By the time Natsu and I had arrived the area had been vacated by the lightning mage and the iron dragon had both left, while Jet and Droy both rested against a tree.

"They left about 5 minutes ago. Gajeel said he had work to do, and Laxus was muttering something… I couldn't make out what he was saying." Jet said as we walked up.

"Well I guess we didn't really need to run up here in the first place." I say with a sigh. "Too bad our battle got cut short; I wanted to see everything you could do."

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen of Magnolia to the Mrs. Fairy Tail competition! I am Max Alors and I will be acting as your Judge for today!" He yelled through the microphone.

"Tell me why I'm here again? I need to take some jobs in order to get an apartment. I know that this festival is a big deal, but does everyone have to be here?" I ask Gray.

"Are you kidding me? It's only been two weeks since you've been here and you've gotten more jobs than some of the oldest and strongest in the guild. Take a break and look at all of the women." He said looking back at the stage.

By this time all but Lucy had performed in some way or another.

"And now for the winner of this competition the most beautiful of them all." Said a voice from behind the curtain. Around the side walked a woman in a short green dress and glasses. "Me."

"Evergreen?! Lucy! Don't look her in the eyes!" Gray yelled as he stood up.

"What do you-" Lucy was cut short. As she had looked over the woman tipped her glasses down. When their eyes met, Lucy suddenly turned into stone.

"Evergreen what do you think you're doing?! Turn her back this instant!"Makarov yelled from the back of the room.

Suddenly there was a large crack of thunder; the hairs on my arm began to rise. A booming voice echoed through the room. "I don't think so old man!" The flash of lightning hit the stage and 3 figures appeared standing behind Evergreen. A man with spiked blond hair walked forward and put his arm around the Lucy shaped statue. "I'm thinking we need to have a little competition to see just who's the strongest in the guild."

Natsu suddenly perked up from the table. "Yea let's go!"

"This is ridicules. Release them now Laxus" Makarov said

"I will, once you find me and defeat me! It will be Fairy Tail VS Me and the Thunder Clan. You have three hours, or else the statues crumble. Let the battle of Fairy Tail… BEGIN!" with his final words another flash of lightning the group on the stage disappeared.

The full guild was silent for a moment. As though everyone was processing what had just been said. A single glass fell from the table, spurring everyone back into the moment. Everyone sprung into action, running out of the door and yelling about finding Laxus and beating him to a pulp.

Makarov began to run to the door. "Laxus you will not get away with this. I am going to find you an-" His words were cut off as he ran into an invisible wall. As he pulled away and looked at the air. Glowing red runes appeared where he had stopped. "A magic trap. Freed must have set this around the guild. Let me read this… nobody over the age of 80 shall pass through this gate."

Natsu laughed as he stood up. "Calm down gramps this is just another contest! No need to have you join the fight." He slammed his fists together and began to run in the direction of the door. "Look out Laxus, I'm coming for yo-" he ran directly into the rune wall, stopping him dead in his tracks.

"Don't tell me your over 80! " Makarov yelled

I wonder if it has something to do with his magic. I think to myself. I rise from my seat and begin walking to the barrier. As I approach I reach out and find myself not blocked from exiting. "Don't worry, I'll find him and stop him. Where do you think he would be?"

Before I got a reply there was a buzzing in my ears and my vision began to fade. Damn, not now! I fell to the ground, just outside of the barrier.
