Chapter 15

Felicity sat in the conference room at Queen Consolidated as Oliver led a board meeting. Her green dress stood out against the dark suits of the others in the room. Her nails clicked as she took notes about the topics in the meeting and the details needed for the notes. He looked over to her and smiled as her gold necklace caught the sunlight. She paused and moved a loose hair from her ponytail back behind her ear and glasses. She looked up to him and he turned finishing the meeting.

Later that afternoon, the sun was setting behind Felicity as she sat at her desk. She finished typing up some notes and e-mails to department heads when Laurel walked in. Felicity smiled and stood to greet Laurel. "Hi, Laurel. It's nice to see you. What are you doing here today?"

"I wanted to come to check on you. Oliver and my dad told me about this White guy."

"Oh," she said laughing slightly, "He was a pest more than anything. He did not want to understand the word NO and thought he could force my mind to change. Thankfully, he has learned his lesson and is in the custody of your father and SCPD."

Laurel smiled. "Just be careful, Felicity. Tomorrow is his arrangement. I do not expect he will get out but be careful, please." She said rising from her seat. Felicity smiled and they hugged as Laurel turned to leave.

Felicity was back in her apartment that night. She sighed as she began to wind down from the day. Oliver had sent her home after the meeting at QC and said that the rest of the team would handle the city tonight. She had rearranged some furniture in her bedroom. The break-in and White's invasion brought about the need for change. She felt a new start helped there and the new arrangement was a main piece.

She decided to relax by taking a bubble bath which aided her muscles and allowed her to relax again at ease in her home. She smiled thinking of those looking out for her around her.

A short time later, she exited the bathroom feeling relaxed and ready to take on the world. She pulled her hair up in a pony tail and walked around to ensure her apartment was secure. Her instincts though perked up. It felt as if someone was nearby and it did not feel familiar. Her mind reviewed her self-defense training and tried to adjust her eyes to be ready for attack. She returned to her bedroom with the instincts still raised. She decided to slip on her necklace from Oliver. He had told her with this he would always be with her. She felt a little better, a little reassured, but still felt as if she was being watched and the person was close. It was as she slipped into bed and placed her hand on her necklace again that she felt the prick on her arm.

Oliver arrived later that night to check on her as the Arrow after getting Laurel's call that White was out. Diggle had checked and her cell phone and tablet were both showing being at the apartment but when they called there was no answer. He entered and disabled her security system. He walked to her bedroom they had rearranged together to make give her a new start after White's last visit. His instincts told him something wasn't right. He looked in her bathroom first. He felt the warmth from her bath in the room. He then turned to her bed. He saw where the sheets had been turned down and she had started to get in but she was nowhere to be seen. He looked to her dresser and saw the box he gave her the arrow necklace in. He knew she wore it in order to feel close to him but it also gave him a way to find her now.

Into the quiet of her room, he whispered, "I'm coming, Felicity. Hold on."
