Chapter 9
I fell for what felt like hours until I saw what looked like a spider web of roots all across the darkness.
"This may hurt." I said to myself.
I hit the web with a thud and surprisingly bounced up like 5 meters before rolling to where the web originated. I got up and ventured further; seeing how I couldn't go back. The webs lead me to a cave the size of the pentagon. I ventured in but once I got a foot in the door a loud roar hit me back out.
"WHO DARES ENTER MY HOME!?" the roar demanded.
"I-I am sorry. I-I fell from above and had n-nowhere else to go."
"FELL!? MY HOME WAS BURIED LONG AGO! YOU MUST HAVE DUG! HAVE YOU COME TO KILL ME?!"
"Have you been out your cave lately?"
I heard a loud thud fallowed by the earth shaking violently.
FUCK. Joe, what did you do?
Out of the darkness came a large scaled foot the size of a large van armed with razor sharp claws. After the foot came the body and finally the head; which revealed the beast to be a Dragon.
"Fuck." I said in amazement.
"THE WORLD HAS OPENED FOR MY RELEASE." The dragon shouted in cheer.
"Actually, a god named Discord destroyed it all."
The beast lowered its head to my level and then gazed at me with its huge yellow eyes.
"You are a human?" The dragon lowered its tone.
"That would be correct." Irrelevant
"I remember there not being any humans left after the war."
"I'm not from this dimension."
"Interesting; and did you say Discord did this?"
"Yes."
"He was a friend of mine in the years before my imprisonment. He put me here to ensure his rule over Equestria. Well until he was defeated that is."
"So you hate him then?" How do you know he was defeated if you were trapped under ground?
"Let's just say I'm leaving to kill him." The beast opened its wings and created twisters with one flap, if not for the roots behind me I would have fallen again.
"Wait! If your going up, can I maybe get a ride?" I asked with hesitation.
"Hmm... You did show me this great news. You probably are the reason Discord did this too aren't you?"
"Yes." The sudden realization of what I've been through brought the pain rushing into my body. I fell to the ground and laid there in fear of breaking anything else. Why now adrenaline?
"Are you hurt?"
"Just a little bit." The pain was horrible.
"Let me help." The beast took a deep breath in and next breathed a blue fire that engulfed me. I flinched at first, but then realized that it didn't hurt but actually felt pleasing. The fire vanished and so did my pain so I stood up and jumped for joy.
"Thank you sooo much mystical beast." I cheered.
"Me? Mystical? Just the opposite, you're the myth in this dimension my little companion." The beast laughed.
I laughed a bit.
"Alright. Let's get you out of here." He lowered his hand wide open and I hopped inside ready for the wild ride.
"Mind if we pick someone up?"
"Are they close?"
"She is right next to the tree whose roots are holding this place."
"Then I shall. Hold on." The beast leaped up and with 2 or 3 flaps we were out of the darkness and soaring in the beautiful sky.
I could see Rainbow Dash under the tree and she obviously missed that dramatic entrance. The dragon hovered a bit back at the top of the land mass.
"Get her. I think she thinks you're dead." The beast stated.
"I gathered that much." I joked.
I hopped off and slowly made my approach. When I got closer all sound vanished, not even the annoying buzzing from my ears could be heard. Seeing how there was no need to be sneaky I strolled closer. She looked over her shoulder slowly, eyes red from crying so much, and then a smile took hold of her face. I had no time to react before I was tackled by her with a huge hug. Her lips moved but I heard nothing. I put my finger on them as to stop her and walked back to where I came from. As we got further away from the tree sound slowly began to reenter my ears.
"Now you may talk Rainbow Dash." I said with a smile which was knocked off my face when she punched my gut. I fell to my knees in pain.
"HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!? WHY DIDN'T YOU LET ME HELP YOU!? YOU SCARED THE HORSE APPLES OUT OF ME!"
Horse Apples? WTF, that's funny. "I'm alright now. You don't have to be so hurtful." I joked.
She wound up for another punch but stopped as her face turned to question.
"Joe. Who is that?"
I turned to see she was looking at the Dragon that helped me.
"Joe. Your friend is very abusive to you." It joked.
"She was just scared for me. That's all."
"Alright. Now, you love birds get on and I will get you back to the forest."
How did he…? No questions were said and we both did as told. The dragon flapped his mighty wings and in no time at all we were across the massive hole. As we hopped off he stopped Rainbow Dash.
"I sense something has been taken from you child, but then I also sense that something new has filled that lost. With what you found you now don't care as much for that you have lost."
Her face turned red and my mind was spinning. Does he mean me? Does she not care that she doesn't have wings? Why do dragons speak in riddles like that?
"Ya, Discord took my wings and hid them."
"He is a fiendish one him. I can't take you to them but I can point them out on your map."
"I wish we still had the map, but it's in my pants up a tree."
"You mean these strange cloths that got stuck to my leg?" He reached for his left leg and brings up my jeans with the map hanging out. There was only one leg, the other one is probably in the tree still.
I dragged the map out of my pocket and presented it. Wait, how did he know we had a map and how lucky are we that he flew low?
The beast waved his finger over the map and pointed at a temple.
"He hid them there at the temple of the fallen three."
"Fallen three?" I asked.
"During the time of the great war there were three brave warriors; Mistaro, a unicorn who mastered dark magic but could use it for good. Pegnas, a Pegasus with the speed of lightning and power of thunder. And lastly Tyran, an earth pony who could break mountains with his hammer. These three intercepted Discords plans for marching his army through that pass but once they got there they learned it was a trap. Discord ambushed them and one by one they fell. As a sick joke he preserved their bodies in glass and built a temple around them to show all why not to mess with him."
"And people actually go out there?"
"No creature enters those temples in fear of the curse Mistaro placed on it."
"Curse?"
"With Mistaro's dying breath he cast a curse on the temple so there defeat would not shame them so. If one should enter the building he must pay tribute to the fallen or give his life to them."
"And I thought this was going to be easy." What counts as a tribute?
"Good luck brave traveler. I now go to destroy Discord." He flapped his wings and was gone with a flash.
"To the temple Rainbow Dash?" I asked with adventure in my heart.
"It's in the wrong direction. We should just forget it."
"Nonsense. The Stone of right is high in the mountains, so what better way to get up there than to fly?" She is acting strange. Why doesn't she want her wings back?
"Alright, but if we die by a curse I blame you." She joked.
"Noted."
We headed off in the direction of the temple; unaware of how bad the curse truly was.

I want to get better at writing so pointing out my flaws to me will help ;) I hope you all are enjoying the ride so far and i hope to have ch 10 for you by next week.
