"Hey bro!" Gabriel called to his baby brother (not that he'd ever call him that to his face, angel of the lord and smiting and all), to the sound of fluttering fleathers behind him.

"Gabriel." The soldier replied in greeting, sitting stiffly on the sofa next to the archangel. Gabriel turned, expecting his brother to carry on and tell him what's up (he already knew what happened, being connected to angel radio 24/7 and all).

"Sooo?" he dragged out, grinning expectantly at the vessel next to him, who gave him a blank, tilted head expression. "How's Deano? And AJ right?" he continued, coaching an answer out. Castiel simply sighed, nodding his head.

"They are alright now, I suppose. Still a little shaken up but I'll watch over them." Of course he will, Gabe thought, he never takes his bloody eyes off his precious human. He would find it kind of adorable if it wasn't sickening. Back came the awkward silence that seemed to follow Cas wherever he went and Gabriel tried to disperse when he followed.

"Why'd you even send her anyway? Dean's a big boy, he can look after himself." Gabe asked, wondering his brother's motives. The brother who never understands humans so why does he suddenly understand what they want and need now? Cas looked uncomfortable, which is difficult for him as he practically never shows emotion, shuffling back and forth in his seat.

"So I could send someone to watch over him." he said, obviously not telling the truth. Gabriel looked at him then, wondering what was so important that he would bother to lie, being the bluntest angel to ever be created and all (which, knowing as many angels as he does, is a difficult position for someone to have for Gabriel).

"Pffft, don't spout crap. He could have looked after himself just fine. Try again." Gabe snarked, in a not giving two craps kinda feeling. Castiel slumped, knowing even he couldn't lie to Gabriel, literally the god of lying and deceit.

"…He needed a friend, someone who he didn't have to protect. And so did she." He replied in a sullen voice. Gabriel just looked at his brother, understanding finally. Castiel wanted to help… and, in his own little way, he did. Gabriel put his hand on the lower angel's shoulder.

"You did good brother."

AN: Done! What do you guys think? Did you like it? Was the ending satisfactory? I personally thought it was less rushed than I thought it would be. This was fun to right, so thanks for reading it guys.
