His clothes were black. It shouldn't be a surprise considering the fact that he wears it every day, but everyone who knew him would know that it wasn't a day to judge him.
As cruel as people can be, at least they wouldn't dare to breach the limit once they've seen it.
He walked away from the graveyard with a heavy heart; brushing of comforting hands from a bespectacled boy or a red-headed man.
He apparated on the spot; he couldn't stand the pitying looks anymore. It was certainly something he didn't need.
Once he landed on his office by the manor, he took out his wand, and closed his eyes. He tried to summon his happiest memories, but they all seemed to have something to do with her.
He tried anyway, for the sake of his sanity. Maybe if he could do this, things wouldn't be so bad after all.
"Expecto Patronum."
The sight before him made him re-evaluate his thoughts, because the results wasn't what he expected it to be.
He collapsed on the floor; crying.
Because what used to be a graceful lioness had turned into a mere white wisp.
