Where There's a King There's Always a Queen
Ch12:Lover against Lover
Lieghl'ah couldn't believe what she was seeing as she and the others rode through the village just outside the palace. There were buildings on fire, citizens running, screaming, and panicking. "So he was here." Lieghl'ah thought to herself. Lieghl'ah stopped her horse outside the palace, got off, and ran down the corridor.
"Milady, please wait!" Steryu ran after her with Yugi, Duke, Tea, Joey, Tristan, and Marik. The rest of the band remained outside. Lieghl'ah kept running; she wanted to see him so bad. Lieghl'ah stopped when she heard a menacing laugh echo through the long corridor.
"It sounds like he got here first." Duke said.
"Touzoku…" Lieghl'ah whispered her lover's name and started running again. Lieghl'ah came to the entrance of the throne room and she skidded to stop when she saw him. Lieghl'ah's heart jumped, it had been five thousand years since she last saw him. The gang stopped right behind her. The people in the room hadn't noticed them yet.
A sinister creature, no doubt summoned by Zorc, was winning against creatures summoned by the Sacred Court. "Diabond, show these fools how to really attack!" Zorc pointed to the group in front of the pharaoh. Lieghl'ah closed her eyes and summoned Horus the black flame dragon. Horus blocked the attack with one of its huge wings. The others gasped and stared at the giant hawk.
"Horus the black flame dragon?" Isis was surprised.
"Where did it come from?" Mahad was just as surprised.
Zorc looked at Horus surprised as well, and then he glared and turned around, "You…" He seethed as he looked at Lieghl'ah.
"This is where your plan comes to an end, Zorc." Lieghl'ah glared back, "And where you give him back."
Zorc sneered, threw his head back, and laughed amused, "Me? This is all happening because of you. You lost him and he's never coming back."
"You are a liar… of all the people, why did you have to take him from me?"
"You know why, my dear. This isn't over pharaoh. You will surrender to me, mark my words." Bakura rushed down the corridor on his horse. The pharaoh went after him. The gang and Lieghl'ah followed close behind.

The pharaoh tried to stop him with the three Egyptian Gods, Lieghl'ah watched him. He was now hanging onto the cliff; Zorc reached down and pulled the Millennium Puzzle off from around the pharaoh's neck. Atem lost his grip and went plunging down into the darkness.
"Pharaoh!" His friend yelled. Lieghl'ah snarled and punched Zorc hard. Zorc looked at her and slapped her. Lieghl'ah fell back. Zorc snarled with a glare, he picked up Lieghl'ah by her neck and held her up as far as his arm could extend, "I should've gotten rid of you when I had the chance. In fact I will."
Lieghl'ah chocked as her hands grasped Bakura's wrists. Her eyes widened a little when the Millennium Ring started to glow. Zorc looked into her eyes then he started to feel strange feelings rise up, "Why can't I…?" He asked himself. He stared at Lieghl'ah and she stared right back. "Damn you, Touzoku." Zorc snarled. The light around the Ring dimmed. Zorc slackened his grip and Lieghl'ah fell to her knees. Lieghl'ah coughed and gasped for air to return to her burning lungs.
Zorc kneeled in front of her, he lifted her chin. Lieghl'ah looked at him, "Consider this a warning; if you ever get in my way again, you will die." With that Zorc took his leave as Yugi and the others ran up the cliff trail towards Lieghl'ah.
"Lieghl'ah!" Yugi made it to Lieghl'ah first. The others came up to the two at their own pace.
"Milady, are you alright?" Steryu wondered, placing hand on Lieghl'ah's back.
"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks Steryu." Lieghl'ah rubbed her red neck and smiled weakly at her second in command.
"Lieghl'ah what did Bakura mean back there at the palace, why did he say that this is your fault?" Duke wondered.
"Yeah, what do you have to do with any of this?" Tristan asked helping Lieghl'ah to her feet.
"The day Zorc took over Touzoku, we had a fight." Lieghl'ah replied.
"A fight?" Yugi repeated in a question.
"Yes. Now I realize if I had said yes to what he asked me none of this would be happening. Zorc is right, this is my fault. I had pushed Touzoku over the edge." Lieghl'ah's voice broke a little.
Marik and Duke looked at each other confused, and then they looked at Lieghl'ah. "What did he ask you?" Marik asked.
"He asked me to marry him."
