**I don't own BATB, Catherine, Vincent or any other characters mentioned. I also don't own any places mentioned or any scenes that may be similar to another work.**

Sorry if it seems that I have abandoned the story. Things have been busy so I have been taking less time to write.

"What words between you and Vincent took so long?"

"Tis something I must speak with both you and Teresa with. Come, before Brooke calls for dinner." Thomas said leading Catherine to her and Tess's room. Tess opened the door, surprised to see their father.

"Father, pray tell why you are up here?"

"I have a matter that I must speak with you both about." Thomas said leading Catherine into the room before taking a seat on one bed while Tess and Cat took a seat on the other.

"Whatever is it father?" Catherine asked wondering.

"Well daughter, Vincent wishes to know if you would care to accompany him to York for a time. You shall be allowed to, if Teresa will join you while in York."

"Truly, you would allow me to go?"

"Yes Catherine, if Teresa shall accompany you. I shall ride with you both, to York and stay a few nights, and then return back to Brooke." Thomas said knowing his daughter was surprised. "Teresa, do you think you would like to accompany Catherine to York?"

"Yes Father. I would love to visit York." Teresa said, to which Catherine made a comment that her father was not able to hear.

"Of course you would Tess. Commander Bishop shall be returning to York as well."

"What was that daughter?" Thomas asked looking at Catherine and Teresa, the latter whose face was now a shade of pink.

"Nothing father." Catherine said with a smile.

"Alright. I need to know by tomorrow morning if you and Teresa wish to travel to York so that I may make arrangements."

"Of course father." Catherine said before watching him walk out the room and down the stairs. Once he was gone Teresa spoke up.

"Cat, I cannot believe you said that."

"But, tis true. I could see how enthralled you were by him."

"Like you with his highness?" Tess asked with a laugh. This time it was Cat who was blushing.

"Fine Tess, if you shall keep quiet about Vincent, I shall keep quiet about Commander Bishop."

"Very well." Tess said before pausing for a moment. "Cat, do you think you shall want to journey to York with Vincent?"

"Yes, I do believe that I shall wish to journey to York with Vincent. What about you Tess? I shall not go if you don't wish to go."

"Cat, I shall accompany you. I think it will be a good change to venture to York, and if I should happen to meet up with Commander Bishop, then I wouldn't mind." Catherine laughed.

"You know, I could ask Vincent to give Commander Bishop time off for a few days while we are there."

"I couldn't possibly."

"Tess, if you do wish for me to ask Vincent for Commander Bishop's time, all you must do is ask."

"I may in the future, but for now, I believe that we should pack for tomorrow."

"Yes, I would think a trunk each?"

"I do not believe we should need much more. What types of things should I pack?"

"I am packing more of my formal dresses. I know that Vincent said that my position as a lady will not matter to his family, but I still fear that they will not think worthy of me for my status."

"Catherine, everything shall be fine. I do not believe that Vincent would invite you, knowing that his family would not welcome you."

"I know Tess, but I cannot help but worry."

"Never thought I would see the day that you would be so worried of the way that people would see you."

"Neither did I, being forthright, but I am just really worried that they will look down upon me for I am not the right class to be courted by a royal."

"Cat, I am sure that his family will love you. What is not to love about you?"

"I do not know, but I am not a high class."

"It shall not matter. May we go down to supper?"

"We shall. Then we can start to ready for the journey."

"Vincent, dear. Where have you been? Alexandria came today to visit with all of us and you took off at early hours."

"I am aware mother." Vincent said taking a seat in the sitting room of the wing that they were staying in while in the Salter's castle.

"Alexandria was quite disappointed that you were not here."

"Mother, I am sorry, but I was held up."

"With what Dear? What was of such importance that you were not able to be here?"

"For one mother, Alexandria is a spoiled, whiny, twit. Two, I was calling upon someone."

"Who, Vincent?"

"A lady of Nigera that I intend to court." Vincent said knowing that he would shortly know of his mother's feelings of him courting.

"Why have you not spoken sooner?"

"I was not sure how this would be received."

"Why, Dear?"

"When William attempted to court a lady from Nigera the last time that we came, when Michael and Alexandria were introduced, father instantly disapproved."

"Vincent, dear, your brother was also found attempting to sleep with her out of wedlock. You have not attempted this have you?" His mother asked with a sharp tone.

"Of course not mother. I would never try such a thing, and I do not believe that she would either."

"Shall I get chance to meet her?"

"I have asked her company for the masquerade tomorrow night, as well as I have invited her, her cousin, and her father to join us in York for a short time."

"As long as she and her cousin seem proper then I shall have no objections."

"Thank you mother. I shall introduce you both tomorrow night at the masque, but I fear that both may be slightly out of tongue, for they do not speak often with people in such a high class."

"Tis not as if they are to become a part of the family tomorrow, I just wish to meet them."

"I cannot confirm if they shall wish to speak with you tomorrow, but I shall ask."
