"And that was the start of my love for music." Jesse finished the story of how his mom forced him into auditioning for a musical when he was back in high school. Aubrey smiled at him adoringly and laughed slightly at his little story. This has been the perfect night. Jesse had had been the perfect gentleman. He wasn't late and always made way for his lady for the night to go first. He made special and might I add expensive reservations at Aubrey's favourite Italian restaurant just because she told him she liked it. He kept her entertained by telling her all his quirky childhood stories(like how he dressed as a girl to school just because his brother told him to or like the time he sat in chocolate sauce and looked like he shitted his pants the entire day) and there was never a moment of awkwardness or silence between them. He truly earned the title of "Master of all Boyfriends" (well at least she hoped he was her boyfriend, or was he?).

After a few more rounds of "Truth or Dare" between the pair (after hearing about what Aubrey did at the ICCAs, he dared Aubrey to gag and pretend to puke infront of the waiter just to freak him out. Oh it freaked him out alright.), they finally decided to head out and go for a stroll by the beach. As they walked side by side, basking in comfortable silence, surrounded by the sounds of the gentle waves reaching the shore and the crickets chirping. Aubrey looked up at Jesse and couldn't help but notice the way the moonlight shone down on him, illuminating his handsome features. His gentle smile resting on his face and his puppy brown eyes were all part of the charm. After a while he noticed Aubrey staring at him and turned to face her. Suddenly they both stopped walking.

They looked at each other in pure adoration and laughed slightly at the nerves they were both feeling (mostly Aubrey).

"Thank You for tonight, I really enjoyed myself." Aubrey whispered into the crisp night air.

Jesse smirked and let out a sigh of relief. "Well I'm glad you did."

They took a moment to let the events of the nights sink in before Jesse finally spoke up again.

"You know I haven't felt so... nice in a while."

Aubrey chuckled. "Nice? That's the best you could come up with?"

"Well yea. Being with you just takes away my stress and I don't know," Jesse ran his left hand through his hair as he took a step closer towards Aubrey.

He leaned down, their face now inches apart. "I kinda like it."

Aubrey's breath hitched and she preyed to the Aca-gods that she would be able to contain her nerves and not puke grossly all over him. "Well,"

She took another step closer.

"I like you."

Aubrey finally mustered all the courage she had as she tiptoed to reach up to him, pressing her lips against his. It was a soft and sweet and not anything rough or lustful. The kiss was simply nice. It lasted about 10 seconds before Aubrey pulled away, nervous to see his reaction. What if he didn't like it? Shit then we are pretty much over. But to her surprise, he reach his hand out to cup her face, smiling lovingly at her while reaching down to kiss her again. So there they were, underneath the beautiful stars and shimmering moonlight, as they embraced each other and poured all their emotions into that one single kiss.

"Well nerd you look pretty happy today." Beca announced as Jesse entered the studio and hummed a familiar tune to himself. Last night had been amazing. After their stroll on the beach he escorted her home like the gentleman he was while they shared another loving kiss right outside her apartment. Things were about to get pretty heated between them and they once again felt like a couple of teenagers sneaking out at night, fooling around and experimenting. But eventually they were able to control their emotions and managed to bid their reluctant goodbyes to each other.

"Yea well what can I say? My 'wreck' of a date, your words not mine," Jesse quoted as he put his hands up in the air like a surrendering motion, "thoroughly enjoyed herself last night and I myself did too."

"Really." Beca mumbled to herself, hoping that she didn't come off too cold to him. But unfortunately Jesse immediately sensed that something was a little off with her. I mean sure Beca's temperamental mood swings were common but this was something else. It was as if he sensed a tinge of sadness in her voice.

"Hey," he gently approached her, "What's up?"

"Nothing." Beca tried to push him away as she knew he was going to do that thing where he would make her pour out her emotions to him while he comforted her and reassured her that things were going to be okay. But no, Beca refused to let him do that. Jesse had already broken down the first few walls to the heart of Beca Mitchell and she could slowly feel herself opening up to him. She couldn't let that happen. That was not the way things worked. Beca Mitchell simply does not let anybody in.

"Cmon Becs we're friends aren't we?" Right. Just friends.

"Yea. Sure." Beca replied with a slight bit of jealously in her voice, although she tried her best to hide it.

Jesse frowned and questioned her, "What's wrong?"

Beca knew he was trying to be caring and nice and concerned and sweet and loving and oh those lips looked so kissable right no- ok you better get him outta your damn head Mitchell, but the more he acted this way towards her, the more angry she felt.

"Nothing! Why are you so concerned about me anyway? It's not like your my boyfriend." Beca snapped at him.

For a short moment she thought she saw a hint of hurt in his eyes, but she chose to ignore it. She didn't have to worry about him or his stupid little feelings.

"Ok then." He mumbled under his breath.

The two of them continued working on that one mix in uncomfortable silence, all the while Jesse trying to sneak little peaks at Beca, trying to figure out what exactly was wrong with her today.

Did he get her the wrong coffee? No, no, he got her usual black coffee extra hot with 2 cubes of sugar. Maybe it was because he didn't exactly complete the track like he promised to. But no Beca was fine with finishing up the track for him. Or maybe it was because he couldn't stop talking about his new 'girlfriend'. But no. She couldn't be. Was Beca Mitchell…. Jealous?

His head shot up and he fixed his stare onto her. Okay fine he'd admit it that when he first met her, he was a tiny bit attracted to her. Okay not a tiny bit A LOT. Like if it wasn't because of Aubrey he would have probably made a move on her by now. Her petite figure and cold stare matched with those ear monstrosities that she wore everyday made her seem vulnerable but yet mysterious. He was intrigued by her. Unconsciously, his eyes scanned her from the bottom to the top. The way her extremely tight black top hugged all her curves and the way her crystal blue eyes sparkled whenever they talked about her mixes (something she was extremely passionate about) made him feel a warm fuzzy feeling inside all the while turning him on to no end. He tried flirting with her a little bit through their daily banter but she seemed to show no interest in him. Hence, he thought he would have a better chance with Aubrey. And sure things with Aubrey were great and all, it was sweet and he felt comfortable and loved, but with Beca he felt a spark he had never felt before. It was a risky and dangerous kind of spark. She was unpredictable, tough, strong and irresistible. And he liked that.

But what were the chances of scoring a girl so special like Beca Mitchell? He figured he had none. They were gonna be best friends and/or lovers. But if a best friend is all he can get out of her, he would rather have that then to lose her completely. He had learnt from the past week he had spent with her that when Beca was having one of her moods, the best thing to do is to leave her alone. As much as he wants to tease her and go on and on about his dreams and movies, he figured if she wanted space, he would give her space.

-Line Break-

After that long tiring and torturous day, they both started to pack up, once again in uncomfortable silence. Jesse was unable to take it anymore (after the many exchanged glances and lingering stares) and finally cracked.

"Okay look Beca I am sorry for whatever I did but c-"

"Just leave it Jesse it's nothing reall-"

"No Beca not until you promise me tha-" Jesse raised his voice, frustrated.

"Jesse!" Beca flipped at him, ''Okay that's it I'm out of here."

Shit. He knew he shouldn't have pushed her.

"Beca wait!" He grabbed onto her arm and pulled her back.

"JESS-" Beca screamed as she tripped against the stupid coffee cup that was littered on the floor.

She fell forwards towards him and suddenly, their lips touched.
