Met her at a concert
Jaime worked part time at McDonald's only from Monday to Friday. He had a night shift that ended until 7 am and usually nothing out of the ordinary happened. A month ago some wasted fraternity guys made a mess and he had to clean up puke and mcflurry but that didn't beat the guy who almost kissed him. He changed shifts for a week because of that.
So when his awaited seven day vacation started he was more than happy to agree with anything Bart had planned. Bart was his best friend, a loud, hyperactive chemistry major that worked in the day shift. They met at one of Jaime's biology conferences where the little guy had talked nonstop after their introductions.
To sum it up Bart made up for Jaime's lack of enthusiasm and Jaime made sure not to get them killed when they went out.
When the day finally arrived he had everything packed, from tasers to baby powder Jaime had it covered. They were going to stay at a hotel that was three blocks away from Coldplay's concert and hopefully not end up in mortal danger like the time Bart thought he could outrun a race car. Jaime would have understood the idea if they weren't in the most dangerous gang meeting zone challenging said gang members.
But the concert idea was fine because he liked light shows and Bart wanted to go so what could go wrong. Then in the middle of sweaty, exhilarated bodies he met her.
Not a girl for Jaime, no that was ridiculous. Bart saw her first, whipping her blonde ponytail wildly as she sang along with "Sky full of stars". How he could distinguish her among the many neon bodies grinding and yelling no one knew.
"Look dude, I'm going to ask her out!" Bart yelled, but they were in the middle of the song and Jaime could only see Bart's lips moving and his hands flapping. That was normal because, concert, so he paid no mind really until Bart grabbed his chin to turn it to the girl.
Jaime could barely get a look at her face all his eyes were focused on was her shirt that on the back read "boyfriend? That's a funny way to say FOOD". He could see how Bart got interested in her; after all she wore the word food in 'all caps'. Still, his brain could barely think in the middle of Chris Martin's voice and the deranged crowd around them. Then he lost sight of Bart and his stomach dropped to his toes already predicting the outcome.
After one more song someone was tugging his shirt and he turned only to see the cute blonde Bart had spotted. She was yanking his arm and elbowing their way out of the middle and towards the sides. It was kind of like walking through a packed street in New York just that with blinding lights, darkness and wet textures around.
When they finally reached the entrance he could see her. She was squinting at him, her eyes adjusting to the brightness and then dilating as she focused. She pushed aside moist strands of hair that covered her face.
"Your friend here is very convincing!" She yelled even though he could hear her clearly now. Bart jumped out of nowhere and placed his arm around her hips clearly familiar or stupidly high. Jaime knew it was the later because it was Bart and he was dumb.
"Man, she is crazy! We were jumping and then all of a sudden, I swear, we were making out and she tasted good and funny and wow man." Bart said hurriedly. He was hollering every word and kept blinking fast.
She observed their interaction quietly until her eyes sparked and she threw her hand at Jaime. "Sorry, my name is Cissie, call me Suzanne. Oops no. like that other way 'round" Jaime took her hand raising his eyebrow and watching Bart's similar glazy gaze. Bart started wiggling his shoulders looking at her with an amused grin.
"I get it. Cissie, you and Bart can sleep it off at the hotel." Jaime said sighing.
"Cissie don't you worry! This man is respectful!" Bart said flattening his palm on said boy's chest.
"Bart I don't even care, I'm with you."
"What?" Bart looked at her tilting his head right.
"What?" She answered squinting.
Then they started laughing like mad clowns. Jaime had patience, lord he did, but he hoped for Bart's well-being that when they got to the hotel he wouldn't find the taser.
Friends pretend to be each other bfs when endangered
Being an RA was very hard. Not like calculus hard where you could ask a nerd and eventually get the hang of solving it. No, being an RA required all of her soul being sold to the devil, or as her dorm neighbors called her, being a bitch.
Bette blamed the job on the 'devil' thing but the 'bitch' nickname followed her since high school. Zatanna presented the idea of going to a local bar and drinking her stress out. Bette jumped her in cheerfulness because at least Zee was still Zee. She knew what would cheer her up and she would make it happen. Zee was the sexiest girl that majored in Literature; from her long legs to her perfectly black hair she was beautiful. Bette liked her though because Zee was a poker fan and would always win them free drinks at bars. Bette would prefer to sex her stress out but the drinking was a start.
Finally she could wear her blonde curls freely and put some red lipstick for a change. Zatanna came by to dress with her. She brought her classic black mini dress and gave Bette a navy blue back less dress. Dolling up was definitely their favorite part.
"I'm not sure about leaving Megan alone as RA replacement." Bette said while curling her hair in front of a mirror. "She's too shy you know, and there are some girls in room 4A, Zee I swear they either have a dog or keep a boy in there. I can't even handle them."
"Come on Bette, you're freaking out, I'm pretty sure Megan is more than what she lets people know of her and 4A? isn't that where the famous Artemis lives?"
"Famous is a good word she's known for being troublesome."
"I already like her."
"Me too but I have to say she's bad influence"
They giggled at their own wicked thoughts and with some final mascara touches started heading out. Zatanna did ask Bette to invite the Artemis girl for next hang out.
Billy Hayes was not the good kind of trouble. Bette felt her knees go weak when she saw him. He looked very drunk, his black ripped jeans and open up button shirt only made him look more dangerous. Zatanna had her blue eyes glued to his naked chest though.
"Hey, he is not good." Bette murmured through her third glass of margarita.
"You only make me want him more." Zee said smirking, her eyes still focused on the man that now was looking directly at their table. Bette felt her stomach churn and her blood turn cold. She knew Billy Hayes for his bad reputation with the gangs and he was the kind of creep that collected toy swords.
"Omg Zee are you crazy! He is a creep!" Bette whispered.
"Calm down Bette I'm not going to do anything. Sheesh you said you were going to stop your RA mode."
"Zee, this is normal sane Bette. She says he is bad and not the kind of bad you are allowed to fuck. She is giving you an example of how he talks as well."
"He talks in third person? Okay, fine he is weird, but I just accepted the drinks he sent us."
"Zee you are dead to me." Bette said putting down her glass and picking her purse.
She felt his presence too late. He sat right in front of Zatanna looking directly into her eyes using his forearms on the table to inch into her.
That seemed to at least make Zee's lips twitch, clear sign she wasn't as comfortable as she claimed to be around hot guys.
"Yeah, hi." Bette said interrupting whatever flirt session might happen. Zee promised no third wheeling on girl's night.
"Hello. She has a name?"
"No she doesn't." Bette answered smug about proving Zee how weird he was. Zee gave her a "ok you were right" face even if it pained her.
"Look, um.." Bette started,
"His name is Billy."
"Yes Billy... we are kind of in the middle of a date so…" Bette continued.
"Yeah, she's my girlfriend. We're lesbians." Zatanna continued with her blonde friend's charade. Billy had the guts to smirk for a while but left without even saying goodbye.
Zatanna smiled proudly because pretending to be each other's partner always scared away the nuisances.
"Damn Bette, I see why you are the RA."
"It's the bitch part right?"
"Yeah, and because you know how to look after idiot people."
They laughed knowing they wouldn't stop their night for one hot, creepy guy. "Besides we haven't harassed the muscle-y bartender yet so night is not over." Zee told her as if reading her thoughts.
Bette had to admit Zatanna was the best at cheering up.
BONUS:
Sadly for Bart, Jaime did find the taser. Luckily for Cissie she fell asleep the second Jaime opened the hotel door. Her black shirt had ridden up until Jaime could see her stomach and the rim of her purple bra.
His cheeks colored but he merely looked away trying to deny that, and focusing on the groaning idiot that was curling on the floor.
"What did you inhale?"
"Nothing illegal"
"Bart we can't have you doing these things anymore."
"I didn't do anything wrong"
"You know what, I will call Wally"
"Oh please no I beg of you have mercy! He will tell Barry. Man, no I will be good I promise. We didn't even touch anything private, just kissing."
"Ugh. I didn't need to know"
"She's pretty good at it. Kissing. French kissing."
"Hermano, ya no quiero saber…"
"Muy bueno"
Jaime sighed hoping the conversation was over.
"I meant…muy bueno el beso."
Jaime didn't even feel bad when Bart writhed in pain after being tased again.
