The Central 46 had separated Nel and Ichigo, only for 15 minutes to test Neurological, Psychological, and in general the conditions of both Neliel and Ichigo. These tests were to ensure that both were safe, this sort of thing had never happened before, so no one knew exactly what to expect. Tests were very brief, since this was Ichigo Kurosaki who brought her in, plus she had her protection of Ichigo back with Nnoitra on document, also decreasing the worry of her infiltrating the World of the Living and harming humans. Both the Substitute Shinigami and former Tres Espada passed every test with flying colors, neither one showing any signs of being a threat.
Nel, who always preferred to make allies over enemies, had she only taken the tests and not socialize with the Shinigami testing her, they would have only been separated a short 10 minutes. When Neliel finally came back from testing, the proctors and her were finishing their conversation, which dramatically gave her more evidence she was stable and of no threat unless there was a need for action, which was enough for the Central 46 to declare her an ally of the Soul Society.

Uhara had planned on this sort of occasion ever since he heard about Neliel's protective actions of Ichigo against Nnoitra in Hueco Mundo. He knew that somewhere within both of them, they had hidden romantic feelings for each other. About three months ago, his heart was replaced with Yoruichi's, as they and become a very strong couple. And all it required to force himself to research and develop a gigai for specifically for Neliel was him falling for Yoruichi. Nel and Ichigo had traveled through the Senkaimon to his shop, where Uhara had already prepared the gigai for her to purchase. Nel was anticipating a very overpriced sale, as though this was a unique gigai, but to her surprise, his offer for the gigai was much more affordable than she not only accepted his offer with gratitude, but also one of her famous bone-crushing embraces, exclaiming "Thank you so much, this means more than you can imagine to me!".
Nel had left Ichigo to get into her new gigai and adapt to it, which took a half hour. During that time, Ichigo and Kiskue had discussed their relationships, and who else would probably be a couple next, both simultaneously mentioning Rukia and Renji. Kiskue offered Ichigo a well-deserved cup of coffee, and knowing that Kiskue knew he liked his coffee black, he joked around, asking for the 13 sugar cubes like his friend, Renji. After adjusting to the Gigai and clothes from this world, Nel strode out to where Ichigo and Kiskue were waiting in hopes that Nel's Gigai would work well, which for being the first gigai for any sort of arrancar, worked tremendously well.
Blood was all over Uhara's shop as Ichigo and Uhara both gazed at Nel in her gigai, causing massive nosebleeds from the both from her stunning appearance. Her mask was gone, along with the trademark pink streak that raced across her face, but her other features seemed to be highlighted, including her very ample chest and beautiful teal hair. Nel was a bit worried about the blood rushing from the noses of the two males, but was reassured that the only cause of the nosebleeds were her radiant looks. Nel and Ichigo departed Kiskue's shop with her, to find that they had returned on an unusually cold summer night; though the chill felt nice to them as they walked hand-in-hand down the streets of Ichigo's hometown.
He had taken a detour to that place along the river that Ichigo came to whenever he needed to escape, just get away from reality and relax for just a little while. "Itsygo," Nel had started as she looked into his eyes, and saw his feelings of despondence, "why did you take me to this place? Is it special to you?". He took a calming sigh of relief, and explained to Nel what this place was, and why he brought her to this seemingly regular location. "This place... is where my mother was killed by a hollow, and I come here whenever I need to get away from the stress of everything, just for a little while. It somehow relieves me of my stress, and calms me.". She took his arm into her own arms, and saw his Mark glowing ever-so faintly, and closed her eyes. "I brought you here to let you know, if we are ever separated, find this place. I'll come, I promise."
"Itsygo... I love you. This means a lot to me." Nel gazed into her love's eyes, ever so softly, and placed a soft, romantic kiss on his lips, which felt perfect in the moment. Ichigo kissed back and wrapped his arms around her soft body, wishing to never have this feeling of serenity ever end. He finally felt his heart just release all the worries of being alone, no one staying by his side no matter what event happened. She lost all her fears of being seen as a harmful, evil being, and that at least one person knew that what she really wanted was just love, like she had with her Itsygo. Just for during that warm kiss and a little after, they knew what serenity really felt like.
