"Hughs…" I said to myself. I couldn't take my eyes off of hum. He had the same smug look on his face as he always did. The same rugged beard, even the same demeanor he held himself in. it was most definitely the same man who had been killed my Envy. I was fighting back the tears as he turned and looked at me. His bright face grew dark and his hand fell to one side of his belt where he had always kept a hidden knife. He motioned to the other room.
"I'm going to step into the restroom, be right back." He said as we began to step out.
Silently, I snuck over into the hall after him. But as I stepped around the corner I felt the blade press against my neck. "I don't know who you think you are wearing my old friends face, but I'm going to give you till the count of five to explain what you're here."
"Oh my god it really is you…" I said quietly enough so that the others couldn't hear me. "How did you get here? I can't believe you're actually here. Unless your actually a hallucination and in that case I really need to start thinking about what I'm eating."
The blade left the side of my neck as quickly as it had gotten there. "So somehow you ended up here just as I did. You didn't have to-" He started to say.
"No. I didn't have to… die…" I said, I couldn't force myself to look Hughs in the eyes. He had been on the way to meet me when he had been killed.
"Hey kid, don't go down that path. I know what you're thinking and it wasn't your fault. I was the one who said I would meet you. I was the one who cut through the park that night, and I was targeted by those things because it would get to the Elric's and to Mustang. So whatever you do stop blaming yourself. I don't blame you, and if I know the others they all forgave you before you told them everything that had happened." Hughs stated. "Now we had better get back before everyone thinks that the two of us were together in there! Wouldn't want that cute blond in there to-"
I cut him off before he could finish. "Mirajane is here."
Hughs stopped before he walked around the corner. He turned and faced me with a pained look in his eyes. "Come on kid, we can talk after all of this is over." He said as he turned the corner.
It took about half an hour for the plan to be set. Teams were set to play balance to each kind of magic, using Archive. "Alright then lets get down to work! Right after I use the little wizards room." Ichiya said as he skirted around the corner.
It took another 15 minutes for the plan to be settled. We all walked out the door, looking to the sky and seeing the Christina. Our whole plan was coming together, until the explosion rocked the sky.
