The spirit in the iceberg9

"Aang, are you sure about this?", Katara asked, doubt lingering on each syllable.

The tattooed monk for once didn't listen, just grasped the leather reins on his sky bison tighter. With thin lips the water bender moved further back on the saddle, shaking her head in disappointment.

Not liking his little sisters distress, but agreeing and even influencing their friend's decision, Sokka attempted to explain their reasoning. "Katara, how can we trust someone who we've never met with the only decent Firebender's life? We strike before he strikes."

To Sokka, this was the most reasonable option, but to Katara, it was a bad idea.

Merida spoke up, her hair dancing in the wind around her head like flames and a well polished bow in her hands. "Aye agree with ponie-tail, we can't be leavin' th'life o'our friend in th'ands o'a stranger." Her sharp blue eyes softened, and she added,"punz has been gone t'long anyhow."

Katara thought back to when she had first met the innocent Firebender, and she clasped her hands tightly. "Your right. I don't know what I was thinking! We need to save her at all costs." Katara sat down and looked at the puffy clouds around them, not letting her friends see that she still wasn't entirely convinced.

"Sir, the fire prince has requested your assistance."

Jack rubbed sleep out of his eyes and yawned. He had woken up to a bunch of yelling aboard the ship and he had covered his ears, trying to block the sound.

Then this nameless, mask wearing guard came into his quarters and 'woke him up'.

An explosion rocked the ship, and the now not so drowsy spirit lept out of bed.

He pulled on his borrowed fire nation cloak over his normal attire and asked,"what's going on?" The guard said,"we are under attack, the fire prince asked for you to help defeat the intruders." The armored man turned on his heel and led Jack to the main deck.

There, a large furry beast hovered above the ship and on its back were several warriors. Arrows rained down along with shouts and a boomerang.

A bald boy lept the impossible distance onto the deck of the ship with grace and knocked down a half a dozen fire navy soldiers. "I told you to wait!" Jack screamed although he wasn't heard over the commotion. The great beast landed as the tattooed boy cleared the way.

Jack, seeing Zuko distracted fighting the female water bender, slipped silently back into the ship. He ran as fast as he could to get to the unnamed woman's cell. He opened the door with a slam and began releasing her from her bindings. "Jack! What's going on?!" She asked, worry marring her features. His answer was some inadequate mumbling about a letter and the wind and disobeying of some kind.

He shouted for her to follow him as he ran back into the maze of hallways. They bumped into an earth kingdom looking boy wielding a dagger against three soldiers.

Jack raised his staff then slammed it on the metal floor, clearing the way. The brown haired boy looked at him with confused eyes before nodding in unspoken understanding.

They ran together back to the bison, fighting only when cornered.

"Rapunzel!" An accented voice called out in warning, stopping Jack in his tracks. The blonde girl, Rapunzel, spun around to see the fire prince, his eyes wide with shock at her getting loose, at her being with Jack. Once it registered in his mind that Jack had betrayed him, Zuko let out a roar and a blast of flames.

Jack wasn't sure what transpired, but he felt an intense heat that was wrong, come near him and his knees buckled.

Jack fell to the ground, his staff clattering out of his hands onto the metal deck.

Ignoring the constant ringing in his ears, he looked up to see Rapunzel standing over him, determination etched on her face, and dissipating flames swirling around her crossed wrists.

She pushed her hands out to the side, and slid her feet into place. Time seemed to slow as she inhaled, her muscles tensing and energy gathering around her.

When she exhaled, her body exploded into action, pale orange flames erupting from her dancing hands and catching Zuko off guard. Unable to keep his balance, he fell into the sea, and angry cry and a splash signifying his departure.

"Hiccup! Sokka!" She yelled, needing help to lift the spirit. They were all surprised to feel his weightlessness, he couldn't have weighed more than a snowflake. Someone let go of him and grabbed his staff. Jack blacked out when they set him in the saddle.
