Macadamia, one month later...
Matthew woke up in a cold sweat and looked to his left. There laid Lotta, his queen and wife. Hard to believe that after the birth of Will and Janet Bruinwald, Lotta had agreed to marry him. Matthew threw a glance over toward the window and thought that he saw someone looking at before slipping away. Being ever so careful, the weasel moved his covers away and slipped on his titanium leg.
"Will this ever stop," he whispered. "I can't let ,y fear get the better of me."
As he got up, Lotta awoke to the sudden shift in weight on the bed. "Matthew?" she asked with yawn. "What's the matter?"
Matthew moved toward the window and looked out at the surrounding area. There was nobody at the window, just a bird that flew away. "Nothing," he sighed, then sat back down on the bed. Lotta could clearly tell that her husband was having nightmares again.
"Matthew, you got to remember that you're free from the life of a pirate," the vixen queen explained. "You are free to be Matthew Dogsdon, because Mad Dog is gone."
"Gone?" Matthew asked, then looked at Lotta. "Lotta, I am Mad Dog. I always will be and I'll carry those sins always. Nothing I do can make it right."
"But I fell in love with Matthew, who is nothing like Mad Dog."
"But what if I end up running away like my father?"
Lotta smiled. "You won't," she said, and before Matthew knew what happened, he found himself lying on his back. Lotta got up to her knees and pulled off the nightgown, and revealed she had nothing underneath it.
Matthew was amazed at the sight of her naked form. Her luscious curves, firm breasts, and beautiful, silky smooth fur were all a wonderful image to behold. When his eyes looked downward, he saw she was more than ready for him. "You're absolutely beautiful Lotta." He smiled in approval.
"Then take me," she smiled and leaned down to kiss him. The two of them made love and then slipped off into a deep sleep.
"Wah!"
The wailing cry was far too familiar and pierced the home of the Bruinwalds easily. Both exhausted parents jolted awake and groaned in unison. It was Janet again no doubt. She was a healthy, cub but a very demanding one as only a month old could be. Her parents were totally sleep deprived and exhausted. Add their jobs to the mix and they were barely functioning above the level of zombies. They sometimes couldn't even get up to turn the lights off in their home.
But for some reason, Will never was that demanding. In fact he took more after his father, being a lazy baby who never fussed unless he was either hungry or wanted to be changed.
"Baloo..." Rebecca groaned tiredly, poking her husband in the ribs. Baloo had already gone back to sleep. "WAKE UP!" she shouted, then slapped him over the head.
He shot his head up and looked around. "What? Are the kids alright?"
She said nothing, but pointed to the crib where Janet was crying her eyes out.
"Oh...that's right...I'll get her..." He slurred sleepily, shoving his bedding off and sat up with frown. For a brief moment Baloo just sat there and began to drift off again when a particularly loud screech jerked his head up. Groaning he finally got up and chuffed his feet on the floor toward his daughter's crib.
"Shh...shh...Papa Bear is here, sweetie." He cooed to her reaching down to pick her up. He pressed her against his chest and rubbed her back to soothe her as he took her to the changing table. Baloo didn't put her down right away since she was still too upset. Looking over at his son's crib, Will sat looking at his father and sister. He was smiling and giggling, thinking it was funny to see Janet crying like she was.
Tenderly and continuing to coo at her, Baloo quickly and efficiently changed her diaper. She fussed because she was really hungry, but before she could start to cry again he was done and picking her up once more.
Baloo shuffled back to the bed where Rebecca still lay. As he held his daughter, Rebecca unbuttoned her pajama top and exposed her breasts. She had quit wearing bras when the babies were born. Baloo was then at her side and gently laid Janet against her mother near the nipple. The baby cub latched on immediately and began sucking, her tiny hands needling her mother's breast.
Rebecca sighed and closed her eyes curling her arms around her nursing baby. Baloo yawned and climbed back in bed beside her. At least Janet was quiet now, so he might just get a little more sleep.
He sat a moment to watch the two of them. Baloo grinned, he never got tired of seeing his daughter nurse eagerly and Rebecca looking so motherly and attractive. How long had it been since he and Rebecca shared their love? But sex was the last thing on his mind now.
Just then, Will started wining. He too wanted some nursing.
Rebecca looked up at Will. She was able to force a smile. "Don't fuss, baby. There is plenty of mommy to go around."
Baloo got up and repeated the process all over again. He changed Will's diaper and then handed him off to Rebecca to nurse. Baloo took Janet from her and watched as Will went to work on the nipple.
"Baloo, thank you for helping," Rebecca said. Soon after Will had his fill of his mother's milk, the baby boy fell asleep and Baloo put him back his crib as he did with Janet.
The next morning was about the same. Baloo woke up, changed the twin's diapers, Rebecca nursed them and then they went to work. Baloo didn't want to leave his wife with both kids, so for the time being, he stayed at the office and helped her. Oh, how Rebecca loved that.
As Baloo finished checking off the cargo list, Gibber and Stephen walked up.
"Hi, Baloo," Gibber waved to the pilot. "I heard that you were staying at the office. Kids keeping you from flying?"
"Yes, they can be sometimes so demanding. I-"
"Baloo! I need your help," Rebecca said, leaning out the window with Janet in her arms.
"Can you two go pick up, Kit?" Baloo asked as he walked back into the office.
Both ex-pirates looked at each other, nodded, and went off toward the school. It was a long walk from the docks, so they decided to hail a cab. Stephen waved at a oncoming cab. But...it drove by.
"Taxi!" he shouted, but it kept on going. Gibber then walked up and held out his thumb. But like before, the cab passed them up.
Gibber frowned. "It's because we're ex-pirates, isn't it?"
This was getting them nowhere. They had to get to the school. Stephen then walked out into the middle of the road, held out his hand and shouted, "HALT!"
Gibber watched as a cab came to a sudden stop, just barely hitting Stephen, who then confronted the driver.
I guess being a moron comes in handy. he thought, then Gibber climbed into the cab and left, but without Stephen. The Great Dane took a second to realize that he was left behind.
"Hey, wait for me!" he shouted and ran off after the cab.
Things never could be better for the Bruinwald family, but happened to the others?
Well...
In the middle of the city, Ratchet was at the local coffee shop, sitting at a table with his sister. His sister was happy that he was no longer a pirate, but being jobless didn't help him at all. Ratchet thought about getting a job fixing old cars, his sister thought the same, and it was decided.
Ace London found a new calling also-but lets just say it was a "adult only" thing. Still, the gray wolf loved his new life because of all the girls that would come to work with him.
Muffy and Buffy both considered going straight. They opened their own shop, selling kids and adults all sorts of things. But it was later discovered that the couple was selling black market goods, so now, they're back in jail.
Jenna lived a good life with her family. Sadly, her grandfather died of heart failure. Matthew stayed with her for a few days, and would come back every now and then to see if she was alright. Charles was like family to him and good friend to everyone.
Hal left the city and chose to live in the mountains. No one ever saw him again after that.
Stephen rejoined the army. He always sent letters to his friends and ended up fighting in the war against drugs.
Gibber ended up working on his family farm. He still lives there and visits Cape Suzette once a week.
MacNee ended up working for a wildlife protection group.
Switchblade became a successful doctor. He loves seeing kids smile when they come in for check ups.
Matthew and Lotta made good rulers of their kingdom and now planing on starting a family. Matthew and his father became really close and ended up forming a anti-pirate group. They now call themselves, the Angels of justice.
Matthew also got his life's story published and soon started giving books to the jails for other prisoners to read. All his books were used to aid the Dax Publishing House after they had lost their founder, Alexzander Dax.
Kitten Kaboodle gave birth to a son and still plans to rid herself of the Bruinwalds. It may take some time, but with having all of Shere Khan's businesses, she can enjoy the life of a queen.
As for Karnage?
On a far away island was an old retirement home, here, nobody would ever think of looking for him in a place like this.
Don Karnage sat beside his mother, her eyes were still full of love for her son. "Donovan," she smiled, "there is something you need to know."
Donovan looked at her and asked, "What do I need to know?"
His mother reached into her pocket and handed him a picture of a lovely lady. She looked to be about twenty, maybe a few years younger then that, had the same color fur as Karnage and the same eye color. Karnage had an idea who she was.
"Is this you, mother?" he asked, giving her back the picture. His mother nodded.
"Yes, I was that age when I met your father. If I had known how evil and heartless he was, I would have never married him. But God had other plans." there was a sadness in her eye and Donovan knew that the next part would be about him.
"After you killed your father that night, I awoke to find you gone. I spent all my money trying to find you, but it was a lost cause. It wasn't until six years later that I heard about how you and group of street boys stole the Iron Vulture from your grandfather's testing site. Soon more news of you becoming a crule pirate like your father reached me."
"It's all true," he confessed sadly, not wanting to look his mother in the eye. But strangely, she smiles once more.
"No matter what happens now, I'm just glad your home at last."
"There's no place like home," he replied.
Karnage never left his mother and soon, the once feared pirate got married, and he loved his wife and continued to care for his mother. The hard thing was that all bad things he did haunted him, but Donovan's wife and mother were there to see him through.
THE END.
This is dax0042 saying thank you for all your reviews. I'm glad this story ended well for me, but if you think the ending is to short then sorry. I'm just happy to say that the next story will show how Karnage got his crew and how they all became pirates.
