Thanks to Heart 'n' Soul 2 for following since the last update

Percy smelt of burnt rubber as we stepped out onto the concrete in front of the administration building. As I inspected Percy's tyres, I heard Lauren's heels clicking as she came around the other side of Percy.

"Are the wheels still legal?"

I got up and looked at Lauren "First of all, it's are his wheels not the wheels. Second of all, yes Percy's wheels are still legal to drive with."

Lauren smirked as we walked in the administration building and even I couldn't hold the smirk off my face. However, when I saw Agent Coulson and Agent Morse standing there, looking like they were waiting for us, WITH scowls on their faces, my mind immediately said RUN!

"Hey Agents, what's with the scowls? Is it the new bad-ass look?"

Lauren face-palmed as Coulson shot Morse a look that said can-you-believe-she-thinks-she's-funny; meanwhile Morse stepped forwards with a blank expression

"I thought we agreed to meet hear about –" Morse looked at her watch (I only just noticed she was wearing one) "3 hours ago. Care to explain where you've been?"

Her tone made my nerves itch and my voice came out slightly aggressive "Seeing as we're about to join SHIELD, I figured that Lauren and I should live a little before it all began."

Something in Coulson's eyes flashed with understanding, but I didn't catch Morse's reaction as Penny stepped into the room (or was it out of the shadows?).

"Hey Penny, aren't you supposed to be in class?"

We hugged and as she stepped back, she replied "I could ask you the same thing."

I laughed internally and let her continue "Will, today isn't just your first day of commitment to SHIELD, it's also mine."

I smiled "Cool, do you want to dump your stuff in the back of Percy?"

Penny smiled "Sure that would be awesome."

Someone came from behind me and spoke with authority "Penelope Hill, you aren't planning to go off with the daughter of Hydra's deputy are you?"

Penny groaned "Mum! Come on, she's my best friend AND she's about to join SHIELD."

Agent Maria Hill, an awesome role model for young women – also Penny's mother.

"The key word of that sentence Penelope is about to join SHIELD, she hasn't yet."

I piped in before Penny could reply "She's the cat's mother!"

They ignored me – not unexpected. Penny continued to argue with Agent Hill (or do I call her Maria?)

"Well how about she signs the contract AND THEN we can spend our last day of freedom together."

Again, I piped in. "First of all, you do realise that SHE is in the room. Second of all, don't I get ANY say in this?"

Finally they looked at me, and Coulson's voice rang out from the silence "Why don't we get the signing over and done with then?"

I looked across and Penny and Lauren who both nodded at me.

"Sure, let's sign our lives away!"
