A few days had passed since the incident with Laxus and Fairy Tail's battle and we were trying hard to repair all of the damage throughout the town. To which I seemed the most qualified. Meaning they paired me with the one of the ones who did a lot of the damage himself.
"This is stupid. I don't get how my magic will help in the reconstruction." Gray said as he was moving more rubble into a pile by a wall. "I mean isn't Elfman or someone like that a better fit?"
I sigh as I draw the transmutation circle around the rubble. "You know complaining about it isn't making this easier on anyone. At least your not paired with Natsu, you would never get any work done." I look down to check my work. "Are we sure this is all of the pieces? It seems like we're missing some."
Gray looked around. "Are there any inside? I'll go check." He walked around the building for a few minutes before coming back. "No, the inside is spotless. Which is weird, this house doesn't have anyone living in it. It had a for sale sign in the window."
I exhaled as I crouched down to place my hands on the circle. The alchemic lightning began to crackle through the air. "Oh well, how much were they asking? I need a place to stay."
The masters voice soon rang through the hall another few days later. "Natsu, Gray, Darren, Lucy, I need to see the 4 of you."
"What did you idiots do now?" Lucy asked Gray and Natsu
"It had to be the stupid fire breather. I haven't been on a job for a week with all of these repairs around town." Gray replied.
"Shut up ice boy! I haven't either!" Natsu yelled back.
As we approach the room Makarov had called us into we quickly realized it wasn't something that any of us had done. "Sit down you all. I'm sending you all on a mission."
"Sir, I don't want to question your judgment but seeing as to me being so new should I really be here?" I ask as I lean against the wall in the back of the room.
"You actually may be the key to this mission. Seeing as your abilities aren't effected by areas or magic blocking powers." He began to explain. "But you will not be the only wizards there by any means. There are a total of 4 guilds that will be working on this quest. We are targeting the Oración Seis, a kingpin dark guild who has hundreds of smaller guilds working under them. There are only six members but each is extremely powerful."
"How many people from each guild are coming? Do we know what they are after?" I ask questioning the amount of information we have been given. "What do we know about any of this, does anyone know anything?"
"Not much is known, I will admit I'm sending you all in blind. That's why I'm sending the 5 of you. You're going to need as much brain as you will need brawn. Now remember the importance of this mission, if we can take them out of the picture many of the other dark guilds will be without leadership. Now, are you ready to show the world just what Fairy Tail is capable of" Makarov replied.
"AYE!" the group all shouted.
I walked back to my new apartment as I think back to what Lust had said. 'The two of us are the lucky ones. Oh did I say two? I meant 9. You, I, and all of my kind are here.' That means all of them, all of the creatures the Elric brothers and I had fought for years to destroy, were now here in this world.
My mind was flooded with others who had passed while I packed my backpack. 8 of them in this world now; Is that why the gate placed me here? Am I actually being given a second chance to atone for my sins of stepping into god's domain? Should I tell anyone, maybe the master and those I've grown to trust?
A sigh seeped out during all of these thought and took me back into reality. I glanced at the clock on the wall. "Oh crap, I'm already late!" I grabbed my bag and ran out, slamming the door behind me.
