Where There's a King There's Always a Queen
Ch 7: Face to face with the Dark Dweller
"That damn woman, I can't get her or her voice out of my head." Bakura groaned as he rested on his bed only in a pair of faded jeans, his muscular chest bare. His Millennium Ring the only thing against his chest. He looked over at and out his window to see his host's friends walking with luggage towards the airport that was half a mile away. And who was with them but the very woman he couldn't wash out of his thoughts. "Just where do they think they're going?" Bakura walked over to the window and used the power of the Ring to hear in on their conversation.
"So once we get to Egypt we'll meet up with a few of our friends in Cairo." Atem explained to the woman that Bakura couldn't forget.
"That's fine with me." The girl replied.
"They'll have to lead us to place where we went the first time we were sent to the past since we don't remember the way there." Joey stated.
"So they are going back to the past to try and stop me again are they, well, we'll just have to see about that, won't we?" The spirit chuckled, grabbed his shirt, slipped it on, and followed after the group quietly.
Lieghl'ah was worried about Akilah. Lieghl'ah had instructed the hawk to fly to Cairo and wait for her there. "I hope she's okay."
It was morning, last night came to me in a rush, and I sighed with content. I looked up at Touzoku, who was still asleep underneath me, I giggled at the cute little pout that was on his face. "Touzoku? Touzoku, wake up babe." I said as I playfully nibbled his left earlobe. He moaned stubbornly and continued to sleep. I rolled off of him, there was only one way that I could get him to wake up, I ran my fingers lightly over the bottom of one of his feet. It twitched slightly as Touzoku lightly chuckled. I grinned victoriously as I continued to run my fingers against the bottom of Touzoku's foot. "No… No Lieghl'ah, stop it, stop it." Touzoku grinned and chuckled as I continued to tickle him. He jolted awake and moved away from me. He looked over at me with a childlike pout. I laughed at his expression and kissed him on the cheek, "Good morning."
"Passengers if you would look out your windows, welcome to Cairo." The pilot's voice over the intercom woke up Lieghl'ah from the continuation of her memory of the one from the previous night.
"Hey guys wake up. We're here." Lieghl'ah woke up her companions. Once the group was within the Cairo air port they sought out their guides to the sanctuary.
"Yugi, guys, over here!" A voice called the group.
The group turned to see a young man with bleach blonde hair, a woman with black hair, and a man that Lieghl'ah could have sworn she recognized, "Steryu?" Lieghl'ah ran over to the trio after the others. She looked at the man again, "It's not him, his eyes are different and Steryu doesn't have that tattoo." Lieghl'ah corrected herself.
"Marik, Odion, Ishizu it's good to see you three." Yugi smiled.
"It's good to see you as well Yugi, when you called us the other night we were confused about why you and your friends want to go back to the sanctuary." Ishizu said calmly.
"Is there something wrong?" Marik asked. The group glanced at each other.
"It might take awhile to explain." Joey stated.
"Might I suggest that we discuss this over lunch?" Odion spoke.
"Sure, sound good guys?" Yugi turned to his friends.
"Yeah let's do it, I'm starving." Duke announced.
"Me too." Tea, Joey, and Tristan groaned. Lieghl'ah saw something flash past her and the group out of the corner of her eye.
A voice entered Lieghl'ah's head through telepathy that was only granted to users of the Millennium Items, "Good morning, may I have word with you?" Lieghl'ah recognized the voice from anywhere.
"Yes, I'll be there in a moment." She answered him. "Yugi I'll be right back, I have to use the restroom." Lieghl'ah lied and left to talk to the man. She followed the signal that the Ring was giving off outside the airport into the alley.
"Come out Zorc, I know you're here." Lieghl'ah crossed her arms over her chest impatiently.
There was a response within the dark alley, "Hn. You know me but I don't know you. Why is that, my dear?" Out of the shadows came the enemy.
"Why should I tell you anything?" Lieghl'ah challenged.
"If you wish to walk away with your life I suggest that you do." Bakura growled.
"You don't scare me." Lieghl'ah stated.
Bakura pressed a knife against the medjia's throat. "You're crazy if you think that you can scare me with a measly ol' blade." Lieghl'ah didn't even bat an eye when the cold metal blade pressed against her neck. Lieghl'ah grabbed the man's wrist, she twisted it causing Bakura to drop the blade, she twisted his arm behind him, and shoved him into the wall with all her strength, knocking him out cold. She released him and ran as fast as she could go. "YUGI!" Lieghl'ah called as she got closer to the group that was waiting for her outside the restaurant.
"What' wrong, Lieghl'ah?" Yugi asked. Lieghl'ah stopped in front of the host of the pharaoh.
"There's no time to explain; we have to get out of here now." Lieghl'ah continued to run with the group right behind her.
Once the group was in the vehicle that was to take them to the sanctuary, they took off. "Okay Lieghl'ah would you care to explain what the hell that was about back there?" Joey wondered.
"It's Zorc, he's here. He must be on to us." Lieghl'ah panted.
"WHAT?" The group questioned in unison.
"What did he want?" Yugi asked.
"He wanted to know who I am." Lieghl'ah answered.
"But I thought he was the one who erased your Bakura's mind of any memory of you." Tristan said.
"Yes, but it seems when he erased Touzoku's memory of me, he ended up erasing his on memory clean of me as well." Lieghl'ah replied.
"If he's not able to remember you then maybe, just maybe we'll be able to use that to our advantage." Marik looked over his shoulder from the front passenger seat.
"That's exactly what I was thinking, but I have a feeling that he's going to do everything in his power to get some answers." Lieghl'ah announced.
"Is there anything that will jog his memory of you, Lieghl'ah?" Tea questioned beside Ishizu in the second row of backseats.
"Maybe if he heard my name or saw my birthmark he would be able to remember me, but I'm not sure about that, Tea." Lieghl'ah said.
~At The Sanctuary~
"Here we are." Odion stopped the car.
Joey didn't want to go back to a time where he didn't exist but after he got to know her he wanted to help Lieghl'ah, because what happened to her and the man and the life she loved he knew she didn't deserve, he vowed to help his new friend anyway he could, he just sighed "Alright there's no turning back now."
