Chapter 8
EMILY'S POV
"Hey pops." I embraced him with a smile. She hugged me back. I had missed him. Even though the MC was his job, and it the reason why our family had so much money I would trade it all to have my family back. I missed my mother as well, she was my dads old lady and also the club's secretary. I assumed she was back in Brooklyn doing one of those old lady training seminars.
"Emmy! I've missed you." He beamed. He kept using that nickname and I loved just as much as I did when I was five. He sat down on the couch next to me. "Ivy told me that she met your girlfriend today. Do you think the club could meet her too?" He asked politely. I was cautious about that. Alison and I had just started our relationship, saying that my family had started one of the most notorious outlaw motorcycle clubs in history might scare her off a tiny bit. But, he seemed like he was generally interested in the club meeting her. The club was more than a club to me, they were like my family. The same thing applied to my dad.
"I'll ask her...But no cuts." I started seriously. Cuts were the leather vests that MC's wore. He looked at me in disbelief. "No seriously dad. I want this thing with Alison to last, I really like her. She' so different from all the other girls I've hooked up." My father seemed intrigued.
"Different how?" He asked.
"She was in a coma for three months from a hit and run accident." I stated.
"Wow, thats certainly interesting. But I know its more than that." He remarked. I sighed. He smiled at me.
"Ali puts her heart into everything she does, and she doesn't give up on anything. Its amazing. She makes every girl pale in comparison. I've never felt this way about any other girl." I quipped.
"Thats not true Emily…" I knew who he was going to say, and he'd be right. "What about Blaze?" He asked me. My smile dropped. "She's still apart of the MC, and we're going to be stationed in Rosewood for a while there's a chance you could fall for her again." He stated.
"I don't think of Blaze as a girl I was in love with anymore...I think of her as the whore from the Yin and Yang MC who broke my heart." I said, not wanting to talk about it. The Yin and Yang was the name of the MC...Blaze was the reason I left the MC in the first place, I couldn't deal with seeing her anymore.
"Come on Emmy, we need you. Since we moved our charter back to Rosewood a bunch of our members transferred to other charters within the MC. All we've got is Blaze, me, Tiggy, Hunter, and Cole...We need you sweetie." He begged.
"Who would be my riding partner?" I asked him.
"Blaze." I rolled my eyes. I refused to call her 'Blaze' anymore. I was just going to call her her actual name now, Maya.
"You know I'll think about it. You can go ahead and invite the MC over. Maya can come too, but if she makes a scene I'm done with the MC." He nodded in agreement. I got up and headed to my room. Tomorrow at school was going to be hell.
ALISON'S POV
I was in study hall, in the library. No one was around. Not even the librarian was here, it was literally empty. I grabbed my ipod and turned up the volume. I looked out the library windows into the halls, and no students were walking by. I tried so hard to resist singing along to my favorite band. But I couldn't do that any longer.
"Hello, hello, hello, how low? Hello, hello, hello!" Singing 'Smells like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana could make anyone feel like a badass.
"With the lights out, it's less dangerous. Here we are now, entertain us. I feel stupid and contagious. Here we are now, entertain us!" I sung a little bit too loudly. I opened my eyes to see a smirking Emily sitting on top of one of the tables. I immediately turned red. She chuckled a little at that.
"You don't have to stop on my account. You could be Kurt Cobain and I'll be Dave Grohl." She joked I laughed and took my earphones out of my ear.
"Hows it going?" I asked her, she slid off the table and gave me a soft kiss on the cheek. I blushed heavily. She leaned back against the table and grabbed my hand.
"Its going great...especially since I'm talking to the most beautiful girl in the world." She complimented.
"Do you say that to all the girls?" I teased.
"No just you...because there can't be more than one most beautiful girl in the world, and I'm afraid that title belongs to you." I smiled. "Listen I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come meet the rest of my family tonight. My dad, Ivy again, and some...uncles." She seemed to be contemplating what she would say.
"Yeah I would love to. What about your mom?" I asked carefully.
"She's in Brooklyn doing um, you know, the..." She was extremely nervous. "She's just taking care of some family business." Shes said finally. "Spencer and Hanna will be there as well, you could invite Cece if you want." I smiled.
"I gotta get back to Spence and Han. I'll text you at lunch." She kissed me on the lips quickly before making an abrupt exit.
EMILY'S POV
"Why do we have to go?" Hanna complained.
"Because Tiggy and Cole are your uncles Hanna...Spencer you have to go because Hunter is your cousin. It'll just make everyone more comfortable." I assured.
"Did you ask your dad my my parents?" Spencer asked. I nodded.
"Yeah. Peter and Veronica are in Brooklyn with my mom, training the prospects, talking to the old ladies. Hanna your mom is still with a virginia charter. The Yin and Yang is still very strong. Its just we need more people for the Rosewood charter...Are you guys going to join?" Thats why Hanna, Spencer, and I were so close. Our families were all core members of the MC.
"No, I can't be apart of that lifestyle. You shouldn't either Em, you know how toxic that club is." Spencer stated.
"I told my old man I'd think about it...you should probably know that Maya is gonna be there too." I said. Hanna and Spencer rolled their eyes. I knew their reaction would be something like that. I couldn't blame them, in fact when I finally came face to face with her my reaction would be less than friendly to say the least. The air inside the cafeteria was strangely cool, making me shiver slightly. I looked around our table and Noel was being an idiot as usual with the rest of our friends. Suddenly the cafeteria doors opened...it was the girl I never expected to see...Maya. I dropped my fork onto the table.
"I call dibs Em!" Noel yelled, obviously looking at the same girl I was.
"You can keep her." I scoffed, still looking in the blondes direction. It was then that she turned to me, her green emerald eyes met mine. She smirked and started walking towards our table. have her." I scoffed. I looked at Hanna and Spencer and they were just as shocked as I was. I quickly got up and maneuvered over to Ali's table. I quickly sat down and put my arm around her shoulder in a loving way.
"Hey Em, you okay? You seem nervous." She pointed out. I was about to deny that but then Maya walked up to our table.
"I'd like to talk to you." She said firmly. Alison and Cece looked at me for an explanation.
"She's my cousin." I quickly lied. I received a pointed look from Maya, but I ignored it. "And I'm busy Maya."
"I don't give two shits about what you're doing. Get up." I was actually going to laugh at her. She still thought she could tell me what to do? Instead Cece laughed, Maya turned to her.
"Something funny Blondie?" She asked threateningly..This was going to go so bad.
Cece stood up from her seat and put her hands on her hips. "There is actually something funny." She started quietly. "Listen bitch…" She couldn't even get out another word before Maya grabbed her by the collar and pinned her down against our table, making the food shake slightly. Maya leaned into her.
"Bitch is a very cool word...I had a lot of them in prison." She stated, smirking. I didn't even have to contemplate if that was true or not, I knew it was. I got up quickly and pulled Maya off of Cece. I grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the cafeteria with me, everyone looking at us as I did so. I pulled her into the empty library I was in with Alison earlier. She took off her leather cut and sat in on the table and started pulling her shirt off.
"What the fuck are you doing?!" I yelled at her. She pulled her shirt back down.
"Oh sorry, you just seemed kinda eager to see me." She teased. She sat down in a chairs and put her feet up on one of the tables. "I'm actually trying to get an education. Your girlfriend is pretty by the way." She added, smirking.
"Shut the fuck up." I said sternly. "I suggest you stay out of my way, and stay away from my friends...Or I'll kill you." I threatened. She smiled at me.
"Wow, you're finally talking like an outlaw." She put her feet down and leaned towards me, with both of her elbows resting on the table. "I know what you think about our MC, we do a lot of bad things. But just because we do bad things doesn't mean we're bad people." I sat down at the table.
"Thats what you're really here for isn't it? You want me to join. Why?" I asked her honestly.
"Because I need you there with me, when we were stationed her I had you to keep me going Em. I don't even know what we stand for anymore." She seemed to be honestly speaking her mind. "I know that you're dating that other girl out there, I'm not asking to get back together. I'm asking for you to be there for me." I nodded and cleared my throat.
"Okay." I said simply said. She smiled and I gave a small one back.
Later that day…
Alison's POV
Emily and I both were laying down in my bed, My head was against her chest. We had been like this for a couple of hours. "I could lay on your chest and listen to your heartbeat all day." I said quietly. Emily continued gently playing with my hair. "You have exactly 53 beats every minute. It doesn't change at all, it's the most constant thing." I looked up at Emily and she smiled.
"I love when you say poetic things like that." I laughed. "You know Ali, I think you're a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for. I mean when the car hit you, it caused some crazy damage, especially to your head...and somehow your GPA is higher than Hanna and I's combined." I laughed once again. "I'm really happy I met you Alison, I hope you know that." She caressed my face in such a loving way. I held onto her wrist as she continued.
"I am too." I sat up straight and gave Emily a small kiss on the cheek. "Do you want to stay the night?" I asked her boldly.
"That would be cool. I can stay out of my families way while they move all of their stuff in." I nodded, something had been on my mind all day. I decided now was a good time to discuss it.
"What's with that that girl?" I asked, I was hoping she'd be honest with me. She sighed, I could tell she was thinking about something big.
"Spencer, Hanna and I are all connected. We aren't just best friends. Our grandparents are the founding members of the outlaw motorcycle club the Yin and Yang. Maya is a member, my dad is the clubs president. Maya was also my ex girlfriend, they were stationed somewhere else, now they are back...and Maya wants me to join." It took a couple of minutes for me to gather my thoughts. "I understand if you want to break up with me." She finished. I grabbed her hands.
"Emily, nothing could keep me away from you. Its not my business if you join. Its your families whole life, if you want to be apart of that too, I shouldn't be the thing holding you back." I spoke honestly. She smiled sadly.
"But it is your business Alison, I'd be putting you at risk every time I sat on my bike." I rolled my eyes.
"Emily, I hate to break it to you...but you can't get rid of me that easily. I got hit by a fucking car, and was in a coma for three months, I think I'm immune to danger." I joked. Emily chuckled.
"I can drive you to your checkup tomorrow." Emily said. I just nodded. I looked out my bedroom window, it seemed like the sky had changed colors so quickly. It went from light blue to pitch black in what felt like minutes. The sky wasn't the only thing that was changing quickly though. My medical condition was as well. Dr. Stevens' had said the nerves in my hands had been repairing themselves, and that my brain cells had somehow multiplied back to their normal, my heart was no longer beating abnormally, and my speech was so much better. She had said it was a miracle if she had ever seen one.
"What are you thinking about Emily?" I asked the brunette.
"My life has become one big I don't know...The only thing that I really do know is that you mean absolutely everything to me Alison." She confessed. I completely gave her my attention. Her eyes were chocolate brown with tones of amber in them that seemed to dance in the sunlight. At sunset, they would have golden flecks in them that would fade as night settled in. Her long, brown eyelashes framed her eyes and gave them the perfect shape. They had a certain sadness in them that was apparent when she looked away from me, but they were beautiful nonetheless. These eyes were lovely and strong, the kind of eyes you would see in an angel. They had the power to captivate me with attention, and I always found myself gazing at them for longer than I should have. They held warmth and knowledge in them, but secrets as well.
I snuggled even further into her. "Nights with you should last forever." I simply said. It was simple, but it was so complex at the same time. Emily leaned down and kissed me on the top of my head. She wrapped her arms around me tightly.
"Goodnight Ali." She spoke softly.
"Goodnight Em." I said back in the same tone she had used.
Hey guys, I'm really sorry for the long wait. Its just that lately writing seems like more of a job than a hobby, I needed to separate myself and get a mental break. I have a lot going on right now, and its super hard to balance all the aspects of my life. I hope you guys understand.
