Chapter 8
I woke to see I was in a tree and stuck by my pants.
"Are you kidding me?" I said with displeasure.
Seeing how there was no other way I undid my pants and slipped out of them, but once I was out; the branch I was on broke and I fell. My underwear caught onto another branch near the bottom of the tree but they ripped and I fell. Stark ass naked except for my shirt I ventured in search of Rainbow Dash.
I wondered for about 10 min before I came across the house I was so rudely genesined from. I tore through the wreckage but found no sign of Rainbow Dash, until under a wall I found hoof prints going deeper into the woods.
Great the ground is muddy. I should find her easily. I thought to myself.
Without warning it began to rain what looked like soda.
Fuck! I need to hurry.
I raced in the direction of the prints, following them the best I can. Before I knew it most of the prints had vanish. Some faint remnants of the prints remained but those quickly disappeared.
The tracks had completely disappeared and I was now in an opening in the forest where there was a lone tree in the middle of the field and under it i saw a cyan colored object. There was no doubt in my mind; it was Rainbow Dash.
"Rainbow Dash!" I yelled. No response.
Fear took a hold of my thought. Shit she must be hurt.
I took a step out but then a bolt of lightning came roaring down hitting right in front of me. I looked up to see Discord dressed as the Greek god Zeus.
The sick fuck is trying to keep me away from her. Fuck it, she needs you!
I made eye contact with Discord and had a 2 min stare down before bolting across the field. I ran as fast as possible while also dodging explosion after explosion of lightning. I made it half way when Discord managed to get a lucky shot at my leg. The pain was enormous.
"HAHAHA. Not so strong now are we?" Discord laughed.
How is Rainbow Dash not hearing this?
"Rainbow Dash, I could use some help!"
"Hold your breath boy. She is under the Sshree. A magical tree, long lost that uses sound instead of carbon dioxide as a means of respiration." Discord laughed.
I sat there thinking of a way to reach her, but the only thought was running.
Just because it hurts doesn't mean it's broken. You can make it to her. Get up and run. For her!
In the middle of Discords laugh I got to my feet and ran. The pain was overwhelming but I had to get to her.
"Still fighting hu. How about this?" Discord threw another bolt that exploded right of me but close enough to throw me a ways.
The explosion made my right arm go limp. I used my left to pick myself up and continued.
"How are you still going?!" Discord sounded angry.
"A man will do stupid things for someone he loves."
"She isn't your species why do you care so much for her?"
"She, involuntarily, was there for me in my time of need back on earth. I have grown to know her and have found we have lots in common such as being loyal. I will be loyal to my friends no matter the cost."
"I've had enough of this lovey dovey nonsense!" Discord brought another bolt up and wiped it.
The bolt was heading straight for me and there was no chance I could dodge it with my injuries so I waited for my doom; eyes clenched shut.
"I'm sorry Dashie."
"Joe!"
I opened my eyes to see Rainbow Dash standing a little ways from the tree with a face of horror.
This is going to hurt.
With all my will power I bolted straight for the tree and just barely dodged the bolt which caused a shock wave within the earth causing the ground in the opening to fall. I ran faster as the ground behind me became more and more "gone", for a lack of better words. Closing in on the tree I saw Rainbow Dash's face grow brighter but before we could be reunited Discord flew straight into the ground in between us causing my path to be replaced with a huge gap. Knowing there was no time to turn or stop I sped up ignoring the pain that was screaming throughout my body.
"Joe, Jump!" Rainbow Dash yelled.
I hit the lip of the gap and with all my might I leaped. I felt something in my leg snap, probably my bone, and pain rushed through my body. In the air I saw the other side getting closer but I began to fall and I knew I wasn't going to make it. I flung my arms out in an attempt to grab the ledge but I just missed, hit the wall, and began to fall but I was stopped by something grabbing my shirt. I looked up to see Rainbow Dash hanging over the ledge with my shirt in her mouth.
"Rainbow Dash. You have to let go. I'm too heavy; you'll go in with me." I looked down at the black void.
"NO! I'm not letting go." The words were muffled but I understood.
A tear came to my eye at the sight of her loyalty, but it vanished when I saw Discord armed with a bolt and prepared to fire.
"Rainbow Dash! You have to let go! Now!"
"But you'll die!"
Discord flung the bolt which was aimed for Rainbow Dash's head. Seeing the situation I knew what I had to do. I slipped out of my shirt and hung on for my final words.
"Joe! What are you doing!?"
"I love you Rainbow Dash. I don't want you to get hurt. Even if that means my death." I tugged on my shirt jerking her forward and when she yanked back I released my grip causing her to fling back. With her out of the way the bolt hit the side of the gorge and I fell.
"Joe!" Rainbow Dash rushed to the edge to see me fall.
As I fell I saw Discord leave with a satisfied smile and Rainbow Dash's eyes beginning to tear. I couldn't bare the sight so I turned to my impending doom. It was quite peaceful falling; wind rushing past your face, feeling light as a feather, and the sensation of flying. If only there wasn't the splat that i know comes after this.
Authors note: To all you who have been waiting, i hoped you enjoyed this. I know it is a bit short and it has been a while, but i am in college and that stuff kinda comes first. I cant give you a promise when the next chapter comes out but i can promise that it will. This story isn't over yet and its just heating up.
