"You're crazy."

Blood spilled out from Gray's smirking lips, "I agree."

More of them enemies are coming for him, and by the sound of heavy rushing footsteps he heard, he doesn't have a choice.

Well, at least his plan is still going on smoothly... He guesses. He got what he wanted, the information, everything he needed.

"..Even if you kill me here, that won't stop us from attacking Magnolia and your gibberish guild." the other man, laid helplessly on the ground painting it red, mocked the ice mage.

"You don't even know what I'm capable of, now hush and listen carefully as I bomb this place. It's good music to your funeral, promise."

Something ticked beneath the grounds he was standing. The next second, the room came down and Gray had graciously exited on the nearest blown up hole in the wall.

Yeah, well. I'm crazy, after all.

He's at least twenty floors up from the ground that's nowhere near plain but instead rocky and steep. He curls himself into a ball and formed a shield. This is barely what he could make out of his magic left.

He landed painfully on the sharp branches of trees, rolled over vines, thick roots, mud and bumped on stones and came to him like a hundred beatings.

"Oh, god." he felt passing out if the excruciating pain after sliding off a heck of a long feet down stable ground.

"Just wait.. I'll be there before you know it..."

A day is what he's only desperate to have. A day more to at least come back to the guild and warn them before anything happens

Time skip:

"Good luck! Come back soon, alright?" was what Lucy said, winking at us while we send off to our mission.

It's all still chaotic outside this guild.. The enemies, the dark guilds, and who knows there were already forces infiltrating the kingdom's walls, too.. I know it wasn't Jellal's fault to kill that soldier.

I promise when we get back.. All will be fine again.. Jellal said to me night before. Valentines. He said it to me and I know it's the only thing I can hold on to right now. But what Mirajane said rang deep into my mind space.

"... Maybe next time, you'll catch Gray and say what you want to, Erza.." The once rival of mine said, her lips twisting in a smile I could not know what it meant.

I don't know what she meant.. Do I?

A warm hand snaked up to form a knot against my cold ones, "You're over-thinking things again, Scarlet." his deep, soothing voice is what I heard as we neared the borders of Magnolia.

"I.. Well, I'm just thinking about how we're going to end up when this is over."

But it's almost that he knew the question before I could even ask, "We'll do fine. We can start anew together. Be happy for the rest of lives.."

I nod in reply. He lets silence roam for awhile. Meredy and Ultear were separated from us, it'll make work done faster they said.

"..Are you happy?"

I snapped out of my thoughts, not knowing where did that question came from.

"Of course, I am. Why ask?" I landed my hands to cup his face towards me.

I smiled and he mirrored mine, too.

But there's something I just can't pinpoint why that smile wasn't as the same before.

"I just want you to be happy, Erza." he finally says, and I was taken aback.

It reminds me.. Go, find yourself and your true happiness..

He placed a finger on my chin and before I knew it, he kissed me as gently as he could. In the middle of the street. With people looking.

It was good. But I have to stop myself while I can. I gutted him and he doubled over slightly but I can see him smirk underneath blue locks of hair.

"What are you talking about, Jellal Fernandes? I am happy more than you can ever think of!" I ran off, leaving him. Taunting him to chase after me, he took the bait as easily and we were kids again when we dashed through the streets playing tag.

This man had this magic worked on me.. I dont know why he always found a way to bring a childish smile back on my face.

This is silly.. Why would I even bother looking for an answer?

The answer came hitting like a hurricane. No, really. Before I knew it I was spinning in the air and then it all went black.

A day is what he's only desperate to have. A day more to at least come back to the guild and warn them before anything happens. But it turns out maybe he is still a little late...

A/N: this story is nearing its end. Yay? Don't worry lots of JerZa soon. And Gray, it's okay.. I'll plan a thing for you.
