Hi everybody, I know that the last time I added a new chapter, it was over a year ago! My computer had broke and honestly there was so much going on in my life, I didn't think i would ever return to finish this fanfic! BUT I always wanted to finish this, and the story itself isn't even half way done! Also, I reread my earlier chapters and noticed a few grammar mistakes so I'll definitely go and fix them in the future! So please don't be upset with me!
I hope that some of the people who had read this when it first came out will continue to read it to the end! To anybody reading this for the first time, I hope you enjoy this new chapter! Thank You!
Luka was beyond pissed now.
After Naruto and Sasuke had left her house, Miroku seemed even more annoyed with her. The next day while they were getting ready for work, he absolutely insisted on her wearing this low cut red Chinese dress he had bought her for their 1 year anniversary. It was a long blood red color with a beautiful silver dragon going up the side. The only reason she didn't like wearing it was that it had a large upside down triangle cut in the front that showed off a large part of her cleavage. Although she didn't have large breasts, she did fill out the dress quite nicely, enough to make her extremely uncomfortable. The dress also had slits on the sides that were too high for her liking. Miroku had insisted on her wearing it, because he liked the way she looked in it.
So That day at Sato's Bakery it consisted of her being careful of not moving fast enough to flash their customers or give them a great view of her breasts. But of course Miroku took it a step farther by occasionally slapping her butt and grabbing her and pulling her in for sloppy french kisses which she found highly inappropriate, even IF it was a slow day.
That was yesterday. Now she was cleaning up the counters in the store since it was slow. She didn't see or sense either of her ex teammates yesterday, But she KNEW they had to be around somewhere watching her. She wondered if they actually DID skip town, which would give her a great advantage to pack up and go, but she hadn't thought about what direction she would head for. maybe I should just live in the woods for the time being, then find another village, maybe one with a higher population to help keep me hidden? She sighed. She had failed to keep hidden, and that really pissed her off! well at least I can DUMP my stupid fiance!
That made her smile. She knew Miroku was the kind of macho man who only wanted his women to be cooking, cleaning, or looking good for him to look at. And although Luka did think a good wife should be able to do all those things, she was worth so much more! And the fact that she enjoyed studying, especially medical books, made her feel like she was betraying herself by acting stupid JUST so he would feel like the superior being! HA! If only he know I could snap him in half with just a flick of my wrist!
She stopped what she was doing, currently she was cleaning the tables inside the store which was currently empty. Today is the last day of the Rainbow Festival, so a lot of the villagers were getting ready for the party that they were gonna hold in the middle of the town plaza. A lot of vendors will get together and but up booths where they can show off colorful creations, food and games for the children to play. Although the front of the store was dead, in the back Miroku was busy baking all kinds of colorful treats for the party and other customers who were having personal parties of their own.
Damn! my thoughts are getting violent! Maybe i can sneak out soon and let out some steam. Luka thought. she sighed and pulled out a chair and sat down while looking outside, bored. Civilian life was definitely NOT for her. She began planning what course of action she would take when she would skip town when suddenly she heard her BELOVED call for her. She got up and walked to the kitchen.
Miroku had all his ovens going full blast while all his counters where covered with baked goods still cooling, half finished decorated ones, and an area with finished products. He was darting back and forth, concentrated on the task at hand. She had to give it to him, he was a hard worker!
She had offered countless times to help out, but he refused. He preferred doing things himself. He was very detail oriented with the goods he would send out.
Miroku looked up, and saw her standing here. He Smiled and went to the counter where there were already goods packed in pink cardboard boxes, then picked one up and handed it to her. "Hey babe, can you run out to the hotel and deliver these cookies? They called with a emergency order and they need them pronto!"
Luka smiled sweetly. "of course sweety! Anything for you." She then leaned intending to give him a quick peck on the check when he suddenly reached out and grabbed her head to crash his lips into hers. Luka struggled to breath while he french kissed her deeply while his hands roamed her body, Then he slid his hands down and Squeezed her ass. She gaspd into his mouth but then he pulled away a few inches, with a string of saliva still connecting their mouths.
" Have I told you how HOT you look today, luka?" She looked up at him, dumbfounded by the surprise attack on her body. "Uh, no, I don't think you did." He smiled at her, "well, you do." he grabbed her by the shoulders and walked her out of the bakery.
"Better hurry up! or else you won't get a tip!" He winked at her and walked back in.
Luka stood in the street and looked down at her current outfit. Courtesy of Miroku, She wore a white simple sundress and a matching white headband with strappy sandals. This Dress she actually did like for it ended just above her knees. Only problem was The top was styled like a halter top with a deep v line, again showing off her cleavage. She sighed noticing there was white powder where Miroku's hands had groped her. Since the dress was white it wasn't very noticeable but still she dusted herself off, especially around the butt area and continued down the road towards the only hotel in town.
When she got there she went straight to the receptionist who was a young lady around her age. She thanked her eagerly and handed her a tip. Luka turned around and was about to head out when she heard a few maids speaking.
"-Can't believe they left! I purposely Tried to look good today too!"
"you're telling me! Mika said that they had checked out 2 days ago, late at night!"
"God, the ONE time I don't work the night shift and the hottest guys to hit the village leave!"
"I know right!? Damn the blonde was smokin'!"
"Did you see the black haired guy though? Damn! He had a pair of buns that could crack a walnut! I wan-"
Luka turned away when she realized the conversation was taking a turn that she didn't care much for.
So they left the village already? I wish I would've known! She bit her lip. They probably went to inform Tsunaide so they could bring her back. I gotta leave. NOW.
She turned and went back to the main desk and used their phone to call The Bakery. She waited patiently While the phone rang until she heard Miroku Pick up and said the usual greeting for calls to the store.
"Hello! Thank you for calling Sato's Bakery, How may I help you?"
"Hi Honey, It's me."
"Ah, Luka! What's up? Why aren't you back yet?"
"I'm sorry sweety, But I'm feeling kinda faint. Is it okay if I head home and rest for a bit?" Luka said in a weak voice.
"Aw! I'm sorry sugar! I shouldn't have made you walk out in this heat! Sure, go ahead! I'll check in on you once i finish with all these sweets."
Plenty of time to leave, Luka thought. "Thank you honey! It's a wonder you are able to work SO hard!"
Miroku laughed sheepishly, "well you know how strong I am, maybe if you feel better you can give me a massage to reward a hard day's work!"
Luka laughed sweetly, "Of course darling."
As soon as she hung up, she proceeded to walk out of the hotel calmly until she saw no one was around. Then, She darted out onto the rooftops hopping from roof to roof to reach her house at lightning speed. She was careful to not be seen, or to let her dress ride up too high with the wind whipping around her wildly as she flew.
When she arrived the first thing she did was pull up the special floor board that contained her secret stash of ninja clothes and necessities. She quickly changed into her black ninja shorts and black mesh shirt that she usually wore under her old red shirt. Her old outfit was practically destroyed during her last mission, So she was left only with the clothes that she wore for intensive training. Better than wearing a sundress She thought logically as she pulled her long hair into a ponytail. She left the long pieces that usually frame her face in front and began slipping on her black boots. She then tied her tool bag to her thigh then pulled out the letter she wrote in advance for Miroku.
It was a simple letter explaining that she was not the one for him and decided to leave town to end their relationship. She had tried her best to let him down easily and to stroke his ego by saying he was just to wonderful for a dull girl her to ease the blow. Luka chuckled, she was RELIEVED that she didn't have to deal with him anymore.
Luka then lifted her left hand and slipped off her engagement ring. She grimaced as she recalled how he proposed. He had proposed a few months ago by getting all the elementary kids to sing her a cheesy love song then proceeded to give her a big colorful cake with the ring on top. The act itself was cute but it was definitely not her style. Even the ring was wrong! It had a rose gold band with a pink diamond in the middle in the shape of a heart. It was beautiful, but again, not who she was.
it never was me, She thought sadly, as she tied on a cat anbu mask.
She left the letter and ring on the coffee table and left the house she once called home.
Luka leaped from branch to branch towards the mountains, going as fast she could go. She stopped for a second to throw away her contacts, since they were impairing her vision, they continued on. She planned to hide out for a few days to map out her next move while remaining in a area difficult for normal people to reach. She vaguely remembered of some caves near the top of the mountain and fully intended to get there before sundown and set up some traps and a illusion jutsu.
There is also a storm coming, I need to secure some food and water, she thought.
Suddenly, she felt two presences quickly near her. They were coming straight for her with great speed, so there was no way to avoid them or to hide. So she jumped down from the tree and into a grassy field intending to take on her attackers head on. She automatically dropped into her fighting stance as she felt they were already there.
Ha! They have no idea who they're dealing with!
Luka's eyes widened as she saw Naruto and Sasuke slowly appear from the trees. Son of a bitch, they tricked me! And I totally feel for it!
Naruto calmly walked towards her with his hand out. "Sakura... it IS you, isn't it? Why are you running away from us!?"
Luka threw some shuriken towards naruto aiming for his stomache, Naruto gave her a hurt look and dodged by jumping back.
Sasuke retaliated by charging at her with a fist, aiming to knock her unconscious. She dipped below him and jabbed him in the side. Fully intending to hurt him. Sasuke grunted and stepped back.
"Sakura, there is no use running, Naruto and I are strong enough to take you on and drag you home, so give up."
Luka jumped back a few yards and looked at them both. She knew they were dead serious, but she believed she could distract them long enough to get away. The wind got wild as the storm grew nearer, making her hair dance around her mask as she tried to make a plan.
"I am not Sakura. YOU give up. I am not the comrade you are hoping to find."
"Shut the fuck up Sakura! Do you know what you are doing to us!? To Naruto!?" Sasuke motioned towards naruto who looked at Luka with deep sad blue eyes. Luka twitched. She felt pity. And guilty of causing Naruto such pain.
I can't give in. I have to do this.
"Neither of you mean anything to me. Please leave or else I must use force."
Luka gasped.
As soon as the word force left her mouth, Sasuke was gone. She felt her head get lighter and her mask completely shattered.
Standing behind her was Sasuke with his back to her. A kunai in one hand and a fist full of pink hair in the other.
Shocked, Luka reached up and felt more than half her hair was gone. Leaving her with a uneven bob with hair bairly touching her shoulder.
"I remember once, you cut your hair to protect us. After that you struggled to get stronger for yourself and for the team. Obviously you are not the comrade we know."
Sasuke turned around and looked at her with a judgmental glare as he lifted his fist full of long pink hair.
Luka opened her mouth to speak when suddenly she felt danger.
Fire arrows rained down on all of them, coming out of the sky. Each managed to dodge with minimal injuries but were shocked at the sudden attack.
"What the hell Sasuke!? Why don't you put some BBQ sauce on us while you fry us!?" Naruto screamed.
"It wasn't me."
Suddenly, there was maniacal laughing. Emerging from bushes stood two men in ninja attire. One, Sasuke and Naruto recognized as the ninja they encountered at the beginning of the trip. The other-
"Miroku?" Luka breathed.
"Hey Sakura." He giggled.
