Excuse the short update but this chapter needs to be separate from the next!

"Who the hell was that?" Harrison came trotting down the stairs with a bag of chips in his hand as Stephen had attended to the ringing phone. By the look on Stephen's face, he could tell it wasn't anything good. He imagined Olivia probably missed her flight being the idiot she was. He undoubtedly be forced to go fetch her from airport during the night.

"Oh god." Harrison grunted. "Please tell me it wasn't the rents."

"It was the hospital." Stephen said with a choked up voice. "Olivia and Fitz were in a car accident. A really really bad car accident."

Harrison stood there for a moment, trying to process the words coming out of Stephen's mouth. It were as if Harrison had failed to hear.

"What the fuck are you talking about?"

"Olivia... and Fitz. They were in a serious car accident. They're both at Trestborough Park Hospital."

He couldn't believe his ears. How on earth could they have been in a car accident? Why on earth was Olivia in Fitz's car? The last thing he had heard, she was talking a taxi.

"What happened? How bad is she?"

"Critical. You need to call your parents."

They booked the first flight out from France, roughing it in economy class, the only seats available. They left that very night much to Denzel's scouring of the internet for any ticket. The plane ride was long and nauseating. All he could think about was his baby girl, laying there in a hospital bed alone. He couldn't believe the frantic and disturbing phone call he had gotten from his son. It took him almost 5 minutes after hanging up to come to terms with the news that had just been brought his way. His daughter was in critical condition after being totalled by another car.

If anything happened to her, Denzel ought to never forgive himself. His only girl; his baby girl was now lying between life and death. He couldn't breathe.

He couldn't eat.
He couldn't think.
He couldn't be.

He couldn't help but blame himself. None of this ever would have happened if she had simply come to Italy with them for the summer. Why on earth had he let Elizabeth talk him into grounding her? She needed to be with her parents, under strict supervision. How on earth could he have been so stupid to let Harrison watch over him; Harrison who still behaved like a child himself.

Denzel was literally going sick with worry. He needed to see his baby girl. He needed to make sure everything was alright.

"SURGERY?!" Harrison roared. He was about five seconds away from punching the doctor before him square in the face. Not only did the doctor refuse to reveal any information but he also remained with an attitude. For the life of him Harrison couldn't understand why on earth the doctor before him was being so rude. As if he didn't have enough on his plate dealing with his sick sister, he now had to deal with a testy surgeon.

"For the last time, your sister is in surgery. She came in with excessive bleeding to her thigh, head and arm."

"Excessive?"

The doctor rolled his eyes. He had no time to provide this young man with definitions of such simple words, he had lives to save. "I need to get back to my patients. I'll come back to you when I have more information. As of right now there's nothing I can tell you."

Harrison had never felt so powerless in all of his days. He felt frozen, as if everything was passing him by without avail. He couldn't do anything. His baby sister was fighting for her life and he simply stood there stunned.

"How is she?" Denzel skipped the pleasantries, getting right down to business as he joined his son in the waiting room.

"They won't tell me anything other than the fact she's out of surgery." Harrison murmured.

"What the fuck happened?" Denzel growled at his son.

Harrison gulped. He truly had no idea why Olivia and Fitz would be alone in the same car. The only explanation he could think of, was that Fitz would have drove Olivia to the airport. That being said, Denzel was sure to blame him for not driving Liv himself. He hadn't even heard Fitz offer to drive Olivia... He wasn't even aware that the two of them spoke outside of good morning and the occasional good night.

"Fitz drove Olivia to the airport and..."

"YOU WANNA TELL ME WHY YOUR FRIEND WAS DRIVING YOUR BABY SISTER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT? WHAT IN GODS NAME WERE YOU DOING THAT WAS SO IMPORTANT?!"

"Nothing!"

"NOTHING?!"

Harrison watched as his father practically turned into the incredible hulk. Denzel's entire face flushed up with anger and the next thing he knew, he was being sucker punched right in the kisser. His father's strong fist hurled straight for his bottom lip, splitting the skin there open wide.

"DENZEL!" Elizabeth cried out, pushing herself in between her husband and her son. Blood spewed from Harrison's mouth uncontrollably which then dripped down his neck to his shirt.

"If anything happens to your sister... You can just about bet your bottom dollar I'll kill you myself." Denzel warned his son before huffing off down the hall toward a group of nurses.

"She's going to be fine." Dr. Carson assured the Pope family and Stephen as he joined them in the waiting room. "Surgery went well, her vitals are good, no major damage done to the brain or spine. She's going to recover just fine."

They all let go of a breath, none were conscious they were holding. The world starting turning again. Their baby girl and baby sister was going to be okay. She was going to make it. Never ever did anyone want to go through this again. All Denzel wanted was to simply see and hold her, that was all.

"Thank you so much." Denzel and Elizabeth jumped from their seats to shake the doctor's hand. With the back of his own hand, Denzel wiped a few joyous tears which had fallen.

"In all honesty, when they came in I wasn't sure either of them were going to make it." Dr. Carson admitted honestly.

A cold shiver shot up Harrison's spine instantly.

Fitz.

He'd been so wrapped up in his sister, he'd failed to even acknowledge that his best friend was in accident was well. He could feel the contents of his stomach rising up.

"FITZ!" He barked out bewildered as ever. "HOW IS HE?"

The doctor's face fell before he pressed his lips together tightly. "I'm really not allowed to reveal any information unless you're family."

"He doesn't talk to his family!" Stephen spat out. He too had managed to get tunnel vision when it came to the accident. "We're the only family he has right now!"

The doctor reasoned. He could see the panic on their faces, and hear it in their voices. They seemed honest enough. And what he indeed had to tell them, wasn't something to hide. They'd be able to see it the moment they were reunited with their friend.

"I um... I think you should take a seat for this." Dr. Carson replied with a deep breath.

Her head was pounding. Throbbing. She felt as if she'd been hit by a freight train. Perhaps she had. The last thing she could remember was lying in a cold dark ditch, praying to the divinities for a miracle. Then she remembered; Charlie. That psychopath had practically derailed them off the road and into the ditch, and for the life of her Olivia couldn't understand why. She had never given him any signals to suggest she was remotely interested in him in any way.

"Her eyelids." Elizabeth noted as she watched her daughter's lids flutter.

She awoke to bright lights in an even brighter white room. Her throat was dry and her entire body was sore. She stared before her to see her mother, brother and father. She was sore all over, her body ached and screamed. She felt sleepy and oozy, which she immediately put down the drugs being pumped throughout her veins. As she turned to her family she did her best to force a smile upon her face.

Denzel looked the worst. Dark circles plagued the skin around his red eyes. He looked as if he hadn't stopped crying since the news of her accident broke. She wondered just how long she'd been out of it.

"Livvie?" He said watching as his baby girl awoke with her big doe eyes.

"Daddy?" She managed to croak out, tears running down her face manically. She couldn't help them as they flowed uncontrollably down her cheeks. Within a moment her dad had flung himself into her arms, hugging her tightly.

Harrison simply stared, silently as he stood at the foot of her bed. All he knew was his sister and best friend were in a horrible car crash. A car crash that had left Olivia in a far better state than Fitz. He needed answers and he needed them now.

After peppering his daughters face with kisses, Denzel pulled away elated. He couldn't have felt more relieved. Everything was going to be okay. He could visibly see his baby girl, and was going to vow to never let her out of his sight again.

"Liv." Elizabeth placed a kiss on her daughters forehead to which Olivia took in stride. It was very rare occasion when her mother decided to be emotional. She ran her fingers up and down her daughter's bruised face before placing another kiss on her cheek.

"What happened?" Harrison asked once the dust had slightly cleared. His tone was bitter and dry.

"What do you mean?" Olivia by now had figured out that she was in hospital. Hooked up to an IV with multiple tubes in her arm.

"You and Fitz. Why was he—"

"Now is not the time for that." Denzel turned to his son harshly. It seemed as if he were the only one able to put the pieces together. He could gather with common sense that his daughter had entered some type of romantic relationship with his son's friend. That was the only thing he could pin down to the drastic change in his daughter's demeanour. She no longer sounded hostile on the phone during their conversations, and she had called him daddy for the first time in years.

"I wanna know NOW!" Harrison boomed, getting angrier by the second. It seemed he was unfazed at the fact his baby sister was lying in a hospital bed with stitches in her head.

"Harrison I'm warning you..." Denzel got up from his seat. "Drop it or I'll—"

"I'm in love with him." Olivia interrupted her father and watched as both her mother and brother's face's sank. "We're in love." She knew the time was now, it was not somethings he could hide anymore. It wasn't exactly the ideal situation she wanted for revealing her's and Fitz's relationship to her family, but there was no more room for secrets. She wouldn't dare to sneak around with him any longer, especially after what had just taken place in his car. She simply wanted to hold and kiss him.

She wanted to run her fingers through his soft curls. She wanted to kiss the spot below his ear which made her shudder each and every time. She wanted to rake her nails along his chest, ravelling in the chest hair there she loved so much. She wanted to feel him flush against her.

She wanted him. Every single second of every single day.

Everything else could wait.

Elizabeth Pope's face looked like death as those words left her daughters mouth. "Excuse me?" Elizabeth was certain she hadn't heard her daughter right. Had Olivia really just admitted to being in love with her brother's best friend?

"Where is he?" Olivia ignored her mother, turning to her father. "Is he okay?"

Denzel shook his head regretfully. "He's um... We'll talk about this later Livvie."

Her stomach dropped. Had something happened to him? What was wrong? "Dad tell me now." She said sitting up straight. "Where is he?"

"Olivia please you need to rest you've had two major surgeries and—"

"He's paralyzed." Harrison said deciding to put his sister out of her misery. "He's paralyzed from the waist down."

Yes another cliff hanger although not really. Honestly this story was supposed to end at the end of the summer where Harrison would walk in on Olitz and freak out, however this story has taken a mind of its own. The response I've gotten for this story has been crazy and I will keep writing as long as you keep reading. I estimate this story will be at least 20 chapters. I warned you all its going to get rough for Fitz so I hope you're all ready.

Updates will be completely random as college is my number 1 priority.

Until next time! x
