The warm sun fell on her face, coaxing her out of her slumber, but Morgan squeezed her eyes shut and rolled away from the light. She pulled her soft blankets more tightly around her and wished to return to her peaceful dreams.
When she was unable to go back to sleep she sighed and forced herself to climb out of bed. If she couldn't go back to sleep, she may as well get started on her day.
Morgan washed and dressed herself, choosing a soft, pale blue robe that floated around her body pleasingly. Picking up a carved bone comb, she set to work combing out her long, dark tresses. Normally, she left it to flow down her back, but today she decided to twist it back into long plaits.
Merlin was coming to discuss their options today. Morgan strongly suspected that the two children, Jack and Annie, might be the solution to their problem, but she wasn't certain how to convince Merlin (let alone Arthur) to let two ordinary children from another world even attempt it. She was hopeful enough that she had left the treehouse for the children to visit alone for a week. They would not be able to travel using any of the books, but she suspected that being able to read and remember their grand adventures would boost their confidence. That would serve them well if they were called on to help save Camelot, as she hoped they would be.
Finally satisfied with her hair, Morgan decided to get some breakfast. It would be some time before Merlin arrived, so she picked up a book she had been reading the night before and took it with her to read over her meal. Reading was interesting and would keep her from worrying.
