Shizuku had never once considered living a life that didn't include Amachi Hitsugi. It was as if such a thing could never exist, was against the laws of nature. Her existence was defined by the force of nature that was her partner, and though Hitsugi had frowned the one time she had suggested the idea, nothing could persuade her otherwise.
That did not mean she occasionally entertained the thought of binding her friend up and locking her in a dark closet in the furthest room from her own. In fact, she was currently pondering if that was not too close. Perhaps a closet in the guard's training facility would be a reasonable amount of distance.
Then again, any guard that stumbled upon their mistress would be obliged to free her, and that would happen much too quickly for her peace of mind. No. There were some unused offices in Tenchi itself that would prove to be far better options, at least for providing her with the longest span of time in which she could enjoy a little peace and quiet. The lack of convenience, being that they were in the mansion and therefore miles away from the school, made that option inviable.
She tapped her finger on the desk in irritation and stared at the letter that lay innocently before her.
Innocent but for the fact that it was bright pink and had an offensive amount of glitter covering whatever space on the paper that didn't contain text.
She hadn't read it yet, but she didn't feel as if she needed to. This was obviously a joke, a product of sheer boredom, and was no doubt meant solely to extract an annoyed response. But maybe…
"Dearest Shizuku mine,"
Nope.
Forcefully tossing it aside without another thought, she bit back a curse as it landed on the pile of the other 116 letters just like it, and promptly caused a small avalanche that showered glitter across her carpet.
Her hand automatically went to rub the bridge of her nose as she dropped her head back. Dragging her hand down her face, she caught sight of a bright pink envelope stuck to the ceiling through her fingers.
"Agh! How did she get in here long enough to hide them all?!"
