Stories of an Imaginary Werewolf

Story four: The twenty-third year

Again, time had passed. This time, a police car had parked near the foster home. Nina, now thirty-one years old, was writing a ticket for the bus. She wore a police uniform, and fulfilled her wish; she was now a police officer.

"Oh, no," a young red-haired woman wearing a green jacket, a white shirt with a picture of The Powerpuff Girls, a purple dress underneath said shirt and tennis shoes said, running to the bus. "Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" The woman was finally at the bus, and was now panicked. She was the foster home's caretaker, Francis "Frankie" Foster, Madam Foster's granddaughter. "What are you... I mean, ugh! Why can't I... I mean..." She was at a loss for words.

"Is this your bus, Ma'am?" Nina asked her.

Frankie answered, "Uh, yes. Is there a problem?"

Nina pointed to the "No Parking" sign, which added "anytime without permit".

"Uh, I have one of those permits!" Frankie explained.

Nina crossed her arms. "I don't see it."

"Well," Frankie replied, "I have it. Um, hold on." She reached into her pocket and nervously got her wallet out, accidentally flinging her money out, searching for her permit.

"You're not trying to bribe me, are you, ma'am?" Nina asked her.

"Bribe?" Frankie repeated. "Oh, no, no, no, of course not. I-I-I..." She stammered as she picked up her cash.

Out of the foster home, Eduardo came out, holding a plate of pink lemonade, while his friends, and eight-year-old boy named Mac (who wore a red shirt with a longer white-sleeved one underneath and khaki pants) and his imaginary friend, Blooregard Q. "Bloo" Kazoo (who was blue all over), ran around him. He looked at the gates and saw Nina near Frankie, who was still picking up her cash. Surprised, Ed flung the plate, with the contents spilling on Bloo, and charged at her. Hearing his roar and laughter, Nina noticed her imaginary friend coming to her. It had looked like Eduardo tackled her, but he actually was hugging her. Now it was Frankie's turn to cross her arms. However, she was smiling at the reunion between imaginary friend and creator. Mac and Bloo walked to Frankie and noticed.

"So," Mac began, "is that...?"

"Yep," Frankie answered. "Eduardo's creator, Officer Nina Valerosa."

"Ay," Eduardo agreed as his creator put her cap on him. "My little gatina, you have gotten so big."

"Oh, you say that every single años, mi pollo doro," Nina replied, rubbing his face. "It has been a very long time since I was little."

"Well, good to see you again," Frankie said, walking to the two. "You're such a joker. I think we had poor Mac here going for our whole 'ticket' routine, eh, Nina?"

"Officer Valerosa," Nina corrected, handing her the ticket.

As Mac and Bloo were heading back into the yard, the creator picnic was going on real smoothly. The two had looked around at the imaginary friends and their creators, who were all grown up. And, as we all know, Wilt's creator, again, didn't show this time.

"So, Nina," Eduardo began, "have you stopped by the forest to check on how mi hermano mayor's doing?"

"Sí," Nina answered. "He's still protecting it, and has obtained the title of alpha wolf. But he's never forgotten you."

Nearby the forest, outside a cave, Leonardo was looking on, smiling.

"Ay, mi fratellino," Leonardo thought. "I sure hope the picnic goes smoothly, and that you and Nina are okay. I also hope you two will visit."

Just then, the bus had stopped near the cave. Leonardo took notice.

"Heh," he said. "Perhaps I thought too soon."

He then jumped downward from rock to rock as both his creator and his little brother came out of the bus. He then greeted the two.

"Ciao, fratellino. Hola, Nina. It is so good too see you both again."

Eduardo giggled. "Good to see you again, también, hermano mayor."

As the two brothers took a tour of the forest, Nina looked at her imaginary friends, crossing her arms with content.

"Gracias, mis amigos imaginarios," Nina thought. "Thank you for teaching me how to face my fears, and to be brave."

The End
