Chapter 6: Sister

"This is your fault!" Fury built in Arion's body. When she woke that morning. She could smell it. Smell the evil in the air. It burned her to core, marred her scaly flesh, ate away at her life force.

"Huh-?" Sol questioned. Her face so innocent, though it hid horrible intent.

"No one remembers me!" Arion's rage was flaring. After a whole night of trying to tame this feeling, it just exploded.

"I'm having a hard time remembering you also."

"No you're not!" That damned witch. "Don't lie to me! Don't you dare lie to me!"

Arion felt a forceful push that caused her to release Sol. "Hey get off her!" An all too familiar voice screamed harshly at her. The same voice that would laugh with her, cherish and love her. Her favorite voice. Her favorite voice that was now put against her because of some witch and her need to steal happiness.

"Gray-" Arion breathed out.

He was protecting her. He was protecting her! Protecting her like a prized gem that could break at any moment. "Gray, baby she-" Sol faked a cry into Gray's chest. Just then Arion saw it. Sol's violet eyes glazed over yellow. In that instant, she saw the same on Gray, black slits crossing the center.

"Dragon...?" she gasped.

"What's your problem?!" Gray pointed an accusing finger Arion's way, arm wrapped around Sol.

"Do you know what she did?" She pleaded.

"No and I don't care."

"Gray!"

"Get outta here!" Gray yelled.

"Gray..."

"I don't want to see you around her ever again!" He had never yelled at her this way. Occasionally for being stubborn or a smartass but never this harshly. Arion backed away slowly, eyeing Sol before she broke into a swift run.

It all happened in a blur. So fast that even she, with dragon speed, could not keep up. There was a yellow streak tailing her closely as she ran down the currently. Before she could react, Arion's back was slammed against a tree. The streak disappeared, revealing Sol, that evil girl who stole her life. A set of fingers were pointed directly into Arion's neck, lightning surging. "Who the hell are you?" Arion strained out, trying to avoid the bolts at her neck.

"You know who I am." The cocky voice said. "You've always known."

"I do but I want to see your true form, Sol." Arion wasn't stupid and she knew that neither was Sol. Sol would never just show her true form. Arion would have to earn it.

"Your Majesty." Sol says. She made a pondering face. "Am I bowing correctly? I've been told that bowing generally involves... What's the word?"

"What do you want from me?"

"So rude! I'm trying to think here!"

"Respect..."

"Yes that!"

"I never said to bow to me."

"Yes and that is the problem. You have no backbone and yet you were just handed the crown."

"It's in my blood. I never wanted it."

"WELL IT'S IN MY BLOOD TOO." She shouted. Quieter now, she admits, "Acnologia was my father."

"He...was your father...but..?" Arion was speechless. She had never had a sister before. Her mother was all she had in the family department. Unless, of course, you count her adoptive aunt and uncles from the Tribunal.

"Nice to meet ya sis." Sol says with a sarcastic type of wave. "Yeah Acnologia... He was my father and even if he did leave us for your mother...he was still my father. And now he's dead..."

"But, why did you-"

"Take away the memories of all of your friends?" Sol finished. "I wanted you to suffer."

"Suffer for what? Tell me, Sol." Arion offers Sol her hand. "We can work this out."

"My reasons are mine alone. You wouldn't understand." And then she just disappeared, leaving Arion to wonder about the true intentions of this new enemy.

"What the hell was that?"

"Hey are you the master of this guild?" Arion asked the short grey haired man. She obviously knew that he was but, for appearances sake, had to ask him.

"Why yes. I'm Makarov Dreyar. Were you looking to join?" he asked in return, a cheeky grin spreading across his wrinkly face.

"I guess I am." She sighed. She held out her hand to him. "Arion Silver."

The older man, Makarov shook her hand firmly. "Silver, huh?" Arion nods. "Sounds...familiar. Regardless, what's your magic?"

"I'm a water dragon...s-slayer... I'm a dragon slayer."

"Perfect! That makes five of them." Makarov jumps up from the bars ledge enthusiastically as he starts to shout for someone. "Mira!"

Mirajane Strauss. Oldest of the Strauss siblings and one of Arion's dearest friends. "Where did you want your guild mark?" She could remember this very question being asked to her before, with a voice that honestly had no idea who she was. This voice was fake. Unreal. Lies. This voice once belonged someone I could laugh with.

She knew exactly where she wanted it. Having previously removed her guildmark herself, Arion spoke. "On my..." She paused, "...Neck, in turquoise." And from that moment on Arion was starting over completely. This time she was alone and heartbroken. Thats not much different than before, now is it? Well, if history was going to repeat itself...

"It's her!"

"Gray what are you talking about?"

"She attacked Sol on the street!" She had only seen Gray this angry once and that was for her own sake. He had never been this angry at her.

"Hey, wait Gray!" Natsu shot up from his seat, sensing the immense amount of tension in the room. "She's just..." He looked back at Arion, who he was currently shielding, her face terrified. He could see that her body trembled under Gray's cold gaze. "...scared..."

"Scared my ass! If she was so scared, she wouldn't have just walked into my house!" Gray shouts. You really don't remember me? Really?

"She came to your house too?" Lucy stood up, joining the conversation. Lu?

"She came to mine." Lisanna said, causing Mira and Elfman both to look up. Mira? Elf? Sanna? You too?

"Mine too" Cana and Wendy both said in unison. Cana... Wendy... You guys really dont recognize me right now?

"Somethin's fishy" Gajeel. Gajeel, too. Gajeel my brother. Gajeel my occasional punching bag. Gajeel, you know my scent! Listen to your damn nose!

All of them should have felt some sort of familiar feeling but it never came. They all just stood around confused, judging eyes staring daggers at the dragon. She couldnt take it. Arion started to take off towards the door when someone called her.

"Arion! Wait! Come back!" Natsu yelled following after her. He gripped her shoulder to get her to stop.

Smacking his hand away, she turns around, revealing a patch of turquoise scales lightly forming against her brown skin. "Leave me alone. Please..." He could hear it in her voice. The despair, that is.

"That's not the way we do things here. We except everyone." Makarov shouted angrily at his children. "Gray. Go find her and apologize."

"But she-" he began his protest.

"Gramps, I think I should-" Natsu protested only to be silenced by Makarov.

"No. Gray. Go and apologize."

"Yes Master."

"I'm an idiot!" she had ran to the outskirts of Magnolia, seating herself at a riverbank. "I knew this wouldn't work!" She stared at her reflection in the pool of water. Her eyes were so sad. It looked like their color died with her friends' memories of her. A look of self pity was unbefitting of her but, all she did was let her anger set.

Arion splashed the water, hoping that she could rid herself of her forgotten face. "Then you indeed are an idiot if you think it's your fault." a condescending voice came from the pool. It was the voice of an older woman. Smooth and crisp, downright noble.

She could recognize that voice anywhere. "Mother?" The woman's face appeared in the pool behind the dragon girl. Her vibrant eyes shown just as bright as the day she died.

"Dear. You haven't any reason to cry. You did nothing but, live happily. You found friends, family and love. That's all I ever wanted for you."

"They don't remember me though! What am I to do with a family and some friends who don't remember me? Let alone, like me!"

"Once when I was young, I faced similar problems. I never told you this but, once I was a lost princess. I was a commoner for the first 12 years of my life. I dealt with ruffians, thugs, illness. I even fell in love.

He was a handsome man, your father that is. He protected me when I couldnt protect myself. When my powers as queen arose from the depths of my soul, I couldn't contain my power.

All of the friends i had made had left me, not wanting to be around someone that was constantly followed by those seeking my power. It was on that day, July the twelfth in the year X375, that the queen of that time, Cecilia Madeline Cornelia May Silver came to me personally. I could see in her emerald eyes...something familiar...something that I desperately needed. That is when she told me, 'Ue, I have greatly missed you.' I was confused. I had never been close to the queen nor had I known her personal but somehow I brought myself to believe and accept her as what she was. My mother.

She explained everything that happened. When the frost dragons attacked, she was leading on the front lines, fighting the queen of the enemy, Luna. Like our kingdom was, every other state had a leader who could control multiple types of magics. We are water, fire, earth and air. The frost dragons of Yothifer are frost, lightning and spirit. Rudinol has metals, fire and poison. Of course the Golden kingdom, Cecily is the mother of these places which is how we have base elements and the state leader have only three-"

"Wait!"

"What is it?" Her mother asked curiously.

"If the frost dragons control, spirit..." Arion looked at her mother intensely. "Mother! Does that make Sol a-?"

"I don't know." she said flatly.

"But how can I deal with this?"

"I'm sure you'll figure something out."

"Mom. I really need you right now."

"Well I hope that you can make do with me."

"Griff-!"

"Stand up. At least pretend to be happy to see me. Even if I am a hallucination, pretend."

"Have you ever heard of any of the other state leaders having children?"

"I can't say that I have."

"W-What about Acnologia? Other than me does he have-?" Arion was silenced by Griffin's ghostly lips on her own.

"Ahh!" He sighed in absolute satisfaction. "I have always wanted to do that!"

"You're my imagination you haven't always wanted anything."

"Then maybe you have always wanted me to do that..." Griffin smirks. They were married, its not like they never kissed. it's just that Arion was so pouty for the duration of their marriage. "I wish I could give you all the knowledge that death has granted me however, the afterlife doesn't come with a textbook."

"Well, what do you already know?"

"You're asking about frost dragons, correct?" She nods. "The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Scret."

"Scret?"

"Yes. The frost dragon, Scret, lives in the highest peaks of the Western Yothifirian mountain know as, Herwin."

"Scret...Herwin... Got it." The two sat in comfortable silence for a whole. Even if it was her imagination, she was definitely happy to see her loved ones again. "Griffin! I'm scared!"

"You? Scared? Arion of the Sea? The Scaled Ocean of Cecily? I can not believe for a moment that you would be scared of anything, my dear." he pulled her into his embrace. Griffin rubbed small circles down her spine in an attempt to comfort her sobbing body.

"What if they never remember me?" She asked through sobs only to realize that the illusion had vanished. "Griffin? Griffin! Griff-" She panicked. "Dammit! Damn! Damn! Damn!" she cursed. never before had she known this much grief. When her mother died, she had Griffin. When Griffin died, she had Gray. What now? She had no one. There was absolutely no one to tell her it would be alright. No one to let her know that they would be there. She was terrified.

"We believe in you." Both Griffin and her mother said to her, each laying a hand on either of her shoulders.

She struck the illusions. "Believing isn't- it isn't enough! I need help!" A soft roar escaped her lips. She couldn't take this. She saw a sharp rock on the ground. "I need change." She took a fist full of her waist length hair and just...chopped it off, picking up its remains to lay them in the river and leaving it to slightly pass her shoulders. "I'll start over. I can do it. I can-"

"My, my, my." Yet another familiar voice. A sinister voice. Her breathing briefly stopped at the sound.

"Acnologia!"

"It does my heart good to see you struggle, princess." he sat against a tree looking as he looked when he was married to Arion's mother. Short black hair, dark brown eyes, evil smirk.

"Get away from me! You-you monster!"

"Calm down. I'm just your imagination." She began trembling as he stalked over to her. "Sweet, Arion. You can't even conquer your fear of the me and I'm dead. How do you hope to defeat lost memories?"

I can-"

"Damn, I really liked your hair." The Apocalyptic dragon snickers, now in his more recognizable form. The princess digs her talons into a nearby tree and chucks it at the black dragon.

"Shut the hell up! I- I don't know how! I don't know... But, I'm gonna figure it out. I've gotta..." She started to lose consciousness but, not long after letting her magic run wild for a good half hour.

"Erza, she's trapped!" Lucy shouts.

"Do you have any spirits that can help get her out?"

"Maybe..." Lucy reaches into the pouch on her hip that held her celestial spirit key. She pulls off one of her ten golden keys, Taurus. "Maybe Taurus? He could cut the ends so we could lift it."

"Do it."

"Okay, here it goes. GATE OF THE GOLDEN BULL! OPEN!"

"MOOOO! And how are you and your AMAZING body doing to day Lucy? Moo."

"Just fine. Now, cut a couple feet of that tree but don't harm the girl under it. Kay?"

"Hmm...Seems like deja vu... But, anything for you Lucy. Moo." The cow spirit quickly cut the ends off of the large tree and left with a loud moo and another 2 or 3 comments about Lucy's body.

"On the count of three."

"1. 2. 3!" The tree then lifted off of the dragon girl's body."

"Wake up!" Arion could feel her shoulders being shaken by someone. "Arion! Wake up!" When she opened her eyes, she saw Gray hovering over her.

"Gray... Gray!" Arion was so happy to wake up from the dream she was having. She shot up from the ground and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him as tightly as she could without hurting him. When she finally realized he was holding her, she understood she was still living in Sol's devilish game. "Oh I'm- I'm sorry..."

"Let's go."

"Master! You're back!" The guild shouted loudly.

"Yes, yes. Now where is my magazine?"

"Here you are Master Sol." A little blonde girl walked over to Sol. She was a strawberry blonde, hair pulled up into a neat bun, with dark, nearly black, green eyes that were protected by a pair of black, rectangular glasses. She wore a long sleeved, light blue shirt with a navy pleated shirt. This girl had a pair of white knee high socks that fell into her little black pair of Mary Jane shoes.

"This'll be perfect, Bailey Rose!" Sol exclaimed.

"What will Master Sol."

"The combining of Dragon's Maw and Fairy Tail. Taking over that train wreck will put our little princess to the edge. Well farther than she already is. Not to mention that I saw her today and she literally freaked out. Then I told her about how daddy dearest abandoned me and she fell for it. Priceless!" Sol was the most excited than she had ever been before. "Anyway we will form a super guild! It'll be called Dragon's Tail or Fairy Maw! Perfect!"

"Fairies don't have maws, master." Corrected Bailey in a monotone voice.

"Shut up, Bailey Rose!"

"Yes Master Sol."

Arion sat, surrounded by her "friends", who couldn't help but to question her. "What were you doing in that forest?" Erza asks. Her intense purple eyes were baring down into Dragon's heart. Never before had she felt Erza's distrusting glare on her own being. It was always the enemy never the ally.

"I was throwing a party!" Arion says sarcastically. "What the hell do you think I was doing? I was fighting the ghost of my dead father!"

"Ghost? Tell me. How does one fight a ghost?" Erza looked at her quizzically.

"Can't exactly answer that. Only done it once and that was more than an hour ago."

Just as Erza had been about to respond someone shouted, "She's here!"

"We will continue this later, Silver."

"I will definitely be looking forward to this it, Scarlet."

"Bailey Rose!" the brunette called.

"Yes Master Sol?"

"Take it all in. Soon this will be ours! I want bigger everything!" Sol had proclaimed. her eyes travelled around until they land on a pair of emerald ones. She smirked and then said, "Oh! Gray, baby, I missed you!"

"I missed you too, princess." that traitor said, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her, being all lovey-dovey. That bastard.

"Where's Makarov?" Sol asked after another kiss on the cheek.

"Office."

"Thanks." Damn that Sol. She had everyone under her control and she just enjoyed every minute of it. But not Arion. She would find a way to win. "Come now Bailey Rose!" Sol climbed the stairs followed by a girl Arion assumed as her assistant.

"I can't believe him..."
