A/N: Here's chapter 3. About the performance scenes, I hope I did well. Enjoy.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Two days passed quickly, and the music festival had arrived. Kid checked them in.

"Okay, so your call time will be at 1:30, and you'll perform at 2. Until then, just have fun!" Kid smiled at the man, and walked off to find his band mates.

"YAHOO! EVERYONE, BOW DOWN TO ME, FOR YOUR GOD HAS ARRIVED!" said Black*Star, as annoying as ever. Kid shook his head. 'At least I didn't have to look that hard for them,' he thought.

"Okay guys, we have three hours to have fun, but we'll meet back here at exactly 1:15. Okay?" Kid said. He got back a couple of lazy "okay's" and one scared "okay." Soul and Black*Star took off, chasing some girls that walked by. Kid sighed. "Might as well have some fun, right Crona?" Kid said to Crona. Or he would've if Crona hadn't walked off. "You too Crona?!" Kid said, frustrated. He took a deep breath and began wandering around the festival.

"Okay, our call time is at 2, and we perform at 2:30. So, we'll meet back here at- hey! Liz, Patty, I didn't even say a time!" Maka called out to her friends/band mates.

"We'll be here at 1:45 on the dot. I've known you long enough to know what you're gonna say. Anyways, c'mon Patty!" Liz dragged her sister, who was talking about a boy with pink hair she saw, and giraffes, through the crowd. Maka sighed.

"Well Tsubaki, what do you wanna do first?" Maka asked her best friend. When she didn't get a response, she looked around. "Tsubaki! Really?! You too?! Ugh!" Maka stomped off to try and enjoy the festival.

Kid stopped at a booth called "Finish the Song." You had to sing the rest of a song without mistakes, and the only line you get is a mystery. You only have one chance to get it right, and if you win, you get a prize. Maka had also stopped at the same booth.

"I want the next turn." They both said at the same time, laying down a dollar on the counter at the same moment. They looked at each other.

"Oh ho, looks like we got a couple." The booth technician said, smirking.

"No, I don't-"

"I've never met him-"

They spluttered at the same time, and then glared at each other. Kid sighed and bowed slightly, gesturing to the counter. "The floor's all yours." He said. Maka rolled her eyes.

"Now now, don't worry you two. I've got just the song for both of you to sing together." They both blushed and backed up from the booth. "NO THANK YOU!" They cried in unison. By now, they were bringing in a large crowd, including their friends, though they were on opposite sides of the crowd.

"C'mon guys, look I'll give you a deal. If you do it, I'll let you do it for free. Whatdya say?" The booth technician said. Maka and Kid looked at each other, blushed, and looked away.

"Fine." They said at the same time. The technician smiled. "Excellent." He put the line up on the screen.

"Kiss me too… Oh no." Maka said, and Kid face palmed.

"Hey, you said you'd do it."

Maka sighed and grabbed the mic.

As Long As You're Mine (Maka, Kid, Maka and Kid)

Kiss me too fiercely
Hold me too tight
I need help believing
You're with me tonight
My wildest dreamings
Could not foresee
Lying beside you
With you wanting me

And just for this moment
As long as you're mine
I've lost all resistance
And crossed some borderline
And if it turns out
It's over too fast
I'll make ev'ry last moment last (Maka closed her eyes)
As long as you're mine...

Maybe I'm brainless
Maybe I'm wise
But you've got me seeing
Through different eyes (Maka opened her eyes, and looked at Kid)
Somehow I've fallen
Under your spell
And somehow I'm feeling
It's "up" that I fell...

(Kid reached out for Maka, and Maka took his hand)

Every moment
As long as you're mine
I'll wake up my body
And make up for lost time...

Say there's no future
For us as a pair... (Kid pulled Maka closer)

And though, I may know
I don't care... (They got closer together)

Just for this moment
As long as you're mine
Come be how you want to
And see how bright we shine
Borrow the moonlight
Until it is through
And know I'll be here, holding you
As long as you're mine...

(Maka pulled away, blushing)

What is it? (Kid was blushing also)

It's just- for the first time, I feel wicked.

Maka and Kid quickly gave back the mics, and blushed furiously. "Wow guys, that was amazing. I didn't expect to see such a show either. Well done." The technician clapped. Kid looked at his watch.

"Crap, I have 7 minutes to get to the meeting place!" Kid dashed off, leaving a blushing Maka. Her friends came up to her, smiling.

"We have a lot to talk about, Maka." Liz said, smirking as she saw Maka's face grow redder.

"L-let's just go watch the performances…" Maka said. Liz smiled. 'Maka finally has a crush.'

"So Kid, that was quite a performance." Kid hit his head on his keyboard, startled that someone was behind him, and saw the performance.

"Wha-what performance?" Kid asked, rubbing his head. Soul, Black*Star, and even Crona smirked at him. Kid flushed. "I-it was nothing guys, c'mon let's do a sound check."

2 rolled around, the Death Acceptance was on stage, ready to perform. Kid started playing.

But It's Better If You Do (Kid, Soul and Kid, Soul)

Now I'm of consenting age to be forgetting you in a cabaret
Somewhere downtown where a burlesque queen may even ask my name
As she sheds her skin on stage
I'm seated and sweating to a
dance song on the club's P.A.
The strip joint veteran sits two away
Smirking between dignified sips of his dignified peach and lime daiquiri
[Kid spun around, jumped over the keyboard, and grabbed the mic swiftly. People started screaming.]

And isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety [Kid looked at the crowd with "bedroom eyes." The girls squealed.]
Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety [Kid went behind the keyboard, and put the mic back on the stand.]

But, but I'm afraid that I
Well, I may have faked it
[They all clapped.]
And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place

Well, I'm afraid that I
Well, that's right, well I may have faked it
And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place [They all jumped and landed on the beat.] [Kid back flipped and landed in a chair that couldn't be seen from where he stood. He slid the keyboard out of the way.]

And isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety [Kid made a gesture that caused girls to swoon.]
Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety [Kid walked back to the keyboard and hit a button. They all pretended to be controlled like puppets during the organ part, then they all back flipped simultaneously, still playing their instruments and not missing a beat. Kid jumped down to the ground during the break and started high fiving people.]

Well, I'm afraid that I
Well, I may have faked it
And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place [Kid went back on stage.]

Well, I'm afraid that I
Well, that's right, well I may have faked it [Kid dropped to his knees behind the keyboard.]
And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place

And isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know

Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety [Kid made the gesture again, causing more girls to swoon.]
Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety

Praying for love and paying in naivety
Praying for love and paying in naivety, oh

[They all pretended to be controlled like puppets again during the organ part. Then Kid went straight into their next song.]

I Write Sins, Not Tragedies (Kid, Soul and Kid, Soul, Soul and Crona,Kid, Soul, and Crona, Crona, Black*Star)

Oh,
Well imagine,
As I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,
And I can't help but to hear,
No, I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words: [Kid looked at Crona and Soul, who moved to stand by each other, pretending to talk.]
"What a beautiful wedding! What a beautiful wedding!" says a bridesmaid to a waiter,
"And, yes, but what a shame, what a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore." [All of them looked at the crowd.]

I'd chime in with a [Kid jumped between Soul and Crona.]
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things
With a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in,

"Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things
With a sense of...
[Kid walks to Black*Star, and leaned on his shoulder.]

Well in fact,
Well I'll look at it this way,
I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for a toast
So, pour the champagne [Kid put the mic in front of Black*Star.]
Oh! Well in fact,
Well I'll look at it this way,
I mean technically our marriage is saved [Kid smiled and took the mic back]
Well this calls for a toast,
So, pour the champagne, pour the champagne [Kid grabbed a champagne bottle and poured them all glasses, which they downed without missing a beat. Then, Kid gently rolled it off the stage, where people were fighting over the bottle. Kid front flipped in the center of the stage, while Black*Star back flipped behind the drums, still playing. The crowd went wild.]

I'd chime in with a [Kid dropped to his knees.]
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things
With a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in,
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things
With a sense of poise and rationality [Kid jumped down to the ground, and dropped to his knees again.]
Again [Kid got up and started high fiving people as Crona and Soul made their way down as well.]

I'd chime in,
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things
With a sense of poise and rationality. (Soul, Crona, and Kid where all on the ground while Black*Star was still on stage.)
I'd chime in,
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things
With a sense of poise and rationality
Again [Black*Star stood up on the stool and kept playing, while Kid kissed a fan on the cheek. He wasn't paying attention to who it was, and after he did it, he went back on stage.]

The crowd was deafening, to the point where you almost missed what Kid said next.

"Thank you guys for listening to us! We hope to continue to wow you!" Kid bowed, along with the rest of them. Black*Star managed to front flip all the way from behind the drums to land right in front of Kid. The cheers got louder. The emcee came up on stage as they started packing up their stuff.

"Wow, that's a tough act to beat! We still have 20 minutes until our next performers, so how about they give us an encore!" The emcee yelled through the mic as the crowd went wild. The emcee smiled at the group. "Got one more song?" Kid looked at his friends, and they nodded.

"Yeah, we can do one more." He said, and the crowd started cheering again. "It'll be one of our slower songs." Kid said. After they got to their places, they started.

Let It Go (Kid, Soul and Kid, Soul and Crona, Soul)

Wait it out till the light
Take a breath, say good night
But don't ever go away

Wait around to find the time
Only you can take what's mine
But don't ever go away

[Kid closed his eyes.]

I'll be waitin', I need to let it go

[Kid opened his eyes.]

Fade it out into the light
All these years we never get it right

I need to let it go
I need to let it go

I need to let it go

No more reasons to deny
That I believed that you were mine

I need to let it go
I need to let it go

I need to let it
[Soul stepped forward.]

A chance to change or stay the same
One night without the blame
That will never go away

Only you can make it right
To walk away and have no fight
But don't ever go away

[Soul closed his eyes.]

I'll be waitin', I need to let it go

[Soul opened his eyes and stepped back again.] [Kid dropped to his knees.]

Fade it out into the light
All these years we never get it right

I need to let it go
I need to let it go

I need to let it go

No more reasons to deny
That I believed that you were mine

I need to let it go
I need to let it go

I need to let it go
[During the guitar break, Soul dropped to his knees.] [Kid got down to the ground and started singing to a girl.]

Fade it out into the light
All these years we never get it right
I need to let it go
I need to let it go
I need to let it go

Fade it out into the light
All these years we never get it right
(I need to let it go)
I need to let it go
I need to let it go

I need to let it go
[Kid made his way back on stage.]

No more reasons to deny
That I believed that you were mine

I need to let it go
I need to let it go
Go, go

Let it go

I need to let it go
I need to let it go
I need to let it go
[Kid dropped his head down to hide his eyes beneath his bangs.]
I wish you'd let me go

Everyone cheered again, and Kid and his friends smiled. The emcee came back on stage. "Wow, this is the loudest I've heard this crowd! Mind telling me your names and ages? I think a few of the ladies may want to know."

"Don't forget about men!" Said a male voice, which caused all of them to laugh. Black*Star stepped up first.

"My name's Black*Star! I'm 19, and everyone must bow down to me FOR I AM-" Soul cut him off.

"I'm Soul Evans, but I go by Soul Eater," he said smirking, showing his pointed teeth. "I'm 19." Soul handed the mic off to Crona.

"Um, hi… M-my name's Crona. I-I'm 18…" Crona awkwardly handed the mic over to Kid, while getting a few "awws" from the crowd.

"Hey, my name is Death the Kid, or Kid for short. I'm 20." Kid blushed when he got a catcall and a "yoo-hoo~!" from at least two men, and three women. The emcee took back the mic, laughing.

"It seems we might have had one contestant to get the record label! Well, we have 10 minutes until our next performers, Perpetual Souls, come on stage, so please stay tuned!" They all got off stage.

"Maaaakaaaaa. We have to set up for our turn." Liz said, waving a hand in front of Maka's face. Maka touched her cheek.

'I know he didn't know who I was, but he kissed my cheek out of all the girls in the crowd.' Maka thought to herself.

"MAKA! LET"S GO!" screamed Patty. Maka snapped out of it.

"Ah, coming!"
