He yah readers! Here's chapter 14! Not many more before I finish this story.:~( Oh well maybe I'll write a sequel. Anyway I do not own the Hunger Games.:~)

Third Person POV: Morgan sat staring at the monitor watching Alex with Chad. Jewels had just left and Alex was crying, while Chad comforted her. "It's all a game okay? Don't worry about it." "But her eyes they looked hurt, like she was actually offened by what I said." "It doesn't matter she's probably a really good actor and beside she's gone. Come on let's go to sleep." "Okay thanks Chad." Alex snuggled into his arms. Chad I really miss her, and she was right I did break my promise." Alex started crying softly until she fell asleep. Chad then layed her gently down on the sleeping bag. "Ugh." Morgan sighed and flicked the switch to watch Jewels.

She had just been carried off into the snow by district one when Jeff came running in. "Morgan!" The boy better not say anything irrational or do anything stupid. "What is-" "How can you let her go off with one? You know he's going to turn on her in the end, so you gotta do something." "Well I cou-" "I think I'll go talk to Simmens myself and arrange something." "Wait a min-" *Slam!* Jeff ran out slamming the door behind him. "Your welcome for the advice, anytime." Grumbling Morgan got up and followed Jeff. He walked down the hallway towards the gamemakers headquarters. He found Jeff being pushed around by the peacekeepers guarding the door.

"Hey, hey leave him alone."

"He's not supposed to be here." Stated the taller peacekeeper.

"But I insist, just let h-" Once again Morgan was interrupted. The door opened and Simmens Crane appeared in the doorway. Yes he was Seneca Crane's descendent.

"What seems to be the trouble?"

"Well sir these two wanted to come in."

"Then by all means gentlemen, please enter."

"B-but sir-"

"Are you defying me?"

"No sir." Both of the peacekeepers side stepped so Morgan and Jeff could pass. They entered Simmens headquarters and sat down. Simmens sat down in his swivel chair behind his desk and folded his hands. "What can I do for you?"

Jeff looked at Morgan expectantly. Morgan gave him a glare and explained the situation."So you want me to tell you tribute to stay away from district one?"

"Exactly."

"Um... now we have a complication, you see I can't do that."

"Why on earth not?" Thundered Morgan. His face was starting to turn red with anger.

"I can't tell Jewels that unless it's done in person. So who do you want to send in as another tribute?"

"What?! This is bull shit!"

"Now, now make it easier on yourself. Why don't you send someone from twelve?" Simmens looks directly at Jeff.

"No, no, no! I wil not send in Jeff, he's the only family I have that's not in the arena."

"He just might save the rest of the family you have. It's your choice, and make it quick I haven't got all day." Morgan glanced at Jeff. Jeff spoke up after a minute," I 'll go in, but if Jewels or Alex are the last ones in the arena, then I get to go with them." Morgan blanched and then said quickly,"He doesn't know what he's talking about he's in shock." Simmens studied them for a while before sighing.

"I'll let the boy go in and if he's alive by the end of the games, I'll let him live."

"I can't-" Morgan started to say.

"Thank you Mr. Crane you won't regret it." Jeff answered and then dragged Morgan out of the room to get ready. "I'm sure I won't." Smirked Simmens.

Meanwhile in the arena Darren and Jewels were sitting under a dead tree eating a meal. They hadn't talked throughout the whole meal until Jewels said,"What are we going to do when we run out of food?" Darren had met Jewels earlier if you remember right after Jewels left Alex. He had a pak with him, but it was already half empty. Jewels only had afew crackers left and strips if beef. Together they would only make it about another day until it was gone.

"I don't know, there's no berries or animals in this part and the other areas are destroyed or overrun with mutts." Jewels learned that after she left the desert more mutts went there and no tribute made it out alive. During the time she was asleep, and the first day in the tundra five more tributes had died. The only ones left were: both from one, the girl from three, both from four, both from five, both from nine, Chad, both from eleven, and of course both from twelve. Fourteen left alive still and it's been a week. Usually only ten or eight are alive by this time, but it's going to take longer than that.

These games were going to be dragged on as long as possible. Darren finished his meal first and waited for Jewels. She was soon done, and they headed out to look for food in vain. Luckily they came across some bushes of winter berries. They were cold, and slightly fozen, but didn't taste that bad. What was good about being in the cold was that things didn't deterioate as fast. Which meant that they could pick these berries and have them for days. Jewels stopped picking to eat a handful of them and filled her canteen with snow. It kept water cool, but warmed ice and snow. Something caught her eye when she bent down. A small creature,a snowshoe rabbit was moving a couple yards in front of them. She nudged Darrwn with her foot and pointed. Darren seemed confused a moment before seeing the rabbit. He slowly raised his spear, aimed, and launched. The rabbit barely had time to look up before the spear hit it in the stomach. "Yes!" Jewels yelled happily. She ran forward to grab it by its legs and ran back to Darren. "I'll skin it." He said taking the rabbit. "Here's my knife."Jewels handed him her knife and he started skinning the snowshoe.

Back at the capitol: Jeff had been dressed like the other tributes and was able to train for a few hours. He kneo the basics of everything and could handle a machete okay. Not as good as Cato's descendent, but good enough. Before he was brought into the arena Morgan came to see him.

"You know you're crazy right? Risking your life to save Jewels, Alex, and maybe dying in the process. Why?" Morgan asked. "You would have done the same thing Morgan and you know it. I have to go in, I'll come back." Morgan nodded and then embraced Jeff. "I love you son."

"I love you grandpa." Jeff stepped inside of the tube and waved as it went up. Soon he was out of soght. There would be careers waiting for him so he got ready. He finally stopped rising and was in front of the cornucopia. The careers on guard didn't spot him until it was too late. Jeff already had a pack and was running toward the tundra. He wasn't really good at sprinting, so for the first part of his run he was panting. After that though his long distance skills kicked in and he ran an even pace. Jeff wasn't really sure where Jewels was, but was determined to find her.

Alex's POV: After Jewels (not the real one) left I felt an unbearable pain in my chest. Chad tried to comfort me, but I'm still a bit wary of him. After all why would he abandon his partner and then come back to me? I'm a little suspicious. I wonder about Jewels and if I did the right thing. What if she really is alive? That last look she gave me... Shaking my head to clear away my thoughts didn't stop the pain in my chest. I can't regret anything and everything or I'll go crazy. Besides she probably wasn't Jewels. Then why do I feel so bad?

Jewels POV: After I cookedthe rabbit we sat down and had a meal of it and those winter berries. We each had a leg a piece and saved the rest. I didn't know much about Darren, so I thought I'd ask him a few normal questions.

"How old are you Darren?"

"I'm sixteen, was born June nineteenth."

"Oh I'm thirteen, but I'll be fourteen in a month."

"Really? You look older."

"Thanks you look more like twenty though, than sixteen. Do you have any family?"

"Um... actually I'm an orphan, have been since birth."

"I'm sorry, I have two older brothers and an older sister."

"Do you have any parents?"

"Yah I have both my parents and you know about my stepsister Alex."

"I'm sorry about what happened between you two. That's harsh being abandoned by your sibling."

"Yah I guess, I didn't expect it I was really shocked when it happened. What really po's me is that she wouldn't even let me prove it. She immediantly thought I was a capitolian."

"That's rough I didn't-"

He stopped talking for a minute."What's wro-" "Shh. I hear someone coming. I strained my ears until I finally heard it.

Third person POV: They stood silently, both having already drawn their weapons. *Crunch.* *Crunch.* Footsteps came down on the snow making a very loud noise. That person wasn't even trying to hide the noise. They finally came into view. Without warning Darren threw his spear at the figure. The boy (they found out it was a he) ducked tp the left as the spear landed in the spot he was standing. "Damn it, too short." Muttered Darren. Jewels who still had both her axes yelled,"What do you want?" The boy looked at her and then said,"You forgot about me already? How rude it's only been a week."

Darren and Jewels stood there for a minute just starring. Darren looked like he was about to say something when Jewels threw her axes down and ran towards the boy. She tackled him to the ground and started yelling.

"Jeff what are you doing here?"

"Um... if you let me breathe I'll tell you." Jewels let go of Jeff and sat down next to him.

"Well I cam here to warn you about about him." Jeff whispered.

"What?"

"I don't want you by yourself with him, when Alex isn't here."

"Wait a minute why? I know he's dangerous but-"

"No buts I'm staying. Most importantly, did you miss me?" Jewels hugged him agaon.

"Yah I did miss you... alot." They stayed like this until Darren cleared his throat.

"Ah hm sorry to interrupt, but we are still in the hunger games. Just to let you know." Jewels walked back to there spot and picked up her axes. Darren went over to Jeff and snatched his spear up. In the process of doing that, he shoved past Jeff and went to Jewels. "You know this clown?" He asked her.

"Yeah he was my mentor's assistant. He helped Alex and me a lot."

"Okay just make sure he doesn't try anything." Darren stormed off as Jeff approached. "What's his problem?" Jeff asked.

"I don't know I guess he doesn't like strangers. Jeff frowned at that. Does that mean she's more than his ally?

Oooooo! Trouble is brewing and so is a fight! Next chapter will have some action between the tributes! I should have it up in a few days. Happy reading!:~)
