up. "Hey, look at me, son." The little boy looked up, wiping the tears from his eyes. "You should've just told me you were scared of heights; I wouldn't have made you climb the rope."

Yuyake sniffled. "I didn't want to… I thought you might be disappointed in me."

"Why would you think that?"

"You're both heroes and you're not scared of anything…"

Xion smoothed the child's hair. "Oh, Yuyake, everyone's scared of something, even us."

"Really…?"

The parents nodded. "I'm sorry those other kids were mean; don't worry, I'm gonna call all their parents tonight."

"Thank you, Dad… Thank you, Mom…"

Yes, Roxas is a gym coach. Also, his son's name, Yuyake, it means 'sunset' in Japanese… I thought it'd be fitting.

In KH4, Yuyake will be 15!
