Johan LP 4000 | Jaden LP 4000
Turn 1:
"I'll be first." Johan reached for his deck. "Draw!"
"I summon 'Gem Beast – Emerald Turtle' (DEF2000) in Defence mode."
First, an emerald gem was showed through the hologram. Then it broke with a flash like an egg hatching. Viola, a turtle shell with some spiky emeralds.
From within the shell are emerald eyes that surveyed the whole arena. "So many people are watching, Johan." It sounded like an old man.
"Don't worry about them." Johan tried to raise his spirit.
The audiences were bewildered by the new card in play.
"Wow. It's shiny."
"Way cool, bro."
Jaden doesn't seem surprised to see the Gem beast nor the talking.
It wasn't new for Jaden to see one since him, too, can talk to his buddies. But seeing it as a second-person was a refreshing feeling. Amusing even.
"I set one card face-down and end my turn."
Turn 2:
"About your answer earlier…"
Johan was listening attentively. "You're half right and half wrong."
"Draw!" The card he got made him lift a smile like he already won. "Sorry but I'll make this a quick one."
Johan alerted himself. "Let's see about that."
"I activate E-hero Infernal Prodigy's effect!"
The crowd felt excitement.
"Infernal Prodigy?"
"A new Elemental Hero?"
Everyone heard a new 'E'-hero. But they don't know the rest of it.
"If I don't have any monsters on my field-" Jaden paused for less than a second. "I can summon him as special summon."
Johan seems to be entertained by Jaden's gameplay.
"Special Summon! Evil-Hero Infernal Prodigy (ATK300)!"
The crowd's jaws fell right to where Jaden wanted them.
'There he goes.' Johan was chuckling. "Trap Activate! Triggered Summon!"
Jaden grinned a little as Johan continued. "When a monster is special summoned, both of us can special summon one monster with levels 1-4."
'Now that's a mistake.' Jaden was laughing at Johan from the inside.
"Go, Gem-beast Cobalt Eagle (DEF800)!"
"Evil- Hero Infernal Gainer (ATK1600)!"
Both of them breathed for a pause so that the crowd could catch up to their climatic duel.
"Evil Hero…"
"They're more like an anti-hero."
The lead player continued. "I tribute Prodigy to summon, Evil-Hero Malicious Edge!"
When Malicious Edge was summoned, it felt like he laughed (evil laugh) for a second. Dark aura was surrounding the newly brought hero. Not exactly a 'hero' quality.
"Wait." Johan stepped-in. "Malicious Edge is level 7, ya know?"
The little grin Jaden had turned to a big smile. "It's his effect. When my opponent controls a monster, I can tribute 1 monster to summon him."
Johan doesn't seem pleased as to what he heard.
"Now, let me show you your mistake."
Jaden's statement made Johan drop a sweat. "Mistake?"
"Battle!" Jaden declared.
Johan braced himself.
"I activate Infernal Gainer's effect. During my Battle Phase, I can remove him from play and select a Fiend-Type monster I control. That monster can attack twice during the Battle Phase."
"Urk-" Johan saw his end of the error.
Infernal Gainer vanished from the field.
"Malicious Edge, attack Cobalt Eagle and Emerald turtle!" Jaden punched to the air.
Needles from Malicious Edge hurled down to Johan's field without any resistance. The impact from the destroyed monsters made him cover from all the smoke it caused.
"I forgot to tell." Jaden flashed an evil smirk. "Malicious Edge has a piercing effect."
Johan LP 1600
The smoke cleared out little by little. Johan was still covering his head like he was in a boxing match. But the things in front of him were new.
Two gems with the colour of cobalt and emerald were respectively in place.
From beneath, Johan was gleefully smiling. Though he wasn't the only one.
Jaden was very very amused. The fact that he beat down the two monsters and was still in the field made him show a real duel freak about to get his favoured candy.
"Gem-beasts' effect. If they are destroyed by battle, I can place them face-up in my Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card, instead of sending them to the Graveyard." Johan was only getting warmed up.
"I set one card. Turn end."

It was dark, spooky and a little abandoned. The SAL lab was left to rot when Jaden beat the hell out of the scientists that where researching about monkey duels. Now, it is in use again by an ex-military commander named Cobra even though the lab itself looked like it shut down.
The monitors were blank. The computers doesn't seem to have been used for maybe 2 years. And the whole building looked like it had no electricity.
His hands were behind him in a stand-by position. He looked at the cylindrical flask that was towering from ceiling to floor like a pillar with spikes from both ends.
It was more like a human sized lava-lamp with yellow-orange hue that fitted as a light source for Cobra.
"Just a little more." He walked towards the door. "My dreams will finally be reality."
As he exits, his maniacal laughter echoes throughout the building.
Other than his echo, a voice of a woman was audible. A vertical eye that seemed like a spirit was calling out to someone. "I'll see you soon." It was weak. "My precious Jaden."

TURN 3:
As Johan was about to draw his card, a tingling sensation ran through Jaden's body. It made him stiffen and somehow, weaken. 'What the-' He looked back to the audience's seat.
"Draw!" Johan's high spirit suddenly became a wild roar that snapped Jaden out of his daydream.
'I need to focus!' He thought. "Activate trap! Drop-off!"
Jaden almost lost his cue. "When my opponent draws a card, he'll have to discard it."
Johan doesn't appear to mind that he discarded a card. Scratch that, it looked like it was into his favour.
"I summon Gem-beast Amethyst Cat (ATK1200)." Another gem-beast. 'This is the third.' Jaden calculated.
"Also, I activate the Spell Card- Crystal beacon." Johan was flapping his ears in excitement.
"When I have two Gem beast monster in my Spell and Trap card zone, I can Special Summon 1 "Gem Beast" monster from my Deck, then you can draw a card."
Jaden draws a card. "Come out, Gem beast – Topaz Tiger (ATK1600)!"
"You seem to be in a tight spot, Johan." The white tiger was laughing at him.
"I guess." He scratched his head.
"So that's the guy bullying you." Amethyst cat pointed a paw to Jaden.
'Bullying?' Jaden was being sarcastic.
"Let me have a piece of him!" Talk about a grumpy cat.
"Battle!"
'What?' Jaden was confused. He'll battle with two big cats with only less than 2000 attack points? 'Unless…..'
"I activate Amethyst Cat's effect. I'll cut her attack to half but in return she can attack directly."
Jaden sighed like he expected much. 'Thought so.'
"Go, Amethyst Cat! Direct Attack!"
The Cat mend its way towards Jaden, ignoring Malicious Edge. She jumped at him causing him to fall back-first. They were staring eye to eye. Amethyst was stepping on Jaden like it was seducing him. She raised a paw. A paw with really sharp claws.
'This is going to hurt.' Jaden steadied himself.
Two scratch sounds. Six claws in total.
Jaden LP 3400
"Awwwww…." He touched his face as to where the marks are. "That stings." He was resting on the ground.
"I set two cards face down and end my turn."
TURN 4:
Jaden stares off at the arena's ceiling. 'Wish these days can go on forever.'
After a second, he faces reality. He gets-up to his feet and resumes the duel. "My turn. Draw!"
He looked at the card he had. Spell Card - Dark Fusion. 'Maybe I can lengthen the duel some more.' He nicks the back of his head and gazes on Malicious Edge. It tilted its head like a small nod. Even as an Evil – Hero, it still has a heart. A hero's heart.
"Looks like I don't have much to do." Jaden tried to make an excuse.
"Battle! Malicious Edge, attack Amethyst Cat!"
The Evil Hero flew above Amethyst Cat. It grinned like it was saying "Payback time."
"Needle Burst!"
It flung needles from its hands like the ones wolverine had.
"Trap Activate! Last Resort!" Johan was getting ready as he laid his cards down with all he's got.
Jaden can't shake the excitement off of him. It was like he returned to childhood were everything was fun.
"I activate Field Spell 'Ancient City – Rainbow Ruins'!"
After the attack, "Gem beast's effect!" A roughly polished amethyst gem materialized at Johan's Spell and Trap card zone. "Also, with the effect of Rainbow Ruins, the damage would be halved."
Johan LP 900
"You continue to surprise me, Johan!" Jaden bursts a thrilled shout.
Johan agreed. "But you're making it hard for me to win, ya know?!"
Both of them were enthusiastic. Their fiery wills were on equal frequency and hotness.
'Let me see if you can arrange a turnabout, Johan Andersen.' Jaden smirked to the thought.
xxxX Audience Seat Xxxxx
"Evil Heroes…" Manjoume was lost. "Where the hell did he get those?"
"They're the same as the Elemental heroes." Asuka commented.
Sho can't seem to agree. "But rather dark…."
"And scary… -don" Kenzan seems to be the most affected by the cards. Assuming that he can feel the dark aura around it.
The silence helped them grimace even more. They didn't like Jaden's beat-down style of duel. It was too far of a change in Jaden. True, the enthusiasm was there and all but something they thought would be their even after all the change that occurred was gone. The E-hero deck.
"Indeed, it is a change." Someone from behind their sit mumbled.
A white suit and white hair. It can only be one person. "Edo Phoenix?!"
"Though I think the change was for the better." He leaned on Manjoume's sit like it was to mock him.
Manjoume was pissed enough on Jaden and now another comes. "What are you doing here?"
"You do know that I'm still a student here." Now he was indeed mocking him. "Besides,"
He pointed his eyes towards Johan. "Jaden will be having a hard time sorting this one out." And now he was at Jaden who was smiling like he has no problem at all. 'Or so I thought'
"Hard time?" Sho questioned. "What do you mean?"
Edo looked at the group with a lift of a brow. They appear curious enough that they'd bust a hole into him with just a look.
"I personally talked to President Maximillion after I won a tournament sponsored by Industrial Illusions."
Manjoume looked like he was about to burst by sheer jealousy.
"He mentioned that I was at the 4th of his favorite duelists. The fifth being the one duelling Jaden."
They were shocked to the core. A favorite of the President means that they are good. Or rather, elite.
"But how did President Pegasus know Johan?" Sho was on to something.
Edo states that Johan had participated a European tournament, and while there, the Gem beast cards Pegasus had taken with him began to glow. He took this as a sign that the cards had chosen Johan, and thus gave them to him.
Sho believed thus. "Lucky~"
"But when you look at this duel-" They shifted to the exhibition duel. "Don't you think that what you said is a little over estimating?"
'No.' Edo thought to himself. 'It's just that Jaden is far stronger compared to before.' His look could have stabbed Jaden if not kill. 'And considering that him and Yugi Motou were on the first in the President's list….. this isn't a shock.'
xxxxX Principal's Seat Xxxxx
'Jaden has grown far more than what I expected.' Samejima was rubbing his chin. He felt proud. But not fully. 'I wonder what else has changed in him.'
"The duel seems to be going smoothly." Cobra finally reached the seat beside the Principal.
Samejima looked to Cobra. "Yes, it appears so." He was delighted to see the progress.
"I hope this duel will inspire the others." Cobra, too, was delighted but not at the same reason.
The principal nodded. He expects the others to change as well for the better.
xxxxX Duel Arena Xxxxx
Both duellists were laughing at each other. Praising each other for the wonderful match they are currently having.
TURN 5:
"Draw!" The turn was on Johan.
"This is it, Jaden." He finally got his desired situation.
"I summon Gem Beast – Sapphire Pegasus (ATK1800) in Attack mode!"
A mythical being. White wings and a sapphire horn. It was majestic.
"Not yet." He continued. "I activate Pegasus' effect, when he is summoned to the field, I can choose a Gem Beast either from my hand, deck or graveyard and place it in the Spell and Trap card zone."
He detached his deck from the duel disk and searched for a card. "I choose Gem beast – Amber Mammoth!"
An oval amber emerged from with the other gems. It was orange and big compared to the other gems.
'This makes the sixth. Too bad he's short in one.' Jaden was thinking from the back of his head.
Johan entered the battle phase with the usual effect of Amethyst Cat.
Jaden LP 2800
'Don't tell me this is all he's got?' Jaden sighed like all energy was sucked out of him.
"Turn end."
TURN 6:
Still, Jaden kept the smiling face. "Guess it's my turn, Draw!" The cards on his hand doesn't seem to want to prolong the duel any longer.
"Sorry for the second time." The smile turned to a scowl. "But I'll end this now."
Johan doesn't seem to be fazed. He looked like he was even looking forward to it.
It made Jaden raise a brow. "I activate the Spell card – Dark Fusion!" A dark vortex appeared behind Malicious Edge.
"I fuse E-Hero Malicious Edge and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness!"
Jaden and Johan were both looking forward to the new hero. "Come! Evil – Hero Malicious Fiend (ATK3500)!"
Dark wings appeared out of the vortex. A dark hero with a violet-blue spiky helm covering the eyes. Three claws that resembled wolverine's where on each hand. It was smiling like a sadist about to see pain.
Jaden entered the battle phase. "Malicious Fiend, attack Sapphire Pegasus!"
'Looks like it's the end.' Jaden was about to turn off his duel disk.
"Trap Card, open!"
Johan took him by surprise.
"Rainbow Gravity!"
"That's useless." Jaden huffed. "Heroes made from dark fusion can't be affected by spells and traps."
"Too bad I'm not targeting your monster." Johan turned gleeful. "Let me show you my Ace Card."
'Ace-?!' Jaden's line of thought snapped. 'It can't be, but he only has six gem beasts in-'
He remembered when he activated the trap card 'Drop-off'. 'In the graveyard!' The one that got discarded was the last gem beast, Ruby Carbuncle.
He blew some air. 'Too bad that Ace card of his is-'
"Come, Ultimate Gem God – Rainbow Dragon!" He was smiling until it reached his ears.
A shadow that looked like a giant dragon formed its way towards the arena. The spectators were amazed by the grandiose sleuth.
'-a bluff.' He knew but it still made Jaden's blood pressure soar rocket high.
"Strike it! Malicious Fiend!" He said with all his spirit.
"Just kidding!" Johan said out of nowhere.
"EH?!" The whole audience flanked out.
Turns out that the one that made the shadow of the Gem god was the seven gem beasts making a stupid formation.
Johan LP 0
The arena was covered with smoke for the final time. And the holograms were down and out. Johan was now the one lying back-first to the ground.
Then, Jaden's laugh was getting louder and louder. He was amused. Too amused to even care how loud he could laugh. When Johan heard it he sat straight and laughed with him.
Seconds passed. Jaden walked towards Johan lending a hand. "Too bad the Gem God isn't with you yet."
"Yeah." He accepted the offer. "The tablet for it isn't found yet."
He turned to the crowd. "If anyone finds the tablet, let me know okay?"
As he said the words, Cobra came slipping into the arena. He patted both their shoulders.
The dome came silent.
"Isn't it time for you to explain what this shack- bracelet is for, Cobra-sensei?" Jaden was the only one who had the guts to talk like he was owed an explanation.
Cobra didn't seem to mind the arrogant talk. Why? Because he already got what he wanted. "It'll be explained tomorrow, Jaden Yuki." He eyed on the bracelet that was glowing orange.
Jaden felt a tiny pang on his whole body. Like it was shaken by a little earthquake that only he felt. 'This-?!' He instinctively looked at his right hand that held the bio-band. '…..' He can't seem to 'sense' anything out of the ordinary in it.
"Now this is my policy!" Cobra took the moment of silence. "You will fight and fight!"
Jaden was pleased on the duel he had. 'I really wish that duel never ended.' He wheezed.

Hours have passed after the duel. Jaden was sitting out his fatigue. The red sun continued to set as he was gazing at it with eyes of unknown feeling.
"It's rude to spy on people, you know." He exclaimed to the group behind the pillar.
"See! I told you he would notice!"Sho whispered as soft as he can.
"It's because you're too noisy –saurus!"
"Would both of you cut it out!"
"That was a nice match, Jaden." Two people walked from the stairs. Edo and Asuka were indifferent for the three idiots who were still behind the pillar.
Jaden smiled softly without looking back at them. "Aren't you going to ask about my deck?"
Asuka posed with arms crossed. "Did you think we would ask that just when we finally saw you for maybe i don't know..." She was a bit angry and a bit worried. "...two months?"
The man in question chuckled. "Nah, I just wanted to test you guys."
'Aniki has changed.' Sho dropped his head.
The silence was nerve-wrecking. It signified just how far the group had fallen apart.
"How was the 2 months?" Edo tried to change the subject.
"If hellish wasn't a word then I don't know how to describe it." He looked up and leaned on his hands.
Then, he set his back on the concrete floor and closed his eyes. "What I'm saying is, it's good to be back."
The statement was still processing on Sho's mind. As soon as it processed, the product was a tear.
"Waaahh! Aniki!"
They all smiled nonchalantly as Sho ran to Jaden.
His dramatic comeback was finally complete.
'I really wish this day could last.' Jaden prayed to the heavens.
AN: I'd rate myself 3/10 on the duel b/w Johan and Jaden. I didn't really think about it deeply and (I made Johan too weak)...*sigh* anyways, I did a rather stupid thing on some(whole) parts of the story.
Oh, and the issue about the evil hero deck...(cliff hanger- cuz i love ya guys)
