Nobody moved. Time seemed to stand still. Hibiki continued to type on his Archive, coming up with his strategy to deal with an enemy he's never seen before. Hughs stayed crouched under his tree, not getting involved unless I really needed the help. The wind scattering leaves around our feet as we staired each other down.

"Well? You gonna make your move or should I make something to drink?" I said, clutching my spear, knowing very well the trouble I was in.

"Oh come now, we both know you couldn't make a good cup of coffee to save your life, not that it would at this point." Wrath said in a joking voice, reaching and pulling both blades out of their scabbards. "I was just waiting for you to start taking me seriously, put away the stick and use what we both know you my stand a chance with."

"No thanks, I can handle you." I said, positioning myself in an defensive stance.

He flew at me with the same inhuman speed he had always possessed, slamming into my spear with both blades. It was all I could do to keep my footing, blocking each blow without time to counter with one of my own. Wrath wasn't even breaking a sweat, in fact he was laughing. A wild laugh that would send chills down most men's spines, and I was no different.

"Come now, are you going to start taking me seriously, or am I going to kill you." He barked out as he slashed out, breaking my spear in half.

"Darren!" hughs called, about to run to my rescue, and likely both of our deaths. Before I held up my hand.

"No! No. I'll give him what he wants. Just keep Hibiki and Erza safe." I yelled before turning back to Wrath. "Ok Bradley, come get me!" I yelled before sprinting into the forest.

"You know how I like hunting…" he growled before running after me.

I ran for I don't know how long before finding another small field. I turned and stood, waiting for the former king, knowing he would want to draw this out. Reaching for my neckless, breaking the charm off of the chain. Letting the magic take hold, changing the charm into a new weapon. Extending into a staff, but not stopping there. At the top of the staff, a large crescent extended from one side. A slick onyx black blade. After a few moments I picked up the scythe and held it over my shoulder.

The silence was broken by clapping from the woods. A slight chuckle from Wrath as he walked through the tree line. "That's more like it, now this will be fun. Time to fight 'Obsidian Reaper' show me what you can do!"
