"For everyman that has ever loved a woman, they are always asked the same question at least once in their life." Guild-master Nicholas Cronus of the holy knights turned from the large window of the eatery of the Pantheon's ark that showed the vastness of space and turned to the redemon Beetlejuice and asked "And what question is that?" The ghost with the most took a sip from his beer can as he floated unconcernedly in the air and answered his guild-master. "What's your favorite feature about the woman you love?" The anthro wolf took a drag from his cigar and said "Which feature are we addressing Beetlegase? Physical or conceptual?" "It's a trick question." Beetlejuice replied. "The question works to reveal whether or not you love your girl for something about her body or something about her personality. If you say something like her face or just her body then that proves your just a prude that doesn't deserve love." "Then the only ones who can truly answer that question and not look like sex crazed moran are those who are truly in love." Replied the black crusader." "Damn straight." Replied Beetlejuice.
Although he did not intend for it to happen Ragamuffin found himself caught in the conversation with his guild-master and his fellow knights. It couldn't be helped, he was board and he didn't fell like doing much of anything today. He was hoping to spend more time with Lenore, but she then dropped the bomb about her little party with her friends. He spent most of the day wandering about the ship doing nothing at all. Then when he was hungry he stopped by the eatery and got some food. By chance his master Nick was also there. Since he failed to report his mission yesterday. He joined Nick for lunch and gave him the particulars of his mission and also voiced his option of being given such an easy mission. When he was done walking into the eatery was the boyfrieds of Lenore's friends. Haji, Beetlejucie, Skipper, Skullboy in his human form, and Evan. Like himself they were board because their girlfriends were attending Lenore's party. Like good friends they joined in with Nick and Ragamuffin and when the topic of Lenore's party came up the conversation switched to talking about their lovers and then beetlejuice bought up the question. "Does it just have to be one quality or can it be multiple?" Asked Skullboy. "That's the trick kid." Replied Beetlejucie. "The question is what was it about your girlfriend that made you fall in love with her in the first place?" "Well with Ruby that'd be a hard thing to narrow down." Replied Skullboy. "Well you asked the question Beetlejucie, why don't you answer it?" Said Nick. Beetlejucie said nothing at first but then said "I'm not afired to admit it, but my babes got a smoking hot bod, but if you want to get technical I'd say the thing I love most about her is that beautiful laugh of hers." "You love her for her laughter? That's not technical, that's just wired." Said Evan. "Be silent Evan." Said Nick. "That is Beetlejucie's option, and one cannot judge how someone loves another." Evan nodded and said "Yes sir." "But maybe Evan and all of us would understand your option if you explained it to us." Nick said. "Well…" Beettlejuice began scathing the back of his head. "You guys know how I was a trickster back in the netherworld?" "Yes you would pull pranks on ever denizen of that world and get in a lot of trouble for it." Said Haji. "And that was the problem; no one in that realm had a dame sense of humor!" Said Beetlejucie.
"All I tried to do was lighten things up but all I got was angry mobs and complaints. And it was like that for centuries. But then rebellious Lydia summons me and actually laughs at my pranks. No one's ever laughed my jokes before and that kind of what lead to us being friends and eventually lovers when lyds turned eighteen. I guess it also stems from the fact that I didn't have any friends back in the netherworld and she was my first one. I guess you can say I fell in love with her because she was the first person to appreciate me, and let me tell, her laugh is absolutely beautiful." The redemon then floted over Haji and said "What about you Haj? What's your favorite thing about Otonashi?" The often stoic chirtrion turned his head and said "That is none of you concern." "Awe come on Haji." Replied the floating demon. "From one former demon to another what do you say?" "No." Replied Haji. "You may say that Haji but you do have an answer." Said Nick. "The vampire demon faced his guild master and with almost emotion said "And how do you know that?" "I'm an empath remember? When Beeetlegase asked you I senced love and devotion. No dought you were thinking of Saya and the quality you like most about her." Haji said nothing at first but then said "Saya has many wonderful qualities. She is beautiful and very skilled in battle, but the thing I love about her the most is her smile." "And why that one?" Said Ragamuffin to his chirtrion cousin. "Saya…has lived a very tragic life. She has lost many friends and has spent much of her immortality fighting demons. But know-thanks to you Master Nicholas-Saya has made many wonderful friends and possible the end to all the fighting. Because of that she smiles much more often and I can see that she is happy for the first time in many years. It is that genuine smile on her face that lifts the darkness from my heart." "My father always said that protecting the smile of a woman is the duty of the man who loves her." Said Nick. The other warriors nodded in argument to their master's words. "And what trait of Creepie do you find most attractive Skipper?" Nick asked the tarantula boy. He said nothing at first, thinking about what was that drove to seek a relationship with Creepie. "Well I guess it would have to the fact that we both come from a simular background being rasied by insect nurture warriors. I mean everyone in that town was afraid of insects and it was great meeting someone I could talk to about it. And it was a big bounes that that person was a cute girl.
"You fell in love with her because you two can relate to each other more or less." Said Nick. Skipper surged and replied "More or less." The wolf beast man blew another cloud of smoke from his muzzle and said "And what is it that you find so atrictive about Ruby Skullboy?" Skullboy currently in his human form blushed from by being put in the spotlight. "Well.." He began putting together the right words that would perfectly describe his feelings for Ruby. "Ruby is beautiful and very strong; I'm not afired to admit it but she's way stronger than me. But the one problem I have is I love Ruby for loads of reasons that I can't narrow it down to a single attribute she has. She's kind and thoughtful, very loyal to all her friends, but above all she never gives up on anything, a friend or a mission." "You love her because she is your light." Said Nick. "My what?" Said Skullboy. Nick looked at the teen redemon and said "Skull, we all live a universe at war supernatural horrors sprung from the foulest pit of hell. Most men would go insane from such a fact. But we holy warriors have something that we want to protect, something that moniviates us to charge head first at hordes of demons. Something that lifts our hearts from despair, a 'light' that shines in the darkness and leads us down the path to justice and freedom. For you its your friends and Ruby the girl you love." Skullboy turned his head, pieceing together what his master said. "I never thought of it like that. I guess you're right." Skullboy turned to Evan and said "What about you Evan? What is it you like about Emily. Evan said nothing at first, he just sipped his coffe. After a minate or two he said "She's just so different from any girl I've meet. Before I meet you master I was just your average child of nobility, well not so much. My parants wanted me to marry another girl from another household but I would always refuse. I wan't intreasted in the family business I was actually planning to become a holy warrior. And all the girls my parants would introduce to me were boring, they were snooty talked about nothing interesting and at the mere mention of 'rock and roll' and 'demon' they would faint from fright. I never really got along with my parents and that's what casued me to take that job at the radio station where I first meet Emily. When I listnend to Emily's entry I was enthralled, I knew I had to meet this girl and I once I did, I knew I wanted to be with her, and we have been." "You love her because all the young women you've previously meet do not intrest you, you find Emily so atritive because she is so vastly diferant from every other girl you've meet." Said Nick. "She's just so unique, and I love her so much." Evan relpied.
"And you Ragamuffin?" Said Nick. "What is that you love the most about Lenore?" The vampire said nothing, instead he got up and walked to the window and just stared out of it. The other knights just watched him concerned. Ragamuffin just streaed out into the vastness of space with one question on his mind, why do I love Lenore? He loved the blond undead with all of his heart, her smile, her laughter, her beautiful body, her skill in battle, the passion they share, but what was it that he loved about Lenore? He only started to have fellings for her a year before she turned eighteen and since then he loved her for hundreds of years and he still loves her now. But why does he love her? She's spoiled, bratty, immature, clumsy, she's-Ragamuffin slammed his palm on the window with a small amount of his vampirc strength, due to the window being reinforced glass to withstand the vacuum of space it held. Nick stood up and kept his eye on the vampire with the eyes of a concered friend, but also that with the eyes of a holy warrior eyeing a possible enemy, for before Ragamuffin stuck the glass Nick could since darkness building in Ragamuffin's soul. Ragamuffin took several deep breathes fearing for the lives of his friends for he felt the seal on his demonic powers weacking and his old self crawling out from that dark place in his soul. Ragamuffin closed his eyes and kept thinking about Lenore. Her smile, her laughter, her beautiful body, her skill in battle, the passion they share. Soon he felt his old self going back where it belongs and the seal closing. He opened his eyes and looked at his open hand. He said nothing for a moment but then said "She changed me."
"Pardon?" Said Nick Still watching the vampire carefully. "You all know long ago I was no different from any demon. I killed humans all the time, I killed and at the flesh of humans, that's all I ever thought my life was and would be, killing and eating." Ragamuffin turned to Nick and said "If you meet the old me, we probley would have fought." "Maybe." Said Nick sitting back down. But that time I was trapped in that doll I only wanted to escape, thinkin I would kill Lenore when I did. But my rage slowly died down after I got caught up in their antics. Eveuntully I got lose from the doll and I thought I would go back to my old ways but I was worrired about Lenore, she was a demon herself but she knew nothing of her powers or how to fight, I feared she would be a target for more cruel holy warriors or demons because demons hate weacklings so I stayed with her to protect her and teach her. But when she turned eighteen I fell in love with her so I couldn't leave her so I became a redemon I turned agigest my own kind." Ragamuffin walked back to the table saying. "Now look, I'm working with humans to hunt down and kill our kings, something the old me would never would have done." "Sometimes it takes good friends and the ones we love to changes us for the better." Said Nick. "That plus I never really liked the dark lords." Said Ragamuffin. "Well no does, not even their own fallowers." Said Beetlejuice. The men all chuckled at the truth of his words.
Suddenly a voice rang out "Raggy!" Then something moving at high speeds ran acroos the whole eatria and tackled Ragamuffin. The vampire yelled in surprise as he fell to the ground but his swift attacker. The other warriors pered over the table to find Ragamuffin on the ground with Lenore on top of him kissing him very passionately. "Hello Lenore." Said Nick. "Lenore stopped what she was doing and at up and smiled and said "Oh hey master!" "Lenore! What have I told you about tackeling me at 4000 MPH?" Lenore looked down at her love and said "Defiantly don't?" "Then why do you keep doing it?!" "Because it so much fun!" Ragamuffin sighed and said "Immortal brat." Suddanlly Haji stood up up and looked to the entrance of the eatatria and uttered one name "Saya." The door slide open reveling all of the girls "Jess Lenore I know you want to see raggy but maybe some restant would be-"Emily was saying when Haji appeared out of nowhere and pulled Saya into a fierce kiss. When he pulled away he smiled and siad "I've missed you Saya." The blushing queen shook her head and said "It's only been a day Haji." "It felt like an entranny without you Saya." "Haji!" Saya groaned with annoyance. The other girls giggled ant Saya's misfortune. Suddaly Lydia let a yelp as Beetlejucie teleported behind her and picked her off the ground with ease. "Hey Babs! Looks like the party's over." Lydia giggled and said "Yeah sorry about leaving you in the wind Beej." "Don't worry about it babs." Beetlejucie said as he tossed her slight into the air and caught her with Lydia facing him. "I got no problem with my girl hanging out with her friends besides, there's still the after party." Said Beetlejucie wiggleing his eyebrow." "Beej!" said Lydia flushed this time. "Hey Ruby." Said Skullboy sheepishly as he aproched his girlfriend. Ruby turned from her two friends misfousrante and smiled when she saw her love. "Skull!" She yelled and lept at him and wrapped her arms around his neck and placed her cheek aigasnt his. Suprized but always open for his love's affection Skullboy returned the embrace. "I missed you Skull." Me too Ruby." "Hey Creepie." Said Skipper. "Did you have fun?" "Yeah." Said Creepie as she stood on her tippy toes to kiss Skipper. "I learned a lot of things about my friends." "Hey Ev." Said Emliy as she hugged Evan. "Hey Emily." He said. Then to his surpize Emily pulled Evan into a kiss. When she broke it she said "I love you Evan. I'm sorry I don't say it enough." "No it's fine Emily, I wouldn't want you to do something you're not comftabvle with." Emily smiled and said "Well I'm comfortable when its you." Lenore and Ragamuffin had started to walk back to their friends and as they did "Lenore whispered to Ragamuffin "I love you Raggy." "I know Lenore, I love you too." "I'll love you forever."
Nick smiled as he saw the varoues couples interact happily with each other and it got him thinking about his love Ophelia rain the second in command of the knights and a female black panther anthro. Nick thought of all the things he loved about her, her skill in combat, her sence of justice, her lolvy blue eyes and her black coat. But when he thought of Ophelia's coat he loked again at the girls and got think about goth culture. In the techonlgy days humans thought goths were obsessed with death and darkness, but looking at these girls and their happy expressions and they way the love their men showed that that was not true. Goths are people who want to break away from the norm, they wanted to express themselves by being unique. And now today even after near annatation at the hands of demons thousands of years later, there are still those who still share this ideology. They may wear dark clothing and collect thing attributed to darkness but they are still people who live,fight, and love.
