_ *Amu POV*
My head felt heavy… scratch that, my hold body felt heavy. Pain resonated throughout my body. From my feet, where the rats nibbled at them, all the way to my head, where a pounding headache was showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. I could barely lift my eyelids halfway up. My mouth felt dry, as though I had stuck cotton in it. My wrists were unbearably sore, as were my shoulders and legs. My stomach roared with such ferocity that I thought it would turn inside out and eat itself. The air, cold and still, and the damp ground told me I was underground. My cell was completely isolated, not even a slither of light reached under the door. The darkness surrounding me was terrifying. I could swear I saw things move and heard noises all around me. I'd lost track of how long I'd been here… there was absolutely no way to tell. Though it felt like a week. I knew this was not possible, I would probably already be dead. The whole time I've been here I have not been fed once, not even a drop of water has reached my mouth. I no longer think I can fight to live. The chains that hold me to the hard, brick wall will not break no matter how hard I pull. I believe I've dislocated my shoulder, and I know I will have permanent scars around my wrists where the cuffs are. When I was thrown in here I hit my head on the wall. I'm sure I have a concussion and that where the head ache originates from. The guards were all too pleased to have the opportunity to beat me, one of which I'm pretty sure broke my ankle. I haven't slept a wink since I've been here, out of fear for my safety and when I try noises and rats wake me up, and I'm sure it's affecting my sanity. I leaned my head against the wall, trying to organize my thoughts. For the first time in what seemed to be forever I heard the light thud of fast paced foot-steps heading directly towards my door. Hope surged through me and I could feel tears swelling in my eyes. Not wanting to show weakness as the unknown person opened the door I blinked the tears back. A blinding light filled the room, making vulnerable. I blinked as fast as I could trying to see who was visiting me, praying they brought food and water.
"Wahhh…" I tried to say water, but all that came out was a dry rasp that sounded like a cough. Water… please… water, is all I could think. My eyes still slowly adjusting to the new light saw a warped black figure running towards me.
"My God, this stench!" a deep voice I remembered all too well spoke in a disgusted tone, "What the hell were they doing to you!" I felt my arms fall to my side, finally free from their cuffs. I was grabbed by the shoulders and shook, pain webbed down my back and rattled my bones, and a stray tear escaped and ran down my cheek. "Shit… wake up! Come on!" the same deep voice spoke urgently while rattling me like a maraca. I groaned in response, pleading him to stop in my mind. I felt my self being quickly lifted and carried at high speeds. With each step I wasn't the only one getting carried away. My conscience slowly left me and I finally slept in the first time in forever. My only worry was, will I wake up?
*Ikuto POV*
I sat beside her, staring at her peaceful face. Her white skin and pink hair seemed to glitter in the clinic light. The stench from when I had found her had finally been washed away when I brought her up. I shook my head. And thought back to the events from earlier.
"It's already been 4 days, when do you plan to talk to her?" Kukai asked as he shoved another handful of chips in his mouth and made another kill on the war game he was playing. I sat next to him reading.
"I suppose I should go today. Hopefully she'll be ready to come to an agreement with me." I smirked.
"Most definitely. Anyone would be to get out of prison. Especially with only one meal a DAY." He jumped as someone killed him. I rolled my eyes and got up, leaving him to pick up the chips he just spilled. I made my way to the elevator and hit the lobby button. The castle had many areas in it, but the only ones I pay attention to. The castle, where I live, can only be accessed with a special key, even then you have to have a different key for each floor and there are some keys no one but me and my father access. Then there is the town area, outside the giant gates that surround the castle, there is a small town where people come from all around to trade the most expensive, hard to find objects anyone has ever seen and then there is the prison block. The largest prison in the country, built on top of a medieval dungeon. The dungeon is only used for extremely bad people. Like rapist or murders. It's where we prep them for… their demise. As you could imagine, with this place being so popular for tourists, in summer it gets pretty hectic. That's why I wanted the Hinamori residence, it's such a good distance from the castle that it's out of the way of any tourists, it has such a bad reputation that no one would want to go there anyway, it is actually beautiful land, and it's close enough to the castle so that if I'm needed I can just get home as quickly as possible. I made my way through the lobby doors of the prison. The receptionist almost dropped the phone when she saw me, quickly putting the line on hold, she turned to me with a flirtatious smile.
"Why hell Prince Tsukiyomi, to what do I owe the honor of seeing you today?" I almost rolled my eyes at the 'fuck me now' tone she was using.
"Just call Chief Tadase up." I waved my hand, to show her I was not interested in her petty advances. I heard her huff and with a butt hurt voice she replied, "Chief Tadase isn't here, he's gone with the king to France for official business.
"Well then call up the other guy." I said to her in a 'are you that stupid voice'. She did as asked and didn't bother looking at me the rest of the time I was there. I would typically humor the females, be kind and flirt back, but I just wanted to get today over with. A man I recognized as Deputy Daichi was running toward me.
"Good afternoon Prince Ikuto. What has made you grace us with your presence?" he said in a very formal tone. The typical way everyone talked to me. I rolled my eyes and talked while walking towards the elevator.
"I need to know what cell the pink haired girl is in. B4, right?" I asked confirming she was on the first solitary confinement floor. He nodded me a reply before speaking.
"Ah, yes, the pinkette. I believe my men put her in cell S50, very back of the hall way. I don't see what she could've done for such a harsh imprisonment. Only 1 meal a day, no visits allowed. She's so small, doesn't look like she could hurt a fly. Beautiful, too, she could pass as a princess. But I heard she was a Hinamori. That might explain why she's in here. Actually looks a lot like her mother, if I do say so myself. Too bad she was born in that family, probably just as crazy as the rest." He rambled on to how the weathers been so dreadful lately. I stopped and looked at him.
"What do you mean, 'as crazy as the rest'?" I interrupted whatever he was fixing to say about how a football game was going to be ruined.
"Oh, well I went to school with Amu Hinamori, I'm assuming that the girl's mother. She looks just like her, but is much too young to be so. The Hinamori's are known in the town I grew up in for being completely insane. There was a rumor that went around that they killed people for fun and had a lion as a pet. I never really got near her to find out though, everybody completely ignored her existence or picked on her. They were too scared to be her friend, as was I. But one day, to the relief of everyone if I might add, she suddenly disappeared. We never heard from any Hinamori again. Many believed they were witches that needed to leave because everyone was too suspicious, but I heard that had to leave because their parent's died. I guess that's Amu's daughter." I strange feeling tingled in my heart. So this Amu was the girl's mother – I really needed to found out her name – and her parent died, she moves away, has this girl, and dies, too. I knew how this girl felt. All too well. I slowed down as we reached the door. The window on the door allowed me to peak in to the room. When I saw what was inside confusion whirled inside my head.
"Are you sure this is the right cell?" I looked at him.
"Pretty sure… why? Everything alri—." He stopped talking mid-sentence as he stared at the face that was in the cell. "What's he doing here?!" He yelled down the hall way to the guards keeping watch. The guards rushed down, and looked into the window.
"We put him here like you asked- one meal a day no visits." One guard said to Daichi.
"No. I said put the girl in S50, and him in DS250- no food, no visitors." He stood for a minute staring at the guards, looking about ready to explode, then something dawned on him… something that wasn't good. "If he's here then…" he looked at me, but I was already gone. Four days. No food. No water. Completely cold. Completely dark. She was already so small and fragile looking, was it too late? As I pushed pass a man exiting the elevator and hit the D3 button as hard and fast as I could, I wondered why I was worrying so much over a girl who had struck me. If she was dead wouldn't I get the house much easier? None the less I worried. Oh, how I was worried. The elevators wouldn't open fast enough as I hit the right floor. I sprinted at, shivering at the sudden cool air. Bright fixtures lit my path as I ran through the mid-evil styled corridor. I finally came upon the correct cell, in the furthest, coldest part of the floor. I slipped my skeleton key, which unlocked most doors in the castle and prison, and slid it into the heavy deadbolt. The chain and lock felt to the ground and I pushed with all might against the sold brick door. The only thing that was in the room was a small hole that was obviously a chamber pot, and she was chained too close to the wall to be able to reach, which explained the stench coming from her. Rats ran from the light and into the recesses of the chamber pot. "My God, this stench." I shook it off and headed to her seeing her dire state. Feet nibbled on by rats, and a foot bent in a strange position. Blood dried to her forehead, her features were thinner and paler than when she came 4 days ago. Her body swayed as she bordered the edge of consciousness. Unchaining her wrists, which were also bruised and bloody, I picked her up princess style and began running.
*Present*
"What are you gonna do with her?" Kukai asked while staring at his Gameboy.
"I don't know." I sighed looking at her, then staring out the window.
"Well, I actually have a idea." My head whipped up at the voice that boomed through the room without even trying. I swallowed at who it was.
