Sorry guys for this extraordinarily long wait. I kind of slipped into a period of life where sleeping became overrated and projects upon projects piled up. I just finished high school and will be working on this story until it either gets done or I pass on this story to another author with a plot to truly bring this story to fruition. I do plan to finish this but in the event that I believe there is nothing more I could add without ruining the experience for you readers, I will look through all the stories of the followers and pass it on to them via PM.

Now on to the story

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or God of War. If I did Naruto would have more going for him than clone spamming and Kratos would have a better backstory and/or anger coach.

"Yes Zeus. This is how it began. Hermes if you don't mind, can you please show projections of my thoughts to make this easier?"

"Sure?"

A bright orange portal began to form directly underneath each of the gods thrones, slowly growing in size until the floor became something akin to a movie screen.

The wind gently touches his skin; his sword becomes heavy and his heart beat slowly raising to match with shaking of the landscape from the army that is to come. He observes the land around him. Men, enemy soldiers numbering in the hundred of thousands, chanting unknown songs of their homeland to boost their moral. They are easily seen as their ranks stretch as far as the eye can see. The sea and boats from which they arrived upon closely behind. The seagulls are gently singing. There is a silence comparable to that of silence before a storm.

He is the last one standing, The daimyo won't allow any survivors, yet here he stands alone. Homeland put to waste, his family murdered. The first of the opposing army that arrives can sense the bloodlust and power this one man contains.

"His eyes, they're full of rage and darkness. This... This amount of raw emotion should never be able to come from one man alone." a soldier in the immediate front observes.

The first battalion stops, in turn starting a domino effect on the others, thousands halt their advance in confusion. Yet the few close to him know full well what he was... a monster. Fear was easily seen in their eyes. All in the immediate front-line were scared witless when they heard the lone man's bone chilling laugh.

The monster chuckles slowly, slowly building into a booming laugh. "Me against the world? Wouldn't be fair otherwise." He raises his sword... and smiles. His thoughts however, strayed into territory he would have rather not had gone.

Silence was all that could be heard. Yet, In the distance he saw the enemy army moving ever closer to him. Countless rows of heavily armored infantry marched up and to the canyon that he was to defend. Nothing would stop him from fulfilling his duty and go down either in honor or in triumph. They were so close that he could see their faces and hear their breath, but no one ran out of line, all remained in their strict marching order. He drew his sword from its sheath. On the iron blade, the cliff above him reflected for a moment.

He then raised his sword high above his head, and the edge of the steep walls above him came the piercing sound of dozens of horns. The soldiers looked confused. High in the sky, the vultures circled, subjected to forever be in search of the kiss of death. No one could dodge the falling rock masses that now blocked the bottleneck. Slowly, but decisively, he put his sword back into its sheath and turned away from the bloodied rocks. Before his inner eye, he saw his family, his home, his land. He had sworn to protect them. He knew that he had not won the war, but this battle he chose for himself.

In the distance a noise as loud as thunder could be heard, however it was not from lightning but the screaming and chanting of a great mass of voices. Soon the blank mist that shrouded the landscape was not all that could be seen, as strange shapes started to appear on the horizon. Before he knew it, a foul army of mutated creatures was rampaging towards him. With nothing but his sword in hand, he walked through the shallow water to confront them in the middle of a river within the canyon.

The man shouted to the heavens "Today I fight!" He ran swiftly toward the remaining soldiers that did not get crushed by the boulders. He started chanting a mantra to himself as he neared. The soldiers could barely make out what he was saying among the chaos of their ranks.

"Feel the powers of chaos thrive as you witness my ascension. Here I stand where my comrades have fallen. Here I stand where sanity has no meaning, where death is the fate of all! I will face thee until the end of time itself! Let it be not said that we didn't stand up and fight. Let it not said we ran and hid! My comrades stand by me in my darkest hour; My friends and family reside in my heart, and I will not run! So now my foes be ready because I am not going to hell alone! I have lost loved ones, friends, family, EVERYTHING but I shall not kneel before this army of men. NO! I raise my blade with the rage of an entire army, and I will fight for this land! Show me what resides in your heart! Now show me your resolve!" The man ran through the opposing army, dismembering any unlucky enough to fall beneath his blade.

His battle cry was heard by the entire enemy army as they clashed. The sun glistened off his blade revealing the hidden words engraved into the steel, the blood dripping from the words "Men fear but Monsters cower."

Those words rang throughout the very soul of every being watching this battle. Most did not have the sight needed to see the words on the blade until it was too late. As the ranks slowly fell, a pale figure could be seen hovering behind the man. The figure was slowly gaining a tangible body by absorbing the blood of those who had fallen.

"Soon. Soon I shall return to this plane and complete this final act called life. Kratos, You will see that hope is only for the weak."
