Penny, Lauren and I spent the afternoon seeing a random movie at a cinema and then spending money on heaps of junk food. But unfortunately our leisure had to end, and as we parked out the front of the SHIELD Special-Ops Academy, there was a noticeable silence.
Finally Penny spoke
"I should probably get going now."
I nodded
"Have fun in the army barracks."
Penny raised her eyebrows at me
"Really?"
A smirk grew on Lauren's face and I felt my lips grow into a smirk too.
"Yes, really. I thought you were joining SHIELD, not the army. Care to explain what this place is?"
Penny raised her eyebrows
"This is a SHIELD Academy, however, the special-ops unit needs to be tough so that we make the right call in a tough situation."
I shared a look with Lauren, who opened her mouth to speak
"Good luck Penny, and don't forget to write to us."
I nodded, looking back at her from the driver's seat.
"Be careful. If you ever need us to creep out some assholes, just call."
Penny chuckled and a smile grew on her face
"I'll be sure to remember that!"
She slammed Percy's door loudly and moments later we heard Percy's boot close with a bang. Looking across at Lauren, I sighed
"There really is no going back is there?"
She shook her head
"No, but at least we'll be safe now."
I nodded and turned Percy's engine on. Soon we were speeding down the highway towards the SHIELD Sci-Tech Academy.
The drive on the highway itself wasn't that long, but seeing as all the SHIELD Academies are in remote locations, we had to take many twists and turns before the building(s) came into sight.
A guard directed us into the students parking garage, but Percy was by far the hottest looking. Other students had cars from the 90's that really needed repainting.
Lauren and I got out of the car to be met by an African American lady
"Ms Whitehall, Ms Bakshi. My name is Agent Weaver and I am the agent in charge of SHIELD's Sci-Tech Academy."
