Chapter 10: The Tragic Past
It has been a few days cense the birthday party. Takashi was out with Grayfia grocery shopping. Takashi was carrying many bags in both arms.
"Thank you for your help, Takashi-sama," Grayfia said to the silver haired boy.
"Don't worry about it, Grayfia-san. You take care of me, Buchou, and Asia-chan, this is the least I can do," Takashi said with a smile to the maid.
Grayfia frowned as she said ", I am sorry for not noticing Creuserey Asmodeus' appearance here. I promised Sirzechs-sama that I would watch over you."
"It was not your fault that Creuserey snuck in. It's my fault for revealing myself in the Rating Game. But can I ask you something," Takashi said with a confused look on his face.
"What do you want to ask, Takashi-sama," Grayfia asked?
"When I was at Rukia-chan's birthday party I heard some voices," Takashi said.
"Voices," Grayfia asked in confusion?
"Yeah. I was the only one that could hear them. This caused Mary-san, one of the Excalibur users, wanted to check something and asked for my number to inform me about something if she was right," Takashi said as the confused look on his face to get worse.
"It can't be…," Grayfia said before trailing off with a shocked look on her face.
"It can't be what, Grayfia-san," Takashi asked the maid?
"Oh, it's nothing, Takashi-sama. You don't have to worry about it," Grayfia said as her face returned to normal.
"If you say so. Oh were back," Takashi said as he noticed that they have returned home.
When Grayfia and Takashi entered, they noticed that Rias, and Asia were in the living room with Sona and Tsubaki.
"Sona-Kaichou, Tsubaki senpai. Welcome. Please let me take these bags to the kitchen and then I will join you," Takashi asked the two student council members?
"Please take your time, Lord Cidrit. We need to inform you of certain events, so we will wait," Sona said with a serious tone.
Takashi noticed the seriousness in Sona's voice and rushed the bags to the kitchen. When he got to the living room he sat in between Rias and Asia, who were sitting across from Sona and Tsubaki.
"Now that Takashi is here, Sona can you tell us what has caused you to talk to us in person," Rias asked her friend?
Grayfia came in with tea. After Sona took a sip of tea, she said ", earlier today a group of three female exorcists visited me today."
"What do they want, Sona," Rias asked with a calm voice as she sipped some tea?
"I am surprised at your response Rias. I thought you would be a bit surprised at hearing that some exorcists talked to me," Sona said with a calculating tone.
"We met them a few days ago," Rias said in reply.
Both Sona and Tsubaki became shocked at Rias' words.
"What do you mean you met them a few days ago," Sona asked with a serious tone in her voice?
"Ta-Ka-Shi~," Tiamat, who is in human form and naked, said lovingly as she appeared out of nowhere and wrapped her arms around Takashi's neck.
"Tiam-," Takashi said before Tiamat shoved his face into her chest.
Because of Tiamat's sudden appearance, Rias has an annoyed look on her face, Asia has an expression of jealousy on her's, and Sona and Tsubaki have looks of shock on their faces.
"Rias, who is this woman," Sona demanded!
Rias sighed as she said ", Sona, Tsubaki, this is Tiamat the Dragon King. She is Takashi's familiar." She and Asia then pulled Takashi, who has went limp from lack of oxygen, away from Tiamat.
"Tiamat! She's Lord Cidrit's familiar," Sona yelled in shock!
"Yeah. She willingly chose to be his familiar. I was shocked when she chose to fallow Takashi," Rias explained as she laid Takashi's unconscious head on her lap. This caused Asia to look at Rias with a look of envy.
After Sona recovered from the shock of Tiamat's appearance, she continued the earlier topic. "Back to our main topic. You met the exorcists a few days ago," she said with her usual serious face.
"Yes. We met them when we went to Takashi's sister's birthday party. One of them is a childhood friend of his sister," Rias said as she was keeping Tiamat away from Takashi with some magic.
"I see. Well they will be visiting you in the next few days. They want to ask you something that has been happening around town recently," Sona said as she sipped more tea.
"Does it have anything to do with the dead exorcists we have been finding," Rias asked as she petted the sleeping Takashi's head?
"I do not know but please inform me of what the exorcists want," Sona said as she and Tsubaki got up from the coach they were sitting on. They bowed then headed for the front door.
"Will do, Sona. See you tomorrow," Rias said as she waved goodbye to Sona and Tsubaki as they left.
"See you," Sona said as she and Tsubaki left the mansion.
After a while Takashi woke up to see Rias' smiling face hanging above his.
"Hello sleepy head," Rias said playfully.
"Buchou, what happened," Takashi said sluggishly. When he realized where he was he sat up as he said," sorry," with an embarrassed look on his face.
"Don't worry about it, Takashi. Tiamat suffocated you until you passed out, so I let you sleep on my lap," Rias said with a smile.
"Tiamat huh," Takashi looked around the room until he found Tiamat sitting in a corner with a dunce hat on.
"Sorry Takashi," Tiamat said with tears in her eyes.
"It's ok. Just don't suffocate me again," Takashi said as she walked over to her and held out a hand to the Dragon King.
"Ok," Tiamat said as she took his hand with a smile on her face.
This is when Takashi noticed Tiamat is not wearing any cloths and blood starts to flow from his nose. This time Takashi passes out from blood loss instead of lack of air.
It was the next day when Takashi awoke. Noticed that Rias, Asia, and Tiamat, all naked, were in the bed with him.
'These girls are going to be the death of me. Though I don't mind that,' Takashi said as he look over at the sleeping Rias clinging to his arm. 'Especially if it's you,' he mentally added as he smiled.
A knock came from the door.
"Everyone it is time to get up," Grayfia said as she opened the door.
The girls began to stir from the wakeup call.
"Morning girls," Takashi said with a smile as he got his freedom from girls' iron grip.
"Morning Takashi," Rias said as she rubbed her eyes.
"Morning Takashi-san," Asia said with a cute little yawn.
"Five more minutes," Tiamat said as she rolled over to go back to sleep.
"Tiamat-sama, if you do not get up now you will not get to eat today," Grayfia said plainly but threateningly to the Dragon King.
"I'm up," Tiamat yells as she jumps out of bed to get ready and ran passed the maid.
Since Takashi was the most awake at the time he laughed at Tiamat's reaction.
At school.
During a break between classes Takashi started to talk to Yuuto.
"Yuuto-kun, you know stuff about legendary swords, right," Takashi asked his blonde friend?
"I know some. Why do you ask," Yuuto asked in reply?
"What do you know about Excalibur," Takashi asked?
Yuuto's expression became dark. "Why Excalibur," he asked?
Takashi whispered to Yuuto ", some Excalibur users have shown up in town. I just want to know what I have to look out for."
Yuuto said nothing as his expression darkened.
"You ok," Takashi asked?
Yuuto snapped out of his silence and said ", yeah, I'm fine. Can we talk about this latter?"
"Yeah. That's fine," Takashi said worryingly at the expression on his friend's face.
It was after school when Takashi and Asia headed for the club room. When they got to the door to the club room, they heard yelling.
"Why won't you let me go after them, Buchou," yelled a voice that was clearly Yuuto's in a rage!
"Because you are not thinking clearly, Yuuto. If you go as you are now, you will just get yourself killed," Rias yelled sternly!
"Fine I'll go after them myself, even without your permission," Yuuto yelled as he ran out the door, knocking Asia on to the floor.
"Yuuto," Rias yelled out!
Yuuto looked back and said ", sorry," then he ran off.
After helping Asia up, Takashi went into the clubroom with her.
Rias was sitting behind the desk as Akeno served her tea. Rias has an annoyed look on her face as she puts her hand to her forehead.
"Buchou, what was that about," Takashi asked Rias with a worried look on his face?
"It's about Yuuto's past," Rias said as she took a sip of her tea.
"His past," Asia asked?
"Yes. His past in the Holy Sword Project," Rias said with a stern look on her face.
"What is the Holy Sword Project, Buchou," Takashi asked his master?
"Before I can tell you, I must first tell you about holy swords," Rias said as she put her tea down.
Takashi and Asia nodded to inform Rias that they are ready to listen.
"Holy swords can only be used by select individuals. It is said that only one person every decade can use a holy sword. And because of this low rate of users the Church cannot use their greatest weapons. They came up with a plan to artificially make holy sword users, but the project took a turn for the worst when the person that was in charge of the project went insane," Rias said in explanation as her expression darkened.
"What happened," Takashi asked as he and Asia developed looks of dread on their faces?
"The person in charge deemed the project a failure and had the test subjects terminated," Rias said with anger in her voice.
"That's horrible. Why would a believer of god do such a thing," Asia said as she covered her face in shock.
"Yuuto-kun is the sole survivor," Takashi asked?
Rias nodded at the question.
