Good day to everyone! Hope everything's good with you guys. By the way I won't be posting tomorrow since it's the 4th of July. Happy Independence Day U.S.A! I love the 4th we always have a BBQ and watch fireworks. Alex is pretty mad at Jewels right but Jewels just want's to help her. Will she come to her senses, or will she find out the hard way? I woke up to the noise of breathing. I know i don't wake up to screaming, but I wake up to breathing. I could feel someone watching me, so still pretending to be asleep I flipped over and grabbed the person's arm. The perso tried to run but I have those wrists that if they grab something and don't want to let go they lock. "Light's on!" I yelled. The light's turned on and I was met face to face with Jeff. He was still in his night clothesand his hair was messed up. "What are you doing?" " I ...um... I couldn't sleep." "Why did you come into my room?" "Because I thought youmightwannagoontheroofwithme." "What? Say it slower." " I thought you might wanna go ontheroofwithme." "Sure. If it'll help you sleep." He kind of just gave me an exasperated look. I let go of his arm and followed him into the hallway. Quietly we made our way to the elevator and then to the roof.
The roof had an amazing view of the capitol, and also had a pretty flower garden. I leaned over to smell a daisy, a common flower in twelve. When I looked at Jeff he was sitting on a bench facing away from me. I went over and sat down next to him. "Why couldn't you sleep?" " I was worried." "About what? Your not going to the arena in a few dyas." " That's the problem. You are going." " Don't worry if Alex comes around I promise I'll try to come back." I put my hand over his. "I don't want you to try, I want you to win for sure." He turned to actually look at me. "If you died I don't know what I'd do." "That's simple you go back to twelve, live with Morgan, and then come back again next year with a new set of tributes." "No! Don't you understand? Ever since I saw you at school I've always wanted to talk to you. Always wanted to be friends with you, to get to know you." Suddenly he grabs my shoulders and hugs me. "I like you." he whispers into my hair in a strangled voice. I could feel he was about to cry, so I did the only thing I wanted to do. I hugged him back. "Don't you worry I'll come back I promise."

Morgan's POV: Hearing footsteps and whispers in the hallway made me get up. Slowly opening the door I spotted Bonnie, and Alex crouching by the door. "What are you doing?" I whispered. They both sbout jumped five feet in the air. "Shh!" they hissed and pointed outside the door. I took a look outside and saw Jewels and Jeff sneaking up to the roof. As soon as the elevator cleared Bonnie and Alex went inside. "What are you doing?" "We're going to see what happens!" "Wait I'm coming too!" I also climbed in the elevator, and headed up to the roof. When we got there Jeff and Jewels were sitting next to each other. Jeff looked upset and Jewels looked like she was trying to comfort him. Then Jeff looked like he was about to cry. He said something else and then hugged Jewels. Jewels looked shocked for a moment, but hugged him back. I could here Bonnie sigh and Alex say "Ahhhh..." "I thought youwere mad at her?" I asked. " I am but that's still sweet."

The next day Alex still wasn't talking to me. All through breakfast there was silence. The only person that talked to me was Jeff. Before I left for the training center he said,"Don't worry she's your bestfriend and stepsister. She'll come around." "Thanks Jeff." Even still all day through training Alex ignored me. During lunch she didn't even sit near me. She sat next to JEFF. You remember how yesterday she complained about him? I hope she talks to me before the interview. Alex then abruptly left the table. The three of us still at the table watched as she walked over to district ten's table. They all got up together and went to the spear station. All of our mouths were hanging open in disbelief. I closed my mouth and looked at Jeff and Morgan. They looked at me and Jeff said,"Why don't I stay here and help you train?" "Thanks I'd like that." " Okay kids I'm gonna go back and plan out your interviews. Goodbye." "Goodbye." "Goodbye."
"Why don't you learn hand and hand combat?" suggested Jeff. " Okay." The instructor had a few other tributes at his station but he got around to us. The instructor showed me the basic defences and left me to practice on my own. "I'll help you." said Jeff. "Okay let's go!" Getting in defensive stance, I waited for the attack, and when it came I was ready. When Jeff went to punch me I grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back. He weaseled his way out of it and then started tickling me. " No fair!" I turned the tables and started tickling him. In the end we both ended uo on the floor and gasping for air. The instuctor seemed mas that we were having fun at his station so he sent us on our way. For the rest of the day we did this. We would mess around a station and get kicked out.
The final day of training came really fast and it was time for the private sessions with the gamemakers. Being the last district meant we had a lot of time to worry about what we were going to do. " Do you know what you going to do?" I asked Alex. Maybe I'll break the ice. "Yes." Or not. It seemed to be hours before finally it was our turn. I would go in first. I turned around to look at Alex. She just gave me a smile and thumbs up. Praise the lord! Maybe she's not that mad anymore. I walked into the training center and faced the gamemakers. " Jewels Clamber district twelve." All of the gamemakers were drunk and eating, not even looking at me. Fine if they don't want me to be here I won't. I walked over to the GAUNTLET and stepped inside. The monitor asked me to choose any weapons I could use. I chose axes, knives, and the bow and arrow. I then pressed start. The gamemakers can watch everything that happens inthe GAUNTLET so I hope they see this.
The area around me started to change. The scenery turned into a grassy meadow and the countdown started. 20,19,18,17,16,15,14,13,12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. I took off towards the cornucopia and grabbed a bow laying on the ground. Two people came at me and I fired two shots. They both went down. Really you only gave me two arrows. I slammed my bow behind me and it made contact. Running still I found some axes. I turned to face a boy carrying a sword. Slicing at him with my axe, we played a game of dodge and duck. I felt another person behind me, so I turned and threw. The axe embeddded into a girls skull. I sharply pivoted to the left as the sword came down. I back handed him with my other axe and he fell. Now weaponless because my axe broke I ran into the cornucopia and grabbed some knives. Anyone that came near the copia I killed. I felt the hair on my neck stand up. I slammed myself against the wall as a trident landed near my feet. A replica of Finnick Odair showed up from the back off the cornucopia. Oh God. Standing my ground I watched as he sauntered over. "You lost sweetheart you be running not fighting." "I don't think so." As he turned grab his trident I ducjed and slid. His trident slammed into where I was standing. I slid between his legs, went behind him and threw. My knife lodged into his neck and he crumpled to the ground. The scene went black.
It was over. I stood up and walked out of the GAUNTLET. My score on the monitor was excellent. It kept flashing, I turned towards the gamemakers. All of them had their mouths open and looked shocked. I just bowed and left. I came out and Alex looked at me. " Goodluck." An hour later they were just about to announce the scores. "Hurry, hurry we don't want to miss it!" Bonnie said as she herded us to the living room. She hurriedly turned the set on. Ceasar's face suddenly appeared. This year he was orange. A rather ugly orange to, not that pretty. He then started to announce the scores:

"I'm sorry folks, but we seem to be missing Jewels Clamber's score. Until we get we will announce her partner. Oh my god! Why would it be missing?

"Ahhh!" I screamed we all jumped up and hugged Alex. "Wait!" she cried."We still have to see Jewels score." We went silent and waited. "Ah here's Miss Clamber's score. District twelve girl Jewels ... is this for real?" A gamemaker came and said something to Ceasar. " I guess it is. Folks Jewels Calmber from district twelve has gotten a 12.

Silence. And then the loudest noises ever."Ahhhh!" "Yeah!" "Oh my god!" *Rrrriiinnnggg!* Soon are telephone was ringing with offers of alliances. We just never picked it up.
