Chapter 11: The Truth of Excalibur
It has been a day since Rias told Takashi and Asia Yuuto's dark past and no one has seen the blond boy since. Takashi is in the clubroom with everyone. Asia and Tiamat are sitting next to him while Akeno and Koneko are sitting across from them, Akeno is drinking tea and Koneko is eating snacks. Rias is behind her desk doing paper work. Takashi has taken the story of Yuuto's past to heart and is trying to think of a way to help Yuuto find closer.
"Takashi-san, are you ok," Asia asks with a worried look on her face?
Takashi snaps out of his thoughts and said with a forced smile ", I'm fine, Asia-chan."
Asia looked at Takashi knowing that the smile was fake.
"Buchou, I'm not feeling well. Is it ok if I head home," Takashi asked Rias in a sad tone?
Rias could tell Takashi was down, so she said with a sigh ", Ok Takashi. You may head home. I will check up on you when I get home."
"Thank you, Buchou," Takashi said as he stood up and headed for the door.
Then Tiamat stood up with a smile and said ", since Takashi is leaving then so am I."
Koneko looked at Takashi with her version of a worried look as he and Tiamat left the room.
As he and Tiamat were about to walk out the front gate, Takashi heard Rukia calling for him.
"Nii-chan," Rukia yelled as she ran up to her brother!
"Hello, Rukia-chan," Tiamat said with a cheerful smile.
"What's up, Rukia-chan," Takashi asked his sister?
"I should be the one asking that. You never leave this early," Rukia said with a serious face.
"I'm not feeling well, so I'm heading home early," Takashi said with a tired look on his face.
Rukia then had an idea. "If that's the case, then can I come with you? I haven't seen your new place yet," She said with a smile.
Takashi thought about it for a second and said ", ok just don't freak out."
"Ok, Nii-chan," Rukia said happily as she, Takashi, and Tiamat headed to Takashi's place.
When they got to the mansion, Rukia had a look of shock at the sight of the four story building.
Takashi laughed a little at his sister's face as he said ", don't worry, I had the same face when I first saw it."
"Why is the place so big," Rukia asked as they enter the place?
"It's so that people from my home country have a place to stay without worrying about a hotel," Takashi said with a made up story as they entered the living room and sat on one of the many couches, Takashi in between the two girls, and turned on the TV. Tiamat then began to cling to Takashi's arm, which made Rukia jealous as she to cling to his other arm. Takashi just sighed at the attention because he was not in the mood for such things.
After some time Grayfia came in with a pitcher and some glasses.
Takashi introduced Grayfia to Rukia. "Rukia-chan, this is Grayfia-san. She is the maid that Buchou mentioned."
Grayfia politely bowed as she said ", hello, Rukia-sama. As Takashi-sama said, I am the maid here."
'Another beauty,' Rukia thought as one of her eyes began to twitch. She let go of Takashi's arm stood up and returned the bow as she said ", hello Grayfia-san. I'm Takashi's sister Rukia."
As the two women came up from the bows, Grayfia asked ", Rukia-sama, are you staying for dinner?"
Rukia then asked Takashi as she sat back down ", is it ok if I stay, Nii-chan?"
Takashi took a minute to think and then he said ", its fine. Just call mom and dad to let them know you will be late and that I will walk you home."
"Thanks, Nii-chan," Rukia said as she kissed Takashi on the cheek, causing him to blush, and ran out of the room to call home.
After some time and Rukia and Tiamat fighting for Takashi's attention, Rias and Asia returned home.
"What are you two doing here," Rukia yelled when she noticed the arrival of the two girls!
The two girls looked over to see Rukia sitting next to Takashi.
"Hello, Rukia-chan. How are you," Asia asked with a smile?
"That doesn't answer my question. Why are you two here," Rukia yelled again!
Rias sighed as she said ", Takashi you didn't tell her that we live here as well."
A look of shock appeared on Rukia's face at the new information.
Takashi rubbed the back of his head with his free arm as he said ", sorry Buchou, it never came up so I didn't mention it."
Grayfia soon enter the room. "Welcome back, Rias-sama, Asia-sama. Shall I start preparing dinner," she said with a bow.
"We're back, Grayfia. Yes, please start dinner, I am famished," Rias said as she took a seat next to Takashi after moving Tiamat out of the way, which almost started a fight if not for Grayfia butting in.
Asia looked on in envy from her position on another coach at Rias and Rukia sitting next to Takashi.
After a few hours and dinner, Takashi took Rukia back home. On his way back it started to rain. While running to get back to the mansion as fast as possible, Takashi heard the clanging of metal as if people were fighting with weapons. He rushed to the source of the sound. What he found was Yuuto and Freed in a sword fight.
Yuuto and Freed were moving at speeds that normal humans could not move at let alone see. Yuuto is using a white sword with a diamond pattern on it while Freed is using a sword that looks like a scimitar that is emitting a yellow aurora.
"What'sthisfeeling? Thisisthefeelingofachosen. Butthatcan'tbe,ithasn'tbeenthatlong. Whatever,heykidtakemefromthispsycho," said a fast talking voice.
'Another voice,' Takashi thought as Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing appeared.
[Time to fight, Aibou,] Ddraig asked from the jewels of the Boosted Gear?
[That sword! Partner, watch out that sword is an Excalibur,] Albion warned.
Freed looked over to see Takashi preparing to enter the fray. "Another shitty devil appears. It seems my play time with Mr. Pretty boy is over," he said as he threw a ball at the ground. Then a flash of light appeared, forcing Takashi and Yuuto to cover their eyes. When the light died down Freed was gone. "Let's play again soon, you shitty devils," Freed's voice echoed!
"Yuuto-kun, are you ok," Takashi asked his friend as he ran to the boy?
Yuuto muttered something in a low tone and then he ran off.
Takashi tried to fallow Yuuto but he was too fast enough. Takashi tried to look for Yuuto to no avail. He ran back to the mansion to tell Rias what happened. He burst through the door out of breath and soaked to the bone.
"Takashi, what's wrong," Rias asked in urgency as she, Asia, and Tiamat ran up to Takashi from the living room?
"I… saw… Yuuto-kun… fighting… with Freed," Takashi said as he tried to regain his breath.
"What," Rias said in shock as Grayfia ran in with a towel.
"Thanks… Grayfia-san. Freed was… using an… Excalibur," Takashi said as he took the towel.
"Why would Freed have an Excalibur," Rias asked Takashi with urgency?
"I do not… know. It may… be what… Irina-san and… the others… are here for," Takashi said as he dried himself off with the towel.
"Maybe you are right, Takashi. I will ask them about at tomorrow's meeting," Rias said as she put her hand to her chin.
"Wait, your meeting with them tomorrow," Takashi asked in shock from the news.
"Yes, that is the reason Sona visited a while ago," Rias said as she began to think about the new information.
Takashi began to worry about what Mary, Irina, and Xenovia will do when they find out that he is a devil.
"Well. It's late. Let's go to bed and deal with it tomorrow," Rias said as she headed to the elevator to go to bed.
Everyone else soon followed suit and went to bed.
It was after school the next day as Takashi heard a rumor that three foreign girls entered the school grounds. He instantly knew who it was and ran to the club room. When he ran into the club room, he saw Rias sitting on one of the coaches with Akeno, Koneko, Asia, and Tiamat standing behind her. He also saw Irina, Mary, and Xenovia sitting on the other. Mary and Xenovia have their swords wrapped in their white cloth and next to them.
When Takashi entered the room everyone looked at him. Irina and Mary had a look of shock at seeing Takashi there, while Xenovia remained stone faced.
"Takashi, you're late," Rias said sternly.
"Sorry Buchou," Takashi said as he took a place standing next to Asia.
Irina continued to stare at Takashi while Mary regained her composer.
"Why, if I may so ask, are members of the church here in devil territory," Rias asked with a serious tone in her voice to the three girls from the Church?
"We came to retrieve something stole from the Church and to see if you had anything to do with the theft," Mary said with condescending tone in her voice.
"Does this have anything to do with a rouge priest using an Excalibur and the dead exorcists we have been finding in the city," Rias asked in reply with a serious look on her face?
Mary sighed before saying ", yes is does. About a week ago three of the seven Excaliburs were stolen by some fallen angels."
"There are seven Excaliburs. I thought that there was only one," Asia said in confusion.
Xenovia then stared at Asia as she said ", the original Excalibur broke into seven pieces long ago. The Church found the seven fragments and used alchemy to forge seven new swords."
Irina continued the explanation with a smile after she snapped out of her shock. "While the sword made from the core of the original was taken to heaven, the other six were given to the Vatican, the Orthodox Church, and the Protestant Church. A sword from each one was stolen."
"To answer your question. We had nothing to do with the Excaliburs being stolen," Rias said sternly at Mary.
"We just wanted to be sure. The Excaliburs being stolen benefit not just the fallen angels but also you devils as well," Xenovia said as she slowly moved her hand to her sword.
"That may be true but I would never work with the fallen angels," Rias said with a serious tone in her voice as she just glares at the Excalibur users.
"That's good. So all we have to do is deal with the fallen angels. From now on until this incident is over we ask that you and your servants stay out of this," Mary asked sternly?
"We'll stay out of it but if they come to us we will defend ourselves," Rias said in agreement.
"We understand. Thank you for your time," Mary said in thanks as she took her sword and stood up to leave along with Irina and Xenovia.
When Mary was about to open the door, Xenovia looked over as Asia and asked ", are you Asia Argent?"
"Yes I am," Asia said in reply.
"I thought it was you, the heretical witch," Xenovia said plainly.
Those words made Asia freeze in fear and made Takashi tighten his fists in anger.
"For a holy maiden to become a devil. You have surely fallen so low," Xenovia said mockingly.
"Xenovia, you have gone a bit too far," Mary said with an annoyed tone to her teammate.
Xenovia ignored Mary and continued. "Do you still believe in the Lord," she asked Asia?
"I do. Since as far back as I can remember the Lord has been a part of my life. So it is hard for me to give it up," Asia said with tears in her eyes.
"Then shall I kill you," Xenovia said plainly.
"Xenovia," Mary yelled in anger!
"What," Takashi yelled as he stood in between Asia and Xenovia!
"Those that have left the faith tend to have guilt about leaving and still have some faith in the Lord," Xenovia said with a smirk on her face.
"Take that back," Takashi said in anger at Xenovia.
"Takashi don't," Rias said sternly.
"Xenovia that is enough. We did what we came here to do. Now we need to leave," Mary said as she grabbed Xenovia by the shoulder.
"I'm just stating a fact that heretics need to die for their crimes," Xenovia said to Mary.
Those words made something in Takashi snap. In a split second Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing appeared and he rushed Xenovia. Just as she uncovered her sword, which was a broad sword with ax blades on the guard, Takashi took it from her and slammed her against the wall with the blade of her Excalibur at her throat.
Everyone had a look of shock on their faces at the site of Takashi wielding the Excalibur without pain.
"Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing! How is this possible," Irina said in shock.
"Why can you use my Excalibur," Xenovia asked in shock?
"The hell I know. All I know is that you people of the church are hypocrites. Because you people didn't understand Asia-chan's kindness you threw her out," Takashi yelled in anger!
Asia felt nothing but kindness from Takashi's words as she covered her mouth with her hands as if she was speechless.
Mary felt a bit sick and ashamed as she said ", the reason he can use the Excalibur is because he is Excalibur's chosen one."
"Excalibur's chosen one," Rias asked in confusion?
"About once every hundred years, a person is born with the ability to hear the voice of the sword and that person is destined to use the strongest Excalibur, Excalibur Ruler. Only Excalibur's chosen can use Excalibur Ruler because one must understand the will of Excalibur to use Ruler's power."
Everyone was shocked at the new information.
"So Takashi is the first person in a century to hear these voices," Rias asked in shock?
"No he's not. The last chosen disappeared 18 years ago. No one has seen her since," Mary said in reply.
"This is unforgiveable. For a devil to be chosen to wield the greatest holy sword is unforgivable," Xenovia yelled!
"What you said to Asia-chan is even more unforgivable. I don't care about wielding some sword, I want you to apologize to Asia-chan," Takashi said in anger to the pinned Xenovia.
"Why would I apologize to a heretic," Xenovia yelled back?
"It seems I have to force you to apologize," Takashi said with anger in his words.
"Fine then. With this I can destroy the stain of the history of the holy swords," Xenovia said with a smirk on her face.
"Mind if I join," said a voice?
Everyone looked over to see Yuuto leaning on the door.
"Who are you," Irina asked?
"Your senpai," Yuuto said in a dark tone as he glared at the Excalibur users.
