Chapter 8: Remembering Her

I'd be lying if I said that that didn't affect me a little bit. But it's alright. When I was in Herwin, the colossal mountain located in Yothifer, I learned a few things. After Kira and Scret had their screaming contest we were finally granted the information we came for in the first place.

"So," Scret began, "you're the princess of that good for nothin' kingdom?"

"Yes I'm-" I started to introduce myself but, I had to remember that he was deaf. He wouldn't hear my words.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" That old fart asked in a very snarky tone.

"Princess, He can feel the vibrations from your voice. I'm sure he knows what you are saying."

"Right." I nodded. "My name is Arion Calliope Silver. I am the daughter of Queen Ue Thea Silver and the Black Dragon, Acnologia. I am Heir to the throne of Cecily. I wish to hold an audience with you."

"Acnologia, huh?" Scret scoffed. "That boy's still causin' trouble I guess." He murmured this to himself but, all of us heard it. He rolled his eyes irritatedly. The two obviously had some sort of history but, that wasn't exactly what I was here to hear about. "Regardless. You're pretty bold to come here in that repulsive human guise."

"And you are so bold to criticize someone you've only just met."

"And yet it seems as though we have met before."

"That might be but I am Arion. Not Ue. Not Cecily. Arion."

"You're shakin', girl." He was correct. I was shaking hard but, his size was down right intimidating, his voice ever so slightly hurt my hear drums, and this confrontation decided the fate of all of my friends... and my family.

"Will you accept my request?" I asked impatiently.

"That depends on what you want from me. A princess of the Golden City of Cecily couldn't possibly want anythin' from Yothifirian scum like me."

"I'm here to ask your assistance as a fellow dragon not to bring up old feuds. Besides, I know nothing of that time."

"I see. Proceed."

"So I was recently given the information that I have a half sister. This sister came down to Earthland where I was currently taking up residence and used a magic that is only used by the dragons of Yothifer..."

"Get to the point."

"I was wondering how to reverse it."

"Why do you want to know? What did your sister do with this magic?"

"She stole my family from me."

"You're the Princess of Cecily and you don't even know how to reverse simple magic? What have you been doing with your time?"

"Unfortunately," Remembering everything that I've been through ever since coming down to Earthland, time hadn't always been on my side. I wasted years fawning over a man and being childish. I wasted more time feeling sorry for myself and wallowing in failure. And then I ran. I ran far and I ran fast and I still couldn't get away from time. Finally, when time finally decided to befriend this foolish little dragon, everything went sour. "Things got rather complicated."

"Either break the spell or defeat her. The usual method for breaking curses or enchantments." And as if reading my mind, seeing the memories for myself, Scret just gave me the answer. I wonder if he could sense my uneasiness through the vibrating room.

"Yes but how do I break it?"

For the first time since arriving, he moved. He reached into the cavern walls like they were a little pocket for storing scraps of paper. And that was exactly what he pulled out and handed to me. "Take this with you. I trust you will be able to figure it out. The vibrations tell me you can."

"Thank you!" i shout breaking free of the regal facade i had been putting on as i hugged his giant arm with my little human form.

"Get off of me, girl!" I released him and turned to the rest of my party.

"Let's go guys." I smiled. "We've got work to do."

And so here they were. Spark, the twins and Arion, sitting on the floor of Natsu and Happy's little shack trying to decipher a message quickly given to me by an enormous deaf frost dragon with the ability to hear.

"What's wrong, princess?"

"Nothing... Nothing... Let's just keep going."

"Alright, I guess..." Kim was worried but, she brushed it off for sake of time. Besides, she knew that the results of this would determine the most important thing for her princess at this moment. "Shy."

"Right. So it reads..." Skimming over it a bit, his eyes grow wide with fear. "It's a spell actually."

"What kind of spell, Roen?"

"I-Its forbidden. If you or anyone else uses it, it could have some serious consequences..."

"Consequences like what?"

"Certain death..." He whispered

"NO! NONONO! NO! It can't be!" She pounded her fist into the ground. "This can't be..." She sobbed, tearless. "There has to be another way. Death is NOT an option this time." Her head was hung in defeat.

What am I gonna do now?

"THIS MEANS WAR!" Arion walked into the guild the next day only to be greeted with the sight of Natsu being tackled to the ground by several of Fairy Tail's men. And boy, was he screaming his little pyro head off! "LETS GO KICK THEIR ASSES! EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!" He screamed over and over. This was chorused by Max, Warren and a few others trying to get him to simmer down for once in his life.

She was utterly confused to say the least.

"So... What happened exactly?" She asked Mira Jane, who had taken a pause on her serving to witness the commotion that the salmon-haired dragon slayer was kicking up. Mira of course gave her the quick version of everything that had happened in the week she had missed. "So... the Council members have been killed?" Everyone was in a panic. And, yeah, she was just flat out, uncontrollably, irrefutably confused. She had only been gone for at least a week and everything was spiraling out of control.

"Yes it would seem so." Mira confirmed.

"And Laxus and the Thunder Legion are in the infirmary?"

"Yes."

"And Natsu is declaring war on this 'Tartatos' guild?"

"Yes."

"Okay then. Understood." Arion released a most exasperated sigh. This whole situation was stressful to say the least.

"So our hands are tied here.." Mumbled Cana into her booze barrel.

"Nope, not quite." And just like that, Leo the Lion himself appeared and he was far more cool and collected then some of Fairy Tail was. "I know the locations of the former members. Not all of them though."

"Loke!"

Wendy seemed weary of his claim. "How do you know, Loke?"

"Well you see..."

"From women I bet..." Lucy couldn't help but make a snide comment under her breath.

"What else would it be?" And Arion couldn't help but agree. "It is Loke, after all."

Regardless of Loke's lechery, he release the information on the council members' whereabouts to the Fairy Tail guild and now, they were ready to fight back. "We now know the locations of four of the former council members. We'll split into teams and protect them from Tartaros' attacks." The old man master said but, anyone could tell that he had a fire brewing in his belly. "OUR ENEMY IS TARTAROS!" Gramps shouted at the tops of his lungs. "They're a corner of the Barram Alliance just like the Oracion Seis and Grimoire Heart. We've destroyed both of the latter! We shall do the same to Tartaros! Let them rue the day that they made us their enemy! Our comrades were mortally wounded! Their pain amounts to our own! The blood they bleed is our own! This pain... This suffering will fuel our fighting spirit to take down our enemies! We are not justice! We move by our own wills!" The old man was more fired up than Arion had ever seen anyone in her entire life. This really was serious for him. "WE WILL PUT ALL OUR BONDS AND PRIDE ON THE LINE AND ELIMINATE ALL OUR FAMILY'S ENEMIES!"

Tomorrow we will set out to find and protect the former council members.

At all cost.

The teams were deployed the very next day. Natsu, Lucy, Arion and Wendy along with Happy and Carla, were sent to protect former council member, Mikero. having never seen him before, Arion was quite surprised to find that this man greatly resembled a cat given the way his hair was cut. The resemblance had fooled Happy into believing that they were the same, much to the old man's dislike, mind you.

The former concil member had been very reluctant on letting the fairies do their jobs. From the moment they had arrived and claimed that they were there for the sole purpose of his protection, he was not having anything to do with them. He'd rather have relocated and try to escape this threat rather than be protected in familiar territory.

Time had passed with talk on the matter until, a strange scent filled the air. "Natsu, you smell that?" Arion asked him. The scent wasn't familiar and it was very dangerous.

Natsu sniffed the air erratically. "EVERYONE GET DOWN!" He yelled as he abruptly tackled Wendy and Lucy to the ground.

"What the?!"

Natsu looked back, cursing himself in his mind for forgetting the reason we were even in this situation. "Old man!" He called out.

"I got him!" Arion called to them pulling old man Mikero to the ground. "Michelia! You get down, too." With a nod, the girl laid on the ground, shielding her head from the roof that was now crashing down around them.

"This scent!" Natsu hissed.

"What?" asked Lucy, confused by the sudden tackling and suddenly protective behavior the dragon slayer began exhibiting.

"MY HOME!" The former council member be can to shriek frantically. Another explosion rang out but the blast was gone before hit.

"Mikero!" Shouted Michelia, rising from her crouched position and running over to the small older man.

"What was that?"

"Is everyone alright?" There was so much confusion in that instance. Where did that explosion even come from?

"Phew..." Sighed the dragon slayer, forcing down the last bit of the explosion. "Don't know how I managed to gulp all that down just now."

Lucy stared in disbelief. "Eh... you ate it?"

"Good job, Natsu." Arion praised him, patting him on the shoulder. "Everyone seems fine now."

"Oh?" A voice unexpectedly spoke. It was a man's voice. "I expected to find all of you in bits and pieces after that..." They looked around until every set of fairy eyes were locked on the silohuetted figure of the culprit.

"Who're you?!" Natsu shouted up to him.

"...Just like the council members, that is." The voice just continued talking, ignoring Natsu as if he wasn't even there.

"Tartaros." The male dragon slayer hissed yet again, this time with more venom that before.

"The hell are you?" Finally focusing, Arion now noticed the silhouetted man's features. He looked fairly young and animalistic. He had shoulder-length dark blonde hair that hid his left eye with protruding ear shapes of the same color. He had very notable canine teeth and nose along with a long furry tail. Arion just couldn't help but to think about all of the scarier looking things she'd had for breakfast in the past.

"Fairy Tail's Natsu and I guess it's time to start putting Tartaros in body bags."

"Natsu, are you-"

The salmon haired dragon slayer nodded. "Everyone get away from me!" In other words, it was about to go down. Natsu and Jackal charged at each other and the fight raged on. It was hard to see through the falling debris what exactly was happening but, it could definitely be heard from anywhere.

The fight between the two began right then and there. The combination of Natsu's Fire and this Jackal character's explosives caused chaos on the streets. With each passing collision, the remaining fairies along with Mikero and his granddaughter were forced farther and farther apart. Arion surveyed her surroundings every second trying her best not to be crushed by sections of buildings that were now crumbled to the ground. "Lucy!" The dragon girl shouted. She hadn't seen it, Lucy didn't, the monstrous stone that was threatening to squash her whole. Arion had to warn her but, the sound never reached the blonde's ears over the commotion of the fight. "Watch out" She tried again but to no avail. Am I fast enough? The dragon girl thought. I can save her. I can.

Arion ran full force towards her blonde friend, dodging stray projectiles all the way. "Ari!" Lucy yelled as she was tackled to the ground, narrowly escaping being crushed to death in one of this demon's explosive fits.

"I'm here, Lucy!" Arion panted. The blonde was staring at her. Her brown eyes were wide in disbelief. "Lucy?" the dragon girl asked, perplexed at her abrupt silence.

The blonde quivered. A sudden type of realization washed over her in that instance. "No! Arion, its you! I remember!" She pulled the blue haired girl into the tightest hug she ever will or has received in her long dragon life. Arion was left breathless as she began lightly tearing up until it became something much more.

"You-"

"Ari! Arion Silver! We met years ago! You came to Fairy Tail! You became our friends- You and Gray-" She gasped briefly. "You and Gray...I'm so- I-"

"Lu- I-"

"I'm so sorry" Lucy apologized, stroking the bluenette's head gently, crying waterfalls of her own. "I'm so so sorry!"

Arion looked up at her, emerald eyes watering as waves among waves of tears spewed out. "I just... I'm so happy..."
