Alice and Esme returned half an hour later and I was still reeling from our discussion. I heard Alice's light foot-steps as she darted up the stairs and into our room. She paused only to re-close the door and then leaped into my arms. I sank to the floor and we sat there for hours curled up around each other.
Even though Alice knew I would have stayed she was still proud of me. She knew how uncomfortable I was around strange vampires and how hard it was for me to even begin trusting them. But I had to do this for her, I owed her. She pulled me out of my hell hole and gave me hope.
Alice broke the embrace as we heard Esme say goodbye to Carlisle. She stood up and dragged me downstairs with her as Carlisle headed off, most likely to the hospital. Esme watched him leave before turning to us.
"I guess it's just us then." She said and grinned at us. "Carlisle's at work, Emmett and Rose have gone on a mini-vacation and Edward's off sulking. It'll be nice to have some new company while they're away."
"Esme I'd love to see your designs." Alice spoke up and Esme looked surprised before no doubt remembering Alice's gift.
We followed her upstairs and down the hall into an impressive room with various sketches of houses. Esme picked up a folder and passed it over to Alice, who opened it and removed the sketches. They were of a Victorian-era home which overlooked a lake.
"Oh Esme these are beautiful! I only saw you start the sketches but I knew they'd be this amazing!"
"It's only a renovation of an house we've had for a while. I thought it could use some updating." She explained with a prideful smile.
While Esme and Alice conversed I felt a darker emotion seep into the room. I turned around and was unsurprised to see Rosalie glaring at us, or me more specifically. I had only seen her and Edward a couple times since we arrived two days ago but they had both been cold and Emmett had told me they had both thrown a tantrum over my staying here. After the 'incident' Emmett had been treating me like glass but he was slowly started learn when I didn't want to be bothered and we were getting along well. Aside from Esme I liked him the most, as Carlisle still wasn't to be trusted. Everything he did was contradictory to how real vampires acted.
Rosalie stomped away still angry I hadn't left or been kicked out yet. Not that it mattered. I didn't need to be friends with any of them I was here for Alice. Even though Emmett was easy to get along with, he seemed to have all but forgotten about the 'incident' that was our first meeting.
A/N: This is probably going to be the last regular post for a while since we're going on vacation in a week and school is resuming in 3 weeks. I will try to post updates but I'm not making any promises. Thank you to everyone who's been reading and reviewing I really apprecieate it. :)
